"ABSTRAKJurnal ini membahas tentang ironi yang terdapat dalam cerpen bergaya realis Unsu Joheun Nal karya Hyeon Jin Geon yang dibuat pada era 1920-an. Cerpen ini menceritakan tentang Bapak Kim, seorang penarik bendi yang tinggal di Seoul dan memiliki seorang istri yang sedang sakit di rumah. Pada suatu hari ia merasa bahwa hari itu adalah hari keberuntungannya karena ia mendapat banyak uang dari hasil kerjanya. Ironisnya ia menemukan istrinya meninggal dunia ketika ia tiba di rumah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ironi-ironi yang terdapat di dalam cerpen Unsu Joheun Nal. Dalam melakukan penelitian, penulis menggunakan metode close-reading untuk menganalisis ironi yang terdapat cerpen tersebut. Penelitian dimulai dengan membaca teliti teks cerpen Unsu Joheun Nal dan mengaitkannya dengan sumber-sumber lain yang terkait. Dengan begitu, penulis dapat memahami dan menganalisis ironi apa saja yang terdapat di dalam cerpen tersebut. Melalui langkah tersebut, penulis merumuskan kesimpulan bahwa cerpen Unsu Joheun Nal mengandung beberapa ironi situasional. Ironi situasional tersebut tergambar dalam inti cerita cerpen dan beberapa situasi pada bagian-bagian kecil cerpen.

ABSTRACTThis journal discussed about the irony portrayed in Unsu Joheun Nal, a realist short story written in 1920s era by Hyeon Jin Geon. This short story tells about Mr. Kim, a rickshaw-man living in Seoul and a husband of a sick wife. One day, he knew that it was his lucky day because all of sudden, he got quite a big amount of money from his work. Ironically, he found his wife has been dead when he reached home. The purpose of this study was to determine the irony portrayed in the short story Unsu Joheun Nal. In conducting the research, the writer used close-reading method to analyse the irony potrayed in the short story. The research began with reading the short story text and other sources related. The writer then understood and analysed the irony in the short story. Through these steps, the writer compose a conclusion that the short story Unsu Joheun Nal portrayed some situational irony. Those situational ironies portrayed in the main story and some situations in the small parts of the short story."

"Karya sastra menyajikan berbagai konflik yang terinspirasi dari kejadian nyata maupun murni buatan pengarang. Kehadiran konflik dalam karya sastra, mampu menghadirkan efek-efek yang diinginkan oleh pengarang. Seperti contohnya efek kejutan, sedih, senang dan lainnya dalam cerita. Kejutan akibat dari konflik yang terjadi dalam cerita dapat dilihat dari cerpen Binjib karya Kim In Suk. Binjib menceritakan kisah kehidupan rumah tangga yang dijalani oleh sepasang suami-istri selama 27 tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi konflik-konflik yang muncul serta penyebabnya dalam cerpen. Konflik dikaji melalui plot karena plot mengandung unsur esensial termasuk konflik. Latar belakang terjadinya konflik dianalisis melalui penokohan untuk melihat watak atau tindakan mana yang mempengaruhi munculnya konflik. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif-kualitatif dengan teori plot dan penokohan milik Nurgiyantoro. Data diperoleh melalui cara baca dan catat dari kutipan cerpen Binjib. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya konflik internal yang dialami tokoh istri, dan konflik eksternal yang terjadi antara tokoh istri dengan tokoh tambahan, serta tokoh istri dengan tokoh suami. Adapun penyebab konflik terjadi di dalam Binjib karena watak dan tindakan antara tokoh suami dan istri serta tokoh gadis penyewa jasa angkutan barang milik suami. Kata kunci: konflik suami-istri, plot campuran, cerpen Korea.

Literary works present various conflicts inspired by daily live or purely created by the author. The presence of conflict in literary works can produce the effects desired by the author. For example, the effects of surprise, sadness, happiness, and others in the story. The effects of surprise from the conflict that occurs in the story can be seen in the short story Binjib by Kim In-suk. Binjib tells the story of the husband and wife who lived together for 27 years. This research aims to identify the conflicts arise and causes in short stories. Conflict is studied through plot because plot contains essential elements including conflict. The background of conflict is analysed through characterization to see which characters or actions influence the emergence of the conflict. Descriptivequalitative method will be used with Nurgiyantoro's theory of plot and characterization. Data was obtained by reading and taking notes from excerpts from the short story Binjib. The results of the research show that there is internal conflict experienced by the wife character, and external conflict that occurs between the wife character and additional characters, as well as the wife character and the husband character. The cause of the conflict in Binjib is because of the characters and actions between the husband and wife characters and the girl character who rents the husband's goods transportation service. "

"Fenomena gim dalam kelompok sosial anak merupakan sesuatu yang tidak dapat dihindari. Salah satu cerita pendek (cerpen) Korea Selatan yang mengangkat fenomena tersebut sebagai latar sosialnya adalah “Dangsin Eommaga Dangsinboda Jalhaneun Geim” karya Park Seo-ryeon. Penelitian ini membahas bagaimana cerpen tersebut menggambarkan fenomena gim dalam kelompok sosial anak. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra dan analisis fokalisasi, penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana suatu karya sastra dapat memanfaatkan perangkat sastra dalam mengangkat fenomena sosial yang unik sesuai perkembangan zaman. Cerpen ini memperlihatkan bagaimana gim menjadi lebih dekat dengan kehidupan tokoh protagonis sebagai ibu dari seorang anak di era maraknya perkembangan gim. Gim digambarkan memiliki dampak-dampak tertentu dalam kelompok sosial anak, seperti tekanan sosial untuk mahir bermain gim, kursus gim, dan baik atau buruknya hubungan anak dengan orang tua. Penggunaan kata ganti orang kedua yang merujuk pada tokoh ibu dan pemilihan tokoh ibu sebagai fokalisator sepanjang cerita merupakan strategi penulis cerpen dalam membentuk keterlibatan emosional yang kuat antara pembaca dan tokoh ibu. Dengan begitu, pembaca seperti mendapatkan pengalaman mengenal dunia 'nyata' di luar teks berupa isu-isu yang berkaitan dengan fenomena gim dalam kelompok sosial anak melalui kegiatan membaca cerpen ini.

Game phenomenon may appear in children's social groups. A South Korean short story that uses this phenomenon as a social setting is "Dangsin Eommaga Dangsinboda Jalhaneun Geim" by Park Seo-ryeon. This qualitative research discusses how the story describes the game phenomenon in children's social groups. This paper uses the sociology of literature approach and focalization analysis. It also aims to explore how a literary work utilizes literary devices in presenting unique social phenomena. This short story shows how gaming becomes closer to the protagonist's life as a mother in an era of rampant game development. It describes games' impacts on children's social groups, such as social pressure to be good at playing games, gaming course, and relationships with parents. Furthermore, it uses the second-person pronoun when referring to the mother character and appoints her as the focalizer throughout the story. The story writer utilizes those strategies to form emotional engagement between the reader and the mother character. In this way, it is as if the reader has the experience of getting to know the 'real' world outside of the text about the game phenomenon in children's social groups through reading activity."
