Verena Andermatt Conley
"Book description Spatial Ecologies takes a new look at the “spatial turn” in French cultural and critical theory since 1968. Verena Andermatt Conley examines how Henri Lefebvre, Michel de Certeau, Jean Baudrillard, Marc Augé, Paul Virilio, Bruno Latour and Etienne Balibar reconsider the experience of space in the midst of considerable political and economic turmoil. The book considers why French critical theorists turned away from questions of time and looked instead toward questions of space. It asks what writing about space can tell us about life in late capitalism. Conley links this question to the problematic of habitality, taking us back to Heidegger and showing how it informs much of French theory. Building on the author's acclaimed earlier study Ecopolitics, Spatial Ecologies argues, through the voices of the authors taken up the eight chapters, for recognition of the virtue of spatial theory and its pragmatic applications in the global milieu. It will be required reading for scholars of literary and cultural theory, and twentieth- and twenty-first century French culture."

tetap mampu mewadahi manusia melihat alam sebagaimana adanya.

ABSTRACT
In 1992, a convention than attended by the entire world was held intended to solve the
problems of climate change and global warming issue. One of the consensus mention of the
allowance of the carbon trading between countries. However, in understanding ecology, one have to
be aware of the layers inside the idea of ecology. Ecology appears as one of the medium between
human and nature, a media that connecting human mind and its environment, and also giving human
its space to understanding nature not only in physical state but also mentally as Felix Guattari quoted
as mental ecology in his Three Ecology conception. The conception implies that human and nature
appears as one synergy as rhizome was. The development of civilization and advancement of
technology should have been followed by the dynamism of the ecology and its ability to conform
such expansion. This issue becomes important or ecology become manipulated for some interest.
Every interest pinned in ecology conception impacting the synergy between human and nature,
giving it a bias definition and shallow meaning. Ecology needs a new or deconstructed perspectives
and seeing from another angle like schizo-analytic method could offer."

Frichot, Hélène
"Architect and philosopher Helene Frichot examines how the discipline of architecture is theorized and practiced at the periphery. Eschewing a conventionally direct approach to architectural objects - to iconic buildings and big-name architects - she instead explores the background of architectural practice, to introduce the creative ecologies in which architecture exists only in relation to other objects and ideas. Consisting of a series of philosophical encounters with architectural practice that are neither neatly located in one domain nor the other, this book is concerned with `other ways of doing architecture'. It examines architecture at the limits where it is muddied by alternative disciplinary influences - whether art practice, philosophy or literature. Frichot meets a range of creative characters who work at the peripheries, and who challenge the central assumptions of the discipline, showing that there is no `core of architecture' - there is rather architecture as a multiplicity of diverse concerns in engagement with local environments and worlds. From an author well-known in the disciplines of architecture and philosophy for her scholarship on Deleuze, this is a radical, accessible, and highly-original approach to design research, deftly engaging with an array of current topics from the Anthropocene to affect theory, new materialism contemporary feminism."

Nowadays, environmental problems have become a scourge in every aspect of our civilization. In the urge for environmentally friendly building practice, many alternative work sprout with distinct character of viewpoint, image, and strategy. Each of these have been mapped according to its characteristic in the term of ecologies. On the other side, organic architecture presents with its unique perspective of built environment in relation with man and nature. This essay is reviewing organic architecture from the ecologies viewpoint. Rooted in amazement of nature and desire to live in harmony with it, organic architecture turns the ecologies upside-down with each character of ecologies merge and complementing each other manifested in environmentally friendly built environment viewed from every perspective of ecologies."

"This paper examines the relationship between transnationalism, cultural preservation, and transgenerational trauma in the United States (US) Indo population. The information being analysed was compiled by the author from two separate surveys which took place between 2012 and 2021. This data was initially intended to act as a census for the scattered US Indo community however the salient information necessitated that the census be ongoing and that another survey be developed to measure effects of lingering trauma which has been passed down generationally. The two surveys invited Indos from around the globe to participate in data collection, which led to the development of the first Indo population maps of the twenty-first century and hidden impacts of transgenerational trauma. The trauma of the Indo experience during and after World War II affected the first, second, and third generations both similarly and differently with expressions being exacerbated as the population dispersed globally."

This study aims to reveal the identity of Tegalness, which is seen as a cultural strategy in positioning Tegalan poetry that contests the dominant culture. The corpus of this research is taken from three tegalan poetry anthologies titled Ruwat Desa (1998), Ngranggeh Katuranggan (2009), and Ganti Lakon Sintren Dadi Ratu (2014). Through structuralism and stylistics approach, it is clear that tegalan poetry, which is written in tegalan language, influenced by modern Indonesian poetry, is a medium to represent tegalness identity. The semiotic study on the structure of Tegalan poetry shows the existence of the object that is read as semiosis markers in each anthology that constructs tegalness identity; language identity, cultural identity, and poor people identity. As a sub-language of Java, Tegal language has been positioned marginally with many negative stigmas. This language is known as a low-class language which is rude, disrespectful, and as it is. On the other hand, this stigma is also used to represent the cultural identity of Tegal people through the text of poetry. It also relates to the positioning of the people as the dominant underprivileged community. The anthology of tegalan poetry not only presents symbols with connotations but also becomes a way of presenting myths. The myths inside the text show the ideology of resistance to the dominant culture. Thus, tegalan poetry is a culture that shows resistance, contestation, and the existence of tegalan writers in constructing their cultural identity, as well as positioning tegalan literature in the Indonesian literature and local languages."
