"ABSTRAKThis research is a quantitative analysis descriptive approach focused on conducting attitude of Islamic book publisher in Jakarta to the Legal Deposit (UU RI. No. 4/1990) and the concept of bibliographic control and its correlation with the Islamic book entries in BN1 (Bibliografi Nasional Indonesia-Indonesian National Bibliography) and KDT (Katalog Dalam Terbitan = Cataloging in Publication).The population of this research are all of the Islamic book publishers that are located in Jakarta, and the samples are selected by purposive sampling technique with (10) Islamic book publishers as respondents. The data are collected by two techniques, questioner and documentation. The questionaires are arranged based on Likert scale, and those are applied to collect the data of Islamic book publisher's attitude to the Legal Deposit and to the concept of bibliographic control. Otherwise documentation used to collect data about Islamic book entries in the BNI and KDTThe results of this research are follows: 1). The Islamic book publisher's attitude to the concept of bibliographic control are generally positive. 2). The Islamic book publisher's attitudes to the Legal Deposit (UU RI No. 4/1990) tend to positive, 3). The number of Islamic book entries in Bibliografi National Indonesia = Indonesian National Bibliography (BNI) published 2000-2005 periode are 1142 titles, with the average (mean) are 90 title/year, and 616 titles in Katalog Dalam Terbitan (KDT), with the average are 47 title/year. Thus, the number of Islamic book entries in BNI more than Islamic book entries in the Katalog Dalam Terbitan (KDT), 4). From the statistic analysis was gained two (2) conclusions: a) There is no correlation between the Islamic book publishers attitude's to the bibliographic control concept and to the Legal Deposit with the Islamic book entries both in BNI and KDT, b). The Islamic book publisher's attitude did not give a significant contribution to Islamic book entries both in the BNI and KDT."

"Penelitian ini membahas dampak kebijakan layanan ISBN Perpustakaan Nasional RI terhadap penerbit di Jawa Barat. Peraturan Perpustakaan Nasional Nomor 5 Tahun 2022 mewajibkan seluruh penerbit untuk menerapkan kewajiban tersebut. Jawa Barat sendiri merupakan provinsi dengan jumlah penerbit terbanyak kedua di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan studi kasus untuk mengetahui dampak kebijakan ISBN terhadap penerbit di Jawa Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan ISBN awalnya menjadi tantangan bagi penerbit untuk beradaptasi dengan persyaratan baru. Akan tetapi, setelah kebijakan diterapkan, penerbit berhasil meningkatkan kembali volume penerbitan dan mengembangkan strategi untuk memenuhi persyaratan pengajuan ISBN. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan ISBN berpotensi meningkatkan ketersediaan informasi bagi masyarakat dan mendorong perubahan praktik penerbitan di Jawa Barat.

This study examines the impact of the ISBN service policy of the National Library of Indonesia on publishers in West Java. The National Library Regulation Number 5 of 2022 mandates all publishers to comply with this obligation. West Java itself is the province with the second-highest number of publishers in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach to understand the impact of the ISBN policy on publishers in West Java. The results of the study indicate that the ISBN policy initially posed a challenge for publishers to adapt to the new requirements. However, after the policy was implemented, publishers managed to increase their publication volumes and develop strategies to meet the ISBN application requirements. The findings of this study show that the ISBN policy has the potential to enhance the availability of information for the public and encourage changes in publishing practices in West Java."
