"Stres merupakan masalah utama yang dihadapi oleh pekerja. Salah satu dampak dari stres ini adalah peningkatan kadar kolesterol. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai hubungan antara stres dengan kadar kolesterol pada karyawan di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas X. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara stres dengan kadar kolesterol. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain potong lintang dengan teknik konsekutif sampling dan jumlah sampel 101 responden. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan uji Fischer (karena tidak memenuhi syarat Chi Square). Pengukuran nilai stres menggunakan kueisioner SRQ 20 dan kadar total kolesterol melalui pengambilan darah dan diperiksa dengan alat self test cholesterol check.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan proporsi karyawan tidak memiliki gangguan stres 92,1% dan kadar kolesterol karyawan tinggi dengan nilai ≥ 200 mg/dL sebesar 66,3%. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistika menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan antara stres dan peningkatan kolesterol pada karyawan (p : 1.000). Hasil ini dapat disebabkan karena tidak menggunakan pengukuran kadar LDL dan HDL. Penelitian ini menyarankan pada karyawan untuk menerapkan gaya hidup sehat dan melakukan medical check up secara rutin agar dapat menjadi sarana evaluasi kesehatan.

Stress is one of main problem faced by workers. Stress increase cholesterol level in human body. This research described about correlations between stress and cholesterol level of medical faculty employees X University. The purpose is to identify the correlations between stress and cholesterol level. Cross-sectional research was conducted in 101 sample with consecutive technic sampling. Fischer procedure were used to asses the data in this research (not eligible the Chi Square). Stress level was measured by SRQ-20 questionnaire and cholesterol level was measured by checking blood sample with self-test cholesterol check.
Result of this research showed proportion of employees don?t have any stress disorder 92,1% and proportion of cholesterol level?s employees in high level with score ≥ 200 mg/dL are 66,3%. Based on statistic analysed showed that there?s no correlations between stress and cholesterol level (p : 1.000). This was because this research didn?t measure the LDL and HDL level. It suggest to employees to have a healthy life style and do routine medical check up as an evaluation of health status.

"Telah diketahui bahwa tanaman seledri (Apium graveolens L) mengandung asam lemak tidak jenuh, sehingga memungkinkan tanaman tersebut sebagai obat penurun kadar kolesterol. Untuk membuktikan hal tersebut penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah sari air herba seledri memiliki efek terhadap kadar kolesterol total dan lemak total pada tikus putih yang diberi diit tinggi kolesterol dan lemak. Pada percobaan ini digunakan 30 (tiga puluh) ekor tikus putih jantan dengan berat badan 150 sampai 200 g dan berumur 4 bulan menjadi lima kelompok. Kelompok pertama merupakan kontrol normal yang diberi diit standar. Kelompok kedua merupakan kontrol perlakuan yang diberi diit tinggi kolesterol dan lemak (2,5 g/200 g BB/hari.) selama enam minggu. Kelompok perlakuan Kelompok III, IV dan V masing-masing mendapat diit tinggi kolesterol dan lemak yang sama jumlahnya dengan kelompok kontrol perlakuan dan bahan uji peroral dengan dosis berturut-turut 0,14 g/200 g 5BB/hari, 0,72 g/200 g BB/hari dan 3,6 g/200 g BB/hari. Setelah enam minggu perlakuan, tikus dibedah, darahnya diambil melalui jantung, lalu diukur kadar kolesterol total dan lemak totalnya. Dari hasil percobaan, dapat diketahui bahwa ketiga dosis sari air herba seledri yang digunakan, menunjukkan adanya efek penurunan kadar kolesterol total dan lemak total namun secara statistik penurunan ini belum bermakna."

