Kegiatan, industri yang merupakan pendukung utama pembangunan, serngkali mengeluarkan berbagai jenis limbah, baik limbah cair, padat maupun gas. Limbah industri umumnya mengandung berbagai jenis limbah, termasuk limbah bahan berbabaya, sehingga berpotensi besar dalam pencemaran lingkungan.
