Development delay is one of the health problems that is prone to occur in children, especially children aged under five. Attainment of development aspects such as motor, speech and language as well as socialization and independency help children to grow not only physically healthy but holistically. Effort to maintain children’s health mean efforts to maintain the productive age generation for our future. Failure to achieve development not only results in the survival of the child itself but also sacrifices many interests such as increasing the state’s burden of dependency ratio. Indonesia is a country with relatively low average child development index compared to other countries’ development index in ASEAN, which is only 88.7%. Risk factors for developmental delays found in Tangerang Regency further increase the vulnerability of developmental delays happen to children in the region. The intervention carried out on Mr. A’s family where after nurse conducted a nursing assessment, child A who was a daughter of Mr. A had a risk of developmental delays, especially in speech and language as well as socialization and independency aspect. Successful development cannot be separated from family involvement in providing developmental stimulation. Play therapy serve as one of the interventions to improve children’s development. After five sessions of intervention, it was concluded that this intervention helped improve the development of Child A, especially from aspect socialization and independency."
