"Ketahanan ikatan resin komposit-dentin merupakan salah satu penentu keberhasilan restorasi resin komposit. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis efek klorheksidin terhadap degradasi kekuatan ikat resin kompositdentin.
Metode: Dua puluh empat sampel dentin yang diambil dari mahkota gigi premolar, dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok yang diberikan perlakuan berbeda. Kelompok I diberi perlakuan bahan bonding tanpa klorheksidin, kelompok II diberi perlakuan klorheksidin dan bonding, kelompok III diberi perlakuan bonding mengandung klorheksidin, pada tiap kelompok dibagi menjadi 2 sub-kelompok yaitu kelompok tanpa direndam dan kelompok yang direndam NaOCl 10% selama satu jam, sehingga didapat enam sub-kelompok. Kemudian seluruh kelompok di ukur kekuatan ikat gesernya menggunakan Universal Testing Machine. Satu sampel dari setiap sub-kelompok dilakukan Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Data dianalisa statistik dengan uji hipotesis Kruskal Wallis yang dilanjutkan dengan uji Mann-Whitney.
Hasil: rerata kekuatan ikat geser sebelum perendaman NaOCl 10% tertinggi kelompok I sedangkan rerata kekuatan ikat geser setelah perendaman NaOCl 10% tertinggi pada kelompok III. Terdapat perbedaan bermakna antara kelompok I terhadap kelompok II dan antara kelompok II terhadap kelompok III.
Kesimpulan: Klorheksidin mempunyai efek terhadap pengurangan degradasi kekuatan ikat geser resin komposit-dentin.

Resilience of composite resin-dentin bonding known as one of success composite resin restoration determinants. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of chlorhexidine on reducing the degradation of composite resin-dentin shear bond strength.
Methods: Twenty-four premolar crowns were divided into three groups then given different treatments. Group I was treated material bonding without chlorhexidine, group II was treated with chlorhexidine and bonding, group III was treated with chlorhexidine-contained bonding. Each group was divided into two sub-groups: the group without immersion of NaOCl 10% and the group with immersion of NaOCl 10% for one hour, then it were obtained six sub-groups. After twenty-four hours, shear bond strengths measured using Universal Testing Machine. A sample of each group was photographed with Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Statistical analysis was done by Kruskal Wallis test, then followed by Mann Whitney test to determine significance between groups.
Results: The mean value of shear bond strength before immersion of NaOCl 10% was highest on Group I, while the mean value of shear bond strength after immersion of NaOCl 10% was highest on Group III. There are significant differences between Group I with Group II and between Group II with Group III.
Conclusion: Chlorhexidine have an effect on reducing the degradation of shear bond strength of resin-dentin bonding.

"Latar Belakang: Penggunaan adhesif universal sebagai sementasi pasak fiber dalam restorasi pasca endodontik populer digunakan karena sifatnya yang serbaguna sehingga dapat diaplikasikan dengan metode total-etch maupun self-etch. Namun, penelitian mengenai perbedaan push-out bond strength (PBS) antara kedua metode tersebut masih terbatas. Tujuan: Mengetahui perbedaan PBS dan failure mode antara metode total-etch dan self-etch sistem adhesif universal pada sementasi pasak fiber. Metode: Tiga puluh gigi premolar rahang bawah yang baru diekstraksi disimpan di dalam air terdeionisasi yang kemudian dilakukan pemotongan mahkota sebelum dilakukan perawatan saluran akar dan preparasi ruang pasak. Pasak kemudian disementasi dengan semen resin dualcure self-adhesive dan bahan adhesif Prime&Bond Universal (PBU). Uji PBS dilakukan untuk mengukur kekuatan ikat geser masing-masing kelompok uji. Kegagalan ikatan kemudian diobservasi menggunakan Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Hasil: Kelompok self-etch memiliki kekuatan ikat yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelompok lainnya dengan perbedaan yang bermakna (p<0.05). Tidak terdapat perbedaan kegagalan adhesif yang signifikan di antara kelompok. Kesimpulan: Metode self-etch memiliki kekuatan ikat paling baik dibandingkan dengan kelompok uji lainnya, namun tidak terdapat perbedaan failure mode pada setiap kelompok.

Background: Universal adhesives for fiber post cementation in endodontically treated teeth have become popular in clinical dentistry as they can be applied in either total-etch or self-etch mode, due to their reduced number of application steps and versatility. However, studies regarding comparison between the two modes are limited and insufficient. Aim/Objective: The aim of the study is to analyze and compare the pushout bond strength and failure mode of the multimode universal adhesive system. Materials and Methods: Thirty freshly extracted mandibular premolars were decoronated prior to a root canal treatment (RCT) and prepared for post placement and bonded using Prime&Bond Universal (PBU). Post was then cemented using dual-cure self-adhesive resin cement. The push-out bond strength (PBS) test was performed to measure the shear bond strength using a universal testing machine (UTM). Failure mode was then observed using scanning electron microscope (SEM). Results: One-way ANOVA followed by a post-hoc Bonferroni and Independent T-Test indicated that there is significant difference (p<0.05) between the bond strength of the total- and self-etch mode of the universal adhesive system. However, no differences in failure mode are observed between groups. Conclusion: Self-etch mode is more preferable due to its higher bond strength dominated with cohesive failure indicating its success in bonding with the root canal