"Rendahnya kadar kolesterol HDL dalam darah dapat menyebabkan berbagai penyakit seperti Penyakit Jantung Koroner (PJK), hypetensi dan stroke. Beberapa penyebab rendahnya kadar kolesterol HDL diantaranya adalah kebiasaan merokok, kurang aktivitas, obese dan konsumsi kurang serat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kolesterol HDL, diantaranya adalah kebiasaan merokok, jenis kelamin, obesitas, aktifitas dan konsumsi serat. Tujuan lainnya juga ingin mengetahui variabel yang dominan mempengaruhi kadar kolesterol HDL. Desain yang digunakan adalah crossectional dimana seluruh variabel diukur dalam bersamaan dan dalam waktu yang bersamaan pula. Populasinya adalah seluruh keluarga yang ada di Indonesia. Adapun tenknik pengambilan sampel diambil secara multi stage sampling dengan penentuan besar sampelnya dilakukan dengan cara Probabelity Prorsional Size (PPS) dan pengambilan sampel akhir dilakukan secara simple random sampling (SRS). Data yang dikumpulkan berdasarkan laporan data sekunder yang ada di IFLS tahun 2007/2008 lalu data diolah dengan cara mergering dan transforming berdasarkan tujuan hasil akhir analisis yang diinginkan. Analisa data menggunakan desain compleks sampling dengan analisis Logstik regression yang tujuan melihat variabel yang berhubungan dengan kadar kolesterol HDL melalui pengontrolan variabel saat analisis.
Hasil dari analisis diperoleh nilai OR yang paling tinggi atau dominan adalah jenis kelamin yaitu sebesar 2,640 pada 95 % CI (2,255 - 3,092) kemudian disusul oleh kebiasaan merokok berat 2,549 pada 95 % CI (1,613 - 4,028), kebiasaan merokok sedang 1,679 pada 95% CI (1,348 - 2,091), obesitas 1,543 pada 95% CI (1,345 - 1,771) , konsumsi serat 1,253 pada 95% CI (1,109 - 1,417), aktifitas 1,193 pada 95% CI (1,056 - 1,348). Semua variabel yang masuk dalam model menunjukkan nilai p < 0,05 yang artinya baik kebiasaan merokok(ringan, sedang dan berat), jenis kelamin, obesitas, aktifitas dan diet serat memiliki hubungan dengan kadar kolesterol HDL. Dari hasil tersebut juga menunjukkan adanya proporsi kasus yang tinggi pada orang yang memiliki kebiasaan merokok, jenis kelamin laki-laki, obese, aktifitas kurang dan konsumsi serat kurang. Diantara variabel di atas yang paling dominan pengaruhnya adalah jenis kelamin. Beberapa hal yang direkomendasikan pada pihak terkait tinggi kasus kadar kolesterol HDL dan beberapa variabel yang mempengaruhinya diataranya pada pembuat kebijakan agar senantiasa melakukan upaya-upaya mencegah kadar kolesterol tidak normal melalui pelarangan merokok, melakukan olah raga mengatur diet lemak dan diet serat sehingga demikian dapat terhindar dari resiko terjadinya serangan jantung akibat banyak mengandung kolesterol tinggi.

Low level cholesterol HDL could lead to variety of diseases such as Coronary Heart Desease (CHD), hypertension and stroke.This study aimed to identify factors associated with HDL cholesterol, such as smoking habit, sex, obesity, activity and fiber consumtion. Another aim would also like to know is the dominant variable affecting HDL cholesterol. The study desain use is crossectinal where all the variables measured in the same time and at the same time too. The population is entire family in Indonesia. the sampling technique ins multi-stage sampling done by Probability Proportional to Size (PPS) and the final sampling done by Simple Random Sampling (SRS). Data collected based on existing secondary data report on the IFLS the year 2007/2008 and processed by transforming based on objective analysis. Analysis of data using complex sampling desain with logistic regression analysis with the aim of seeing the variables associated with HDL cholesterol level by controlling variables during analysis.
Results obtained from analysis of the highest OR value or dominat is gender that is equal to 2,640 at 95%(2,255 - 3,092) and was followed by heavy smoking 2,549 at 95% CI (1,613 - 4,028), moderat smoking 1,679 at 95% CI (1,348 - 2,091), obesity 1,543 at 95% CI. (1,345 - 1,771), fiber consumtion 1,253 at 95 % CI (1,109 - 1,417), activities of 1,193 at 95% CI (1,056 - 1,348). All variables included in the model shows p value < 0,05, wich mean both smoking habit (mild,moderate and severe), sex, obesity, activity and dietary fiber has a relationship with HDL cholesterol. From these results also showed a high proportion of cases in people who have the habit of smoking, male gender, the obese, less activity and less dietary fiber. Among the variables at the top of the most dominant influence is gender. Some of the things recommended in the case of hight HDL cholesterol level to policy makers is to continue to make efforts to prevent abnormal cholesterol level through a ban on smoking, exercise and dietary fat regulate dietary fiber that can thus avoid the risk of heart attack because many contain high cholesterol."

