"Makalah ini membahas fenomena geng remaja dari perspektif komunikasi. Secara khusus, mengkaji konsep konformitas dan kepercayaan diri dengan fokus pada remaja anggota geng di Jakarta: kesenangan dan kesulitan remaja menjadi bagian dari geng demi pengakuan dan rasa hormat dari orang lain, motif di balik kenakalan remaja sebagai hasil dari konformitas selama proses penyesuaian, juga konformitas dan kepercayaan diri remaja dalam geng. Melalui analisis penelitian sebelumnya (tinjauan pustaka), penelitian ini menunjukkan hal-hal berikut sehubungan dengan fenomena geng remaja: (a) geng remaja adalah fenomena yang diakui secara luas yang memiliki peran positif dan negatif; (b) terdapat memiliki faktor internal dan eksternal yang memotivasi remaja untuk bergabung dengan geng; (c) konformitas adalah upaya remaja dalam mengurangi ketidakpastian; (d) kenakalan remaja merupakan salah satu akibat konformitas; dan (e) kepercayaan diri remaja anggota geng disumbangkan dalam konformitas selama proses penyesuaian.

This paper addresses the phenomenon of adolescent gangs from a communication perspective. Specifically, it examines the concepts of conformity and self-confidence with a particular focus on adolescents gang members in Jakarta: adolescents’ excitement and difficulty in being part of a gang for the sake of validation and respect from others, the motives behind juvenile delinquency as a result of conformity during the adjustment process, also adolescents’ conformity and self-confidence in gangs. Through the analysis of previous research (literature review), this research indicates the following with respect to the adolescent gang phenomenon: (a) adolescents gang are a widely recognized phenomenon that has both positive and negative roles; (b) adolescents have internal and external factors that motivate them to join gangs; (c) conformity is adolescents’ effort in reducing uncertainty; (d) juvenile delinquency is one of the outcomes of conformity; and (e) the confidence in adolescents gang members are contributed in conformity during the adjustment process."

"Studi mengenai reduksi ketidakpastian dengan subyek pasangan suami-isteri kawin campur mencoba menganalisis mengenai bagaimana suatu interaksi awal terjadi dalam konteks reduksi ketidakpastian. Ternyata interaksi awal terjadi antar individu berbeda latarbelakang kultural tanpa hambatan bahkan secara mulus meningkat kepada hubungan yang romantis. Hambatan itu baru terjadi manakala individu yang bersangkutan berhadapan dengan kelompok yang diwarnai dengan berbagai stereotip sosial oleh kelompok yang satu terhadap yang lain secara timbal balik.
Prilaku pencarian informasi dengan berbagai strategi seperti pasif, aktif dan interaktif sebagai konsep Barat kurang adanya relevansi terhadap studi pasangan suami-isteri kawin. campur. Strategi pasif ternyata tidak digunakan sama sekali karena meriang tidak diperlukan. Begitu pula strategi aktif hampir tidak digunakan karena hambatan psikologis bentuk kawin campur semacam itu pada proses perkenalannya tidak mendapat dukungan dari jaringan sosial keluarga maupun lingkungannya. Sedangkan strategi interaktif dalam bentuk pengungkapan diri kurang dimanfaatkan oleh pihak pria pasangan tersebut. Hal ini antara lain disebabkan karena strategi tersebut tidak dirancang untuk masyarakat penganut budaya high-context di mana individu lebih banyak mengandalkan bahasa isyarat dalam suatu interaksi.
Pada eskalasi hubungan pada tingkat yang paling akrab yang ditandai oleh suatu perkawinan antar individu pasangan tersebut tidak selalu menunjukkan tahap pertukaran yang stabil dengan ciri-ciri saling keterbukaan dan mengenal pribadi masing-masing. Hal ini disebabkan karena pasangan yang bersangkutan pada proses perkenalannya tidak atau kurang memanfaatkan tahapan hubungan berdasarkan teori Altman dan Taylor. Hal ini Brat kaitannya dengan pola budaya yang berbeda di mana teori tersebut tidak dimaksudkan atau dirancang untuk masyarakat high-context culture. Begitu pula model hubungan dari Thibaut dan Kelley (1959) dalam menganalisis evaluasi hubungan yang dilakukan oleh masing-masing individu pasangan suami-isteri baru ada relevansinya kalau secara konsisten mengikuti tahapan hubungan dari Altman dan Taylor (1973).
Konflik yang terjadi antara anggota pasangan suami-isteri kawin campur pribumi dan non-pribumi Cina bukanlah merupakan konflik yang bersifat antar budaya. Tni disebabkan karena konflik tersebut bukan karena adanya perbedaan dalam mengekspresikan dan menginterpretasikan tindakan simbolis yang sama. "

