Penelitian bertujuan mengungkap prinsip-prinsip kesetaraan gender yang diwacanakan dalam berita-berita mengenai rencana tes keperawanan di Indonesia yang muncul di The Jakarta Post versi online. Dalam penelitian ini, ancangan penelitian yang digunakan mengacu pada teori Analisis Wacana Kritis (AWK) yang dikembangkan oleh Norman Fairclough (1993), yang menjelaskan keterkaitan antara wacana dengan konteks sosial.
