This paper discusses tin plate inscriptions found on the Batanghari River. There are 4 inscriptions that will be examined which are kept at the ex-BPCB West Sumatra (BPK Region III) and the ex-BPCB Jambi (BPK Region V). The phenomenon of finding more than a hundred tin plate inscriptions in rivers in Sumatra became the beginning of a research problem: how the tin inscriptions are related to the Batanghari River. This problem is studied by paying attention to religious behaviour in the form of offering to the Batanghari River. This research was conducted through several research steps: data collection, data processing, and data analysis. This research produces local historical knowledge about the use of inscriptions as a tool to fortify oneself from evil creatures and maintain harmony in nature. Tin plate inscriptions and the Batanghari River have a close relationship: the inscription as an offering and the river as a "storage" of the ceremonial objects. The results of this research will become a reference for the history of Sumatra, a source of motivation for the people around the Batanghari watershed, and a reference for stakeholders so that objects suspected of being cultural heritage from the Batanghari River can be preserved."

"Nowadays the problem of many priests has challenged priesthood itself, particularly its key element, namely celibacy. The first is a challenge to re-evaluate the relevancy of mandatory celibacy. Another challenge is that as the Church confronts the scandals caused by some priests, society itself has begun to challenge the Church's tradition of a celibate priesthood. However, I believe that the celibacy of priest is a gift from God and a personal decision to embrace a tangible witness of the love of God to all creation. Through love one will dedicate him/herself wholeheartedly to the service of God as either a religious or a priest. Love plays a pivotal role in celibacy as an essential beginning which continuous giving impact on the life of the celibate."

Selama masyarakat Indonesia keturunan Tionghoa masih memegang teguh ajaran bakti, maka Teh Pai masih tetap dilaksanakan.

Tea ceremony, also known as Teh Pai (茶拜 Chá bài), has been a part of the Chinese wedding ceremony since the Tang Dynasty (唐朝 Táng cháo) (618-906 BC). Teh Pai has also been a part of Chinese-Indonesian wedding ceremony until now. The purpose of this study is to explain why Teh Pai in Chinese-Indonesian wedding still persists to the present day. An explanation of the ongoing existence of Teh Pai will be presented through Peirce's semiotic theory. In addition, this paper also explains the processions of Teh Pai ceremony. This study uses qualitative research methods through interviews and is supported by literary works in the form of books, articles, journals, and dictionary. The conclusion of this research shows that the ceremony of Teh Pai processions symbolize the teachings of fillial piety. Filial piety or xiao 孝 Xiào taught by Confucius (孔夫子 Kǒng fūzǐ), will shape someone's good moral character through filial behavior towards their parents. As long as Chinese-Indonesian people still adhere to values of filial piety, Teh Pai will still continue to be practiced."
