"The problem of viability of hybrid systems is considered in this work. A model for a hybrid system is developed including a means of including three forms of uncertainty : transition dynamics, structural uncertainty, and parametric uncertainty. A computational basis for viability of hybrid systems is developed and applied to three control law classes. An approach is developed for robust viability based on two extensions of the controllability operator. The three-tank example is examined for both the viability problem and robust viability problem.The theory is applied through simulation to an active magnetic bearing system and to a batch polymerization process showing that viability can be satisfied in practice. The problem of viable attainability is examined based on the controllability operator approach introduced by Nerode and colleagues. Lastly, properties of the controllability operator are presented."

"Suatu sistem kendali yang baik harus mempunyai ketahanan terhadap disturbance dan mempunyai respon yang cepat dan akurat. Sering terjadi permasalahan dalam sistem kendali Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) bila dibuat sangat sensitif, maka respon sistem terhadap disturbance menghasilkan overshot/undershot yang besar sehingga kemungkinan dapat terjadi osilasi semakin tinggi. Bila dibuat kurang sensitif memang akan menghasilkan overshot/undershot kecil, tetapi akibatnya akan memperpanjang recovery time. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, diterapkan sistem kendali hybrid yaitu sistem kendali PID yang akan dihybridkan dengan sistem kendali logika fuzzy. Dalam sistem ini kendali utama adalah kendali PID sedangkan kendali logika fuzzy bekerja membantu untuk meminimalkan overshot/undershot yang terjadi dan juga meminimalkan recovery time dari respon sistem.Sistem kendali logika fuzzy yang didesain mempunyai 2 input yaitu error dan delta error dan output kecepatan motor. Besar output dari sistem kendali logika fuzzy hanya 50 % dari kendali PID. Hal ini dilakukan dengan membatasi semesta pembicaraan dari himpunan fuzzy untuk output. Dari desain sistem ini diharapkan sistem kendali secara keseluruhan yang merupakan hybrid antara PID dengan Kendali Logika Fuzzy dapat menghasilkan respon sistem yang lebih baik.

PID Fuzzy Logic Controller System for DC Motor Speed Control. A good controller system must have resilience to disturbance and must be able to response quickly and accurately. Problem usually appears when PID controller system was built sensitively hence the system?s respon to the disturbance will yield big overshot/undershot then the possibility of oscillation to be happened is excelsior. When the controller system was built insensitively, the overshot/undershot will be small but the recovery time will be longer. Hybrid controller system could overcome those problems by combining PID control system with fuzzy logic.The main control of this system is PID controller while the fuzzy logic acts to reduce an overshot/undershot and a recovery time. The fuzzy logic controller is designed with two input error and delta error and one output of the motor speed. The output of fuzzy logic controller should be only half of the PID controller for limiting entirely fuzzy output. This hybrid system design has a better respon time controller system than PID controller without fuzzy logic."

Oleh sebab itu untuk mengatasi kebutuhan tersebut, yang salah satunya adalah kebutuhan akan pelayanan pita lebar, perlu dikembangkan suatu teknologi yang tepat. Walaupun jaringan pelanggan pita lebar pada saat ini belum ada di Indonesia, dengan menggunakan teknologi tertentu layanan pita lebar (broadband service) sudah dapat diperoleh. Caranya adalah dengan mengimplementasikan teknologi Hybrid Fiber Coax (IFC) pads jaringan akses lokal pelanggan. Pelanggan yang berpotensi dapat memperoleh layanan pita Iebar dengan teknologi HFC tersebut adalah pelanggan perumahan di daerah urban dan metropolitan dan pelanggan bisnis dengan skala kecil. Dalam Tugas Akhir ini akan dibuat suatu analisa mengenai penyediaan layanan pica lebar ke pelanggan perumahan dan bisnis dengan mengimplementasikan teknologi Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) dalam jaringan akses lokal."
