Indonesia merupakan negara kepulauan terbesar di dunia. Peranan transportasi laut dan penyeberangan sangat dominan dalam memperlancar arus barang dan manusia. Akan tetapi, sejak dulu pemerintah Indonesia tetap menghadapi masalah transportasi yang sama, yaitu kemacetan kendaraan di area pelabuhan, terutama pada kondisi peak.
Penelitian ini mencoba untuk mengidentifikasi perilaku sistem penyeberangan di pelabuhan Merak dengan merancang sebuah simulasi diskrit mengenai model antrian pelabuhan Merak saat ini pada berbagai skenario kondisi.