"Penelitian ini adalah diketahuinya pengarub pemberian jus anggur 300 gram per hari selama dua minggu terhadap kadar NO serum laki-laki dan perempuan dengan kadar kolesterol total batas tinggi. Penelitian ini merupakan sebuab field trial, membandingkan Ul subyek dalam kelompok yang mendapatkan jus anggur disertai penyuluhan TIC (P) dengan 17 subyek dalam kelompok yang hanya mendapatkan penyuluhan 1LC (K). Subyek yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian dibagi menjadi dua kelompok dengan randomisasi sederhana. Data yang diambil melipoti usia, jenis kelamin, riwayat hiperkolesterolemia dalam keluarga, akrivitas fisik, indeks massa tubuh (IMT), asupan energi, lernak, kolesterol, serat, dan polifenol dengan food record. Pemeriksaan kadar kolesterol total dan NO serum dilekukan di awal dan ekhir perlekuan. Analisis data menggunakan uji t tidak berpasangan dan uji Mann Whitney dengan batas kernaknaan 5%. Sebanyak 18 subyek pada kelompok P dan 14 subyek pada kelompok K, dengan rerata usia 35,57±5,20 tahun mengikuti penelitian secara lengkap. Indeks akrivitas fisik subyek kedua ke!ompok termasuk di bawah rata-rata. Data awal tidak didapatkan perbedaan bermakna (p>O,OS). Setelah dua minggu perlakuan, didapatkan persentase asupan energi terbadap kebutuhan energi total termasuk kategori cukup pada kelompok perlakuan dan kurang pada kontrol. Asupan lemak total dan kolesterol kadua kelompok adalah tergolong cukup. Asupan serat tergolong kurang. Terdapat perbadaan bermakna asupan polifenol pada kedua kelompok selama perlakuan (p<0,05). Terdapat peningkatan kadar NO serum sesudab perlekuan pada kedua kelompok yang tidak berbeda bermakna (p>O,OS), bahkan terdapat penurunan kadar kolesterol total serum pada kedua kelompok sesudah perlekuan meskipun tidak berbeda bermakna (p>0,05) dan masih dalam kategori batas tinggi. Pemberian jus anggur 300 gram per han tidak didapatkan perbedaan bermakna peningkatan kadar NO serum antara kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of grape juice (that made from 300 grams of grapes per day) during two weeks on serum NO level in male and female subjects with borderline high total cholesterol level. The study was a field trial Thirty five subjects were selected using certain criteria and randomly (simple randomization) divided into two groups. The treatment group (n=18) received grape juice and nutrition counseling; the control group (n=l7) received nutrition counseling. Data obtained directly from the subjects were age, gender, history of hypercholesterolemia in .subject's family, physical activity, and body mass index, intake of energy, fat, cholesterol~ fiber and polyphenol using food record. Laboratory findings of serum NO level and total cholesterol level were done before and after intervention. For statistical analysis, unpaired t-test and Mann Whitney were used with the level of significance was S%. Eighteen subjects in the treatment group and fourteen subjects in the control group completed the study and analyzed. Mean of age was 35.57±5.20 years old. The physical activity index of bath groups were low. The characteristics of the two groups were closely matched at base line (p>O.OS). After two weeks intervention, subjects? energy consumed in the treatment group achieved the recommended diet, while in the control group was below. The average intake of total fat and cholesterol in both groups achieved the recommended diet, but the fiber intake were below. The average intake of polyphenol in the treatment group was increased significantly than the control group (pQ.05). There were decreased on serum total cholesterol level in bath groups, although not statistically significant (p>O.OS). The effect of gyape juice for two weeks did not significantly increase serum NO level in the treatment group.

Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian simplisia Alphitobius sp. terhadap konsentrasi kolesterol total plasma darah tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus L.) jantan galur Sprague-Dawley. Dua puluh empat ekor tikus dibagi dalam 6 kelompok perlakuan yang terdiri atas kelompok kontrol normal yang hanya diberi pakan standar, kelompok kontrol perlakuan yang diberi diet tinggi lemak, dan 4 kelompok perlakuan yang diberi diet tinggi lemak dan bahan uji simplisia Alphitobius sp. dengan dosis 2,25 mg/kg bb, 4,5 mg/kg bb, 6,75 mg/kg bb dan 9 mg/kg bb. Pemberian bahan uji dan diet tinggi lemak dilakukan selama 14 hari berturut-turut. Hasil uji Anava satu arah (P < 0,05) menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh yang nyata terhadap konsentrasi kolesterol total akhir pada semua dosis perlakuan. Penurunan konsentrasi kolesterol terbesar dicapai oleh kelompok dosis 4,5 mg/kg bb yang juga merupakan dosis efektif dalam menurunkan konsentrasi kolesterol total yang mendekati nilai kelompok kontrol normal.

A research was done in to determine the effect of simplicia Alphitobius sp. intake on plasma total cholesterol concentration in white male rat Sprague-Dawley (Rattus norvegicus L.). Twenty-four male rats were separated into six treatment groups consisting of normal control group that were given a standard diet, treatment control group fed a high fat diet , and four treatment groups that were given a high fat diet and simplicia Alphitobius sp. with a different dose (2,25 mg/kg bw, 4,5 mg/kg bw, 6,75 mg/kg bw and 9 mg/kg bw). Provision of test material was done every day for 14 consecutive days. The result of one-way Anava test (P < 0,05) indicates that there is a significant effect on total cholesterol concentration at all treatment doses, showed that provision of simplicia Alphitobius sp. lower total cholesterol potentially. The biggest decrease of total cholesterol concentrations was achieved by dose 4,5 mg/kg bw, which is also an effective dose in lowering total cholesterol concentrations approached normal value.
