"Ikan Sidat (Anguilla spp.) menjadi salah satu jenis ikan konsumsi dengan kandungan gizi yang tinggi dan tingkat konsumsi yang tinggi di pasar lokal maupun internasional. Kelimpahan ikan sidat bersifat fluktuatif yang tergantung dengan kondisi habitatnya. Salah satu habitat penting bagi ikan sidat karena berhadapan langsung dengan Samudera Hindia. Faktor oseanografis yang mempengaruhi migrasi larva sidat menuju muara sungai adalah salinitas, suhu permukaan laut, klorofil-a, dan faktor oseanografis lainnya. Untuk mendukung kegiatan perikanan yang berdampak pada pendapatan masyarakat Kabupaten Sukabumi, perlu diketahui habitat optimal bagi larva sidat untuk kemudian didapatkan informasi kelimpahan larva sidat. Penelitian menggunakan metode penginderaan jauh dengan Algoritma Cilamaya (Kaffah, 2019) untuk menduga nilai salinitas, dan Algoritma Wibowo (1994) untuk menduga nilai klorofil-a. Penelitian dilakukan di muara Ci Letuh dan muara Ci Marinjung yang termasuk dalam Perairan Teluk Ciletuh berdasarkan bulan basah, bulan kering, dan bulan peralihan pada tahun 2019 dan 2020. Habitat larva sidat berdasarkan faktor oseanografis berada di sekitar muara Ci Letuh dan Ci Marinjung pada kedalaman 0 – 5 m. sebaran wilayah potensial terbentuk pada muara sungai pada bulan basah, pada muara dan tepi pantai pada bulan kering dan bulan peralihan I, dan cenderung menyebar pada bulan peralihan II. Terdapat keterkaitan antara wilayah potensial habitat larva sidat dengan aktivitas penangkapan larva sidat yang mana kegiatan tangkapan larva sidat oleh nelayan setempat dilakukan di muara Ci Letuh yang termasuk pada wilayah potensial pada bulan basah dan bulan peralihan I dengan hasil yang lebih banyak pada bulan basah dan berkurang pada bulan peralihan I.Hasil tangkapan paling banyak pada bulan basah, menurun pada bulan peralihan I, dan tidak ada aktivitas penangkapan pada bulan kering dan bulan peralihan II. Adanya pengaruh kearifan lokal nelayan sehingga tidak melakukan perluasan wilayah dan waktu tangkapan larva sidat pada wilayah potensial habitat larva sidat berdasarkan faktor oseanografis
Eel fish (Anguilla spp.) is one type of fish consumption with high nutritional content and a high level of consumption in the local and international markets. The abundance of eel fish is volatile depending on the conditions of their habitat. One of the important habitats for eel fish because it is directly facing the Indian Ocean. Oceanographic factors that influence the migration of eel larvae to the estuary are salinity, sea surface temperature, chlorophyll-a, and other oceanographic factors. To support fishery activities that have an impact on the income of the people of Sukabumi Regency, it is necessary to know the optimal habitat for eel larvae to be obtained information on the abundance of eel larvae. The research used the remote sensing method with the Cilamaya Algorithm (Kaffah, 2019) to guess salinity value, and Wibowo Algorithm (1994) to guess chlorophyll-a value. The research was conducted in Ci Letuh estuary and Ci Marinjung estuary which is included in Ciletuh Bay Waters based on the wet month, dry month, and transition month in 2019 and 2020. Habitat of eel larvae based on oceanographic factors is located around the estuaries Ci Letuh and Ci Marinjung at a depth of 0-5 m. Potential distribution of areas formed in the estuary in wet months, on estuaries and shores in dry months and transitional months I, and tends to spread in the second transition month. There is a link between the potential habitat area of eel larvae with the activity of catching eel larvae where the catch activities of eel larvae by local fishermen are carried out in the estuary of Ci Letuh which is included in the potential area in the wet month and transition month I with more results in the wet month and reduced in the transition month I. The catch is most in the wet month, decreasing in the transition month I, and no arrest activity in dry months and transitional months II. The influence of local wisdom of fishermen so as not to expand the area and time of catchment of eel larvae in the potential habitat of eel larvae based on oceanographic factors."

"A study on the structure of the gonad of Fluta alba was made in the Laboratory. Data concerning the sexuality and body length showed that the smallest female and male recorded were 17.6 and 21.1 cm respectively. It was also found that smallest intersexes were 25 to 29.9 cm. One of the intersexual eels collected had the longest body length, i.e. 64.4 cm. Histological evidence showed that the change of the gonad from female to male were usually found after the lost of ovarian tissues and of proliferation of the interstitial cells in the inner zone of the gonadal lamella. At the same time the formation of the testicular lobules occured by proliferation of spermatogonia. The karyotype of Fluta alba exhibited six pairs (12 chromosomes) and all chromosomes were metacentric. There were no differences in number and morphological structures of chromosomes among sexes, therefore it is suggested that the change of the gonadal function in F. alba is not a genetically inherited, but it might be due to the hormonal regulations produced by the gonad."

"Kapal pada saat ditarik di air mempunyai gaya hambat akibat kekentalan zat cair. Daya mesin yang dibutuhkan untuk mendorong kapal pada kecepatannya harus dapat mengatasi gaya-gaya hambat. Pengurangan hambatan dalam aliran fluida bisa didapat dengan memberikan zat aditif jenis polimer, surfactant, fibre, cat atau kekasaran khusus pada permukaan benda. Permukaan kulit ikan yang dilapisi dengan biopolimer cairan kental (lendir) adalah salah satu elemen pengurangan hambatan tarik.
Tujuan penelitian ini ialah upaya peneliti untuk mendapatkan pengurangan hambatan tarik pada kapal model dengan menempelkan kulit belut (monepterus albus) yang masih berlendir pada lambung kapal. Penempelan kulit belut diharapkan dapat menghasilkan pengurangan hambatan tarik dan ramah lingkungan. Pengurangan hambatan (drag reduction) didapat bila nilai kerugian hambatan gesek pada fluida yang di beri aditif nilainya lebih kecil dari fluida standart atau air. Pengukuran gaya hambat pada variasi kecepatan dan sarat kapal dilakukan dengan alat pull force gauge yang diletakkan pada haluan kapal. Penempelan kulit ikan belut pada lambung kapal sepanjang 20% dari panjang haluan kapal model.
When being pulled above water, ship has resisting force because of the viscosity. The engine power needed to push the ship in it's speed must be able to with the drag force. Reduction of the drag in a fluid current can be obtained by adding additive elements such as polymer, surfactant, fiber, paint or something that can add some roughness at the surface of a substance. The surface of fish skin that covered with biopolymer thick fluid (mucus) is one of the element that can reduce thedrag.The goal of this research is to get less drag in model ship by attachment of eel skin (monepterus albus) that still has it's mucus at the surface of the ship's body. The biopolymer additive substance hopefully can produce reduction in drag of the current and environmentally friendly. Drag reduction can be obtained if a loss in friction drag in a fluid that has given with additive is less than standard fluid or water. Measurement of drag force in variety of speed and laden ship is done with pull force gauge which attached with the forepeak model ship. Attachment of eel skin in hull is 20% from the stem (bow) of model ship."