"Konsumen yang aktif dalam pasar online sering mengalami tantangan terkait ketidakseimbangan informasi yang berfokus pada dua sumber utama asimetri informasi yang dihadapi yaitu tentang ketidakpastian penjual dan ketidakpastian tentang produk. Penelitian ini menggunakan Uncertainty Reduction Theory untuk mengurangi asimetri informasi yang dihadapi konsumen dengan mengaplikasikan tiga strategi utama dalam mengurangi ketidakpastian yaitu melalui efektivitas deskripsi produk, interaktivitas yang dirasakan, dan efektivitas sistem ulasan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk membuktikan dan menjelaskan pengaruh strategi komunikasi URT, ketidakpastian tingkat produk dan penjual terhadap perilaku konsumen secara online melalui live streaming shopping. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif melalui kuesioner online dan memiliki 13 hipotesis dengan pendekatan purposive sampling. Responden sebanyak 240 orang yang merupakan pengguna Shopee Live Streaming Shopping. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan SmartPLS. Sebagian besar teori hubungan antara strategi komunikasi uncertainty reduction theory dan ketidakpastian penjual, ketidakpastian kualitas produk, serta ketidakpastian kesesuaian produk adalah signifikan, dengan pengecualian yaitu dampak efektivitas sistem ulasan terhadap ketidakpastian penjual tidak terkonfirmasi. Efektivitas sistem ulasan secara kuat mengurangi ketidakpastian kesesuaian produk yang dirasakan konsumen. Hal ini menyiratkan bahwa efektivitas sistem ulasan merupakan faktor mitigasi yang paling efektif dari ketiga fasilitator strategi komunikasi dalam mengatasi ketidakpastian produk.

Active consumers in online market often challenges related to information imbalance, focusing on two main sources of information asymmetry: seller uncertainty and product uncertainty. This study uses Uncertainty Reduction Theory (URT) to reduce the information asymmetry faced by consumers by applying three main strategies to reduce uncertainty which the effectiveness of product descriptions, perceived interactivity, and the effectiveness of the review system. Study aims to demonstrate and explain the impact of URT communication strategies, product uncertainty, and seller uncertainty on consumer behavior online through live streaming shopping. This research is quantitative, conducted via an online questionnaire, and involves 13 hypotheses using a purposive sampling approach. The respondents are 240 users of Shopee Live Streaming Shopping. Data analysis using SmartPLS. Most of the theoretical relationships between the communication strategies of uncertainty reduction theory and seller uncertainty, product quality uncertainty, and product fit uncertainty are significant, with the exception of the impact of the review system's effectiveness on seller uncertainty, which is not confirmed. The effectiveness of the review system strongly reduces the perceived product fit uncertainty. This implies that the effectiveness of the review system is the most effective mitigating factor among the three communication strategy facilitators in addressing product uncertainty."

Skripsi ini membahas tentang komunikasi internal yang terjadi selama krisis berlangsung pada Bank BTN (studi kasus pemberitaan Bank BTN yang akan diakuisisi Bank Mandiri tahun 2014). Fokus dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana upaya pihak manajemen dan tim manajemen krisis mengurangi ketidakpastian karyawan ketika pemberitaan wacana akuisisi. Pendekatan pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Sedangkan konfirmasi data pada penelitian ini menggunakan triangulasi data kuantitatif (survei).
Peneliti menyarankan bahwa pihak manajemen Bank BTN perlu melakukan komunikasi internal secara terbuka untuk mengurangi ketidakpastian karyawan ketika krisis berlangsung. Selain itu, pihak manajemen Bank BTN perlu membuat tim manajamen krisis untuk menangani komunikasi krisis, terutama kepada pihak internal. Tim manajemen krisis perlu membuat Peraturan Standar Operasional (PSO) agar informasi yang diberikan jelas dan tidak simpang siur. Terakhir, Bank BTN perlu melibatkan manajemen senior dalam menangani krisis.

The focus of this research is the efforts of the management and its crisis management team to reduce employees? uncertainty when the news about the acquisition was circulating. The approach in this study is a qualitative research with descriptive design. While confirmation of the data in this study is done using quantitative data triangulation (survey).
The researcher suggest that Bank BTN management should do an open internal communication in order to reduce employees? uncertainty when the crisis was taking place. Moreover, the management should form a crisis management team to deal with crisis communication, especially to internal parties. The crisis management team should make a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) so that the information provided will be as clear as possible.
