Skripsi ini didasari oleh tujuan kami untuk memahami terlahirnya eksiton di
dalam graphene. Eksiton adalah quasipartikel yang mendeskripsikan keadaan
terikat antara sebuah elektron dan sebuah hole. Eksiton memiliki peranan yang
penting dalam teknologi berbasis semikonduktor, seperti photovoltaics, laser,
dan sebagainya. Skripsi ini tidak semata-mata bertujuan untuk mendiskusikan
tentang kemunculan eksiton, namun mengeksplorasi efek dari interaksi tolakmenolak
Coulomb di antara elektron-elektron yang menghasilkan efek korelasi;