"[ABSTRAK
Resin komposit merupakan bahan restorasi direk dengan teknik aplikasi yang sangat sensitif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efek kontaminansi saliva dan darah setelah etsa terhadap kekuatan ikat geser antara resin komposit dan email. Dua puluh lima spesimen email (n=25) secara acak dibagi dalam lima kelompok berdasarkan bahan kontaminasi dan metode pembersihan kontaminan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rerata kekuatan ikat geser tertinggi adalah kelompok kontrol, sedangkan yang terendah adalah kelompok kontaminasi darah dengan etsa ulang. Antara kelompok kontrol dengan kelompok kontaminasi terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan. Sebagai kesimpulan, kontaminasi saliva dan darah menyebabkan penurunan kekuatan ikat geser antara resin komposit dan email;Composite resin is a direct restorative material with highly sensitive application technique.

Between control group and contamination group were significantly different. "Latar Belakang: Ketika prosedur restorasi, kekuatan ikatan restorasi adhesif pada struktur gigi berkurang setelah prosedur perawatan intrakoronal bleaching.. Sementara itu, Antioksidan buatan merupakan zat yang menghambat oksidasi radikal bebas karena antioksidan buatan mempunyai stabilitas lebih tinggi terutama vitamin C dan E. Uji kekuatan ikat geser dapat menilai kekuatan pengikatan sistem bonding ke permukaan dentin gigi secara optimal. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kekuatan ikat geser dentin pascableaching intrakoronal yang ditumpat resin komposit yang bermakna tanpa dan dengan waktu tunggu 7 hari, dengan aplikasi antioksidan vitamin C dan vitamin E. Metode: Sampel 36 dentin gigi premolar non-vital digunakan pada penelitian ini. Setiap sampel permukaan dentin dihaluskan dengan silikon 600 grit kertas (SiC). Lalu dilakukan perawatan bleaching intrakoronal diaplikasikan ke seluruh spesimen dan dibagi menjadi empat kelompok. Spesimen dentin disiapkan tanpa waktu tunggu yang dinyatakan oleh kelompok satu, spesimen dentin disiapkan dengan waktu tunggu tujuh hari yang dinyatakan oleh kelompok dua, spesimen dentin disiapkan dengan aplikasi antioksidan vitamin C yang dinyatakan oleh kelompok tiga dan spesimen dentin disiapkan dengan aplikasi antioksidan vitamin E yang dinyatakan oleh kelompok empat. Reflectys Universal Restorative Composite Resin Nanohybrid Gen 8 th digunakan dalam penelitian ini dalam penumpatan resin komposit. Setelah itu, Seluruh spesimen disimpan dalam air saline steril selama 24 jam pada suhu 37°C. Seluruh spesimen diuji dan dicatat nilai kekuatan ikat geser (MPa) dengan menggunakan alat uji Universal Testing Machine. Hasil: terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna kekuatan ikatan geser dentin pascableaching intrakoronal yang ditumpat resin komposit antara kelompok perlakuan yang signifikan secara statistik. (p<0,05). Kesimpulan: Kekuatan ikat geser dentin pascableaching intrakoronal yang ditumpat resin komposit mengalami peningkatan signifikan setelah aplikasi antioksidan vitamin C dan E.

Background: When restoration procedures, the bond strength of the adhesive restoration to the tooth structure is reduced after the intracoronal bleaching treatment procedure. Meanwhile, synthetic antioxidants are substances that inhibit free radical oxidation because artificial antioxidants have higher stability, especially vitamins C and E. The shear bond strength test can optimally assess the strength of the bonding system to the tooth dentin surface. Objective: The aim of this study to determine the significant differences in shear bond strength of dentin after intracoronal bleaching of composite resin without and with a waiting time of 7 days, with the application of antioxidants vitamin C and vitamin E. Methodes: Samples of 36 non-vital premolar dentin were used in this study. Then the dentin surface samples were smoothed with 600 grit (SiC). After that, Intrakoronal Bleaching was applied to all specimens and divided into four group. Specimens were prepared without the waiting time that represented by group one, Specimens were prepared with a waiting time of seven days that represented by group two, Specimens were prepared with the application of the antioxidant vitamin C that represented by group three and Specimens Dentin was prepared with the application of the antioxidant vitamin E that represented by the group four. Reflectys Universal Restorative Composite Resin Nanohybrid) were used in this study. After that, all specimens stored in sterile saline water for 24 hours at a temperature of 37°C. Then, all specimens were tested and the shear bond strength (MPa) value was recorded using the Universal Testing Machine. Results: There was a statistically significant difference in shear bond strength of dentin after intrakoronal bleaching on composite resin between treatment groups. (p<0.05). Conclusions: The shear bond strength of intracoronal post-bleaching dentin on composite resin increased significantly after the application of the antioxidant vitamin C and E."
