"Before lesbianism became a specific identity category in the West, its mere suggestion functioned as a powerful source of scandal in early twentieth-century British and Anglo-American culture. Reconsidering notions of the 'invisible' or 'apparitional' lesbian, Jodie Medd argues that lesbianism's representational instability, and the scandals it generated, rendered it an influential force within modern politics, law, art and the literature of modernist writers like James Joyce, Ezra Pound and Virginia Woolf. "ABSTRAK(LIBOR) atau yang dikenal sebagai Penentuan Suku Bunga Antar-Bank London merupakan skandal yang melibatkan bank-bank yang tergabung dalam British Banking Association (BBA). Barclays, salah satu bank anggota dari British Banking Association mengaku bahwa mereka telah memanipulasi Penentuan Suku Bunga Antar-Bank London pada tahun 2005 sampai 2009 dengan tujuan untuk untuk mendapatkan keuntungan atau membatasi kerugian di pasar derivatif dan untuk menggambarkan posisi finansial yang baik kepada investor. ABSTRACTBarclays and the London Inter-Bank Offered Rate (LIBOR) scandal is a scandal involving banks that are the members of the British Banking Association (BBA). Barclays, as a member of the British Banking Association, claimed that they had manipulated London Inter-Bank Offered Rate from 2005 to 2009 to gain profit or limit losses in the derivative market and to misrepresent its financial health to investors. In this thesis, I will explain how the implications of Barclays manipulated London Inter-Bank Offered Rate on financial markets, also who are the responsible parties in this scandal, as well as the role of other banks or competitors in knowing these unethical actions, and how to fix the manipulated LIBOR at Barclays."

"[ABSTRAKTesis berupa kritik terjemahan audiovisual ini membandingkan kesepadananmakna kesantunan berbahasa dalam subtitle serial TV Sherlock, A Scandal inBelgravia versi VCD dan Internet. Jenis kesantunan berbahasa yang dianalisisterbatas pada politeness markers, play-downs dan committers. Penelitian inidilakukan dengan ancangan sosiopragmatik dan terjemahan fungsional. Temuandari penelitian yang telah dilakukan adalah (1) situasi komunikasi TSu berbedadengan TSa sehingga kesenjangan tidak dapat dihindari. Sementara itu, motifkomunikasi antara kedua penyusun subtitle juga berbeda. Penyusun subtitle versiVCD didasari motif komersial sedangkan versi Internet didasari motif hobi. (2)penyusun subtitle menggunakan berbagai strategi dan prosedur penerjemahanuntuk menghasilkan terjemahan yang sesuai dengan skopos penerjemahan,strategiskopos yang didominasi oleh strategi komunikatif merupakan strategi yang palingtepat digunakan dalam penerjemahan audiovisual, (3) struktur tuturan TSuberubah dalam TSa demi menyampaikan makna kesantunan yang antara TSu danTSa. (4) berdasarkan perhitungan keakuratan subtitle versi Internet adalah 99,02%dan versi internet adalah 96,91% dan persentase tuturan dengan tingkatketerbacaan tinggi versi Internet adalah 66,70% dan versi VCD adalah 39,70%.Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah kualitas subtitle serial TV Sherlock, episode AScandal in Belgravia versi internet lebih baik daripada versi VCD.

ABSTRACTThis Thesis is a translation criticism compared audiovisual translation equivalencewithin the meaning of politeness in subtitles over Sherlock TV series, A Scandalin Belgravia both VCD and the iinternet version. The type of politeness analyzedwas limited to politeness markers, play-downs and committers. This research wasconducted by sociopragmatics and functional translation approach.
