"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat faktor-faktor berdasarkan teori signaling dalam pengaruhnya terhadap kesuksesan proyek reward-based crowdfunding yang ada di ASEAN Member States (AMS) dalam periode Januari 2018 hingga Februari 2020 dengan menggunakan 489 sampel proyek reward-based crowdfunding yang menempati 5 industri teratas pada platform Kickstarter. Peneliti menggunakan estimasi regresi logistik di mana proksi-proksi yang diuji terbukti memiliki pengaruh signifikan atas kesuksesan kampanye crowdfunding. Terdapat 8 variabel faktor signaling yang digunakan yaitu jumlah target pendanaan, durasi kampanye, jumlah dukungan yang diberikan, jumlah video, jumlah kata deskripsi, kehadiran situs web eksternal, entri FAQ, jumlah pembaruan, dan presentasi pada indeks popularitas yang digunakan untuk melihat pengaruhnya terhadap kesuksesan kampanye crowdfunding.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to determine factors based on signaling theory on the success of reward-based crowdfunding projects in the ASEAN Member States (AMS) using 489 project samples that occupy the top 5 industries on the Kickstarter platform for the period of January 2018 to February 2020. The researcher uses binary logistic regression estimation where the proxies tested are found to have significant influence on the success of the crowdfunding campaign. This study uses 8 signaling factor variables, which are funding goal, campaign duration, number of project backings, number of videos, number of description words, presence of external website, FAQ entries, number of updates, and presentation on the popularity index to determine their influence on the success of crowdfunding campaign."

"Bagi pasangan yang berpacaran jarak jauh, memerlukan media komunikasi yang mampu memfasilitasi munculnya kedekatan dengan pasangan mereka dan membuat mereka mampu mempertahankan hubungan. Computer mediated Communication (CMC) merupakan salah satu bentuk kemajuan teknologi komunikasi, mengizinkan manusia untuk berkomunikasi walaupun ada jarak yang memisahkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara penggunaan CMC (telepon, video call, Instant Messenger, Instagram, dan Facebook) terhadap relational maintenance pada individu dewasa muda yang menjalin hubungan LDR. Penelitian melibatkan 170 responden wanita dan pria yang menjalin hubungan LDR dengan usia hubungan minimal 6 bulan. Alat ukur yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah frekuensi penggunaan CMC dan Relational Maintenance Strategy Measure (RMSM). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa jenis CMC telepon, video call, Instant Messenger, dan Instagram memiliki hubungan terhadap relational maintenance, sedangkan Facebook tidak memiliki hubungan terhadap relational maintenance pada individu yang berpacaran jarak jauh. Video call memiliki hubungan yang paling kuat dengan relational maintenance.

ABSTRACT

For couples who are in long distance relationship, of course it requires communication media that are able to facilitate the emergence of closeness with their partners and make them able to maintain their relationships. Computer mediated Communication (CMC) is a form of communication technology advancement, allowing people to communicate even though there is a distance. This study aims to look at the relationship between the use of CMC (telephone, video call, Instant Messenger, Instagram, and Facebook) on relational maintenance in young adults who are in Long Distance Dating Relationship (LDDR). The study involved 170 female and male respondents who had the relationship with a minimum of 6 months long. The measuring instrument used in this study is the frequency use of each CMC and Relational Maintenance Strategy Measure (RMSM). The results show that CMC telephone, video calls, Instant Messenger, and Instagram have a relationship to maintain relationships, while Facebook has no relationship to maintain relationships in individuals who are in LDDR. CMC video calls have the strongest relationship to maintaining relationships.

This paper reviews the various studies about the characters and its developments in the DE context, and some of the efforts made by DE providers."

However , Indonesia sill faces problem in relation to equal education access for boys is higher than rhose for girls. This situation shows, to some point, hind rents the Indonesia government to provide equal education for man and woman as one target of the United Nation's Millenium Declaration. It is the necessary to take a look at policies of Indonesia government on education and how the policies influence women participation in education. One of the government policies which could benefit women is the acknowledgeement of distance education (DE) in Indonesia educational system. This paper discusses how DE could benefit women by providing wider access to education. For illustration , this paper provides analysis of roles and performances of Universitas Terbuka , a state national higher education which fully implements DE system, in relation to efforts to increase access and participation of women in education, espicially in higher education."

"Makalah ini membahas tentang peran sticker dalam computer-mediated communication (CMC). Sticker adalah simbol yang menyerupai ekspresi wajah dan konteks sosial yang ada di dalamnya. Sekarang ini peningkatan jumlah interaksi sosial antar manusia lebih banyak terjadi melalui internet. Dapat diasumsikan secara implisit bahwa CMC dapat menggantikan komunikasi tatap muka atau F2F. Karakter khusus dari CMC adalah kurangnya tanda-tanda nonverbal karena sebagian besar CMC berbasis teks. Karena tidak adanya tanda-tanda nonverbal ini, komunikan mengganti ekspresi emosional yang berhubungan dengan isi pesan dengan tanda nonverbal yang tersedia di dalam CMC, misalnya LINE messenger apps. Banyaknya penggunaan sticker di CMC menyiratkan bahwa pengguna CMC memiliki kebutuhan untuk mengekspresikan emosinya dalam simbol-simbol daripada menggunakan teks. Makalah ini mengindikasikan bahwa faktor sosial, personal, psikologi, dan budaya dapat mempengaruhi penggunaan sticker di LINE.

The present paper examines the role of sticker in computer-mediated communication. Sticker are short symbols that resemble facial displays and the social context behind them. Today an increasing amount of social interaction between people takes place on the internet. It is implicity assumed that CMC can replace face-to-face (F2F) communication. A specific characteristic of CMC is that it is largely text-based which implies that there is a lack of nonverbal cues. When these nonverbal cues are not available, interactants substitute the expession of relational messages into cues available in CMC (e.g., in LINE messenger apps people use sticker to convey their emotion in chatting). Stickers are prevalent in CMC which mplies that CMC users do have a need to express their emotions with short symbols rather than text. This paper indicates that social, personal, psychological, and culture can be the factors contributing the usage of stickers in LINE."
