ABSTRACTAccording to renaca.ch, a consulate is the representation of the public administration of a country in a foreign town. Thus, the new Australian Consulate will represent Australia and help its citizens in Venice. The contents of a consulate is usually an office, a formal space. However, there are other spaces, other than offices, that fills a consulate such as residential, functions and others informal spaces. Therefore, there must be a means of separation between the spaces in order to prevent collision in activities. In this thesis, separation and division, inspired by Venetian Alleys, will be the design approach for the new Australian Consulate located in Venice, Italy. The design will respect Venice, Italy as the host town while representing Australian architecture and culture.
ABSTRAKMenurut renaca.ch, konsulat adalah representasi administrasi publik sebuah negara di kota asing. Oleh sebab itu, Konsulat Austalia yang baru akan merepresentasikan Australia dan membantu warganya di Venice. Pada umumnya, isi konsulat adalah kantor, ruangan formal. Tetapi, terdapat jenis ruangan lain, selain kantor, yang memuat sebuah konsulat seperti tempat tinggal, ruang multi-fungsi dan ruang informal lainnya. Oleh karena itu, harus ada pemisahan dan pembagian antar ruang agar tidak terjadi tumpang tindih antar aktivitas. Di dalam skripsi ini, pemisahan dan pembagian, yang terinspirasi dari gang Venesia, akan menjadi pendekatan desain untuk Konsulat Australia yang baru yang berlokasi di Venice, Itali. Desain ini akan menghormati Venice, Itali sebagai negara tuan rumah sementara merepresentasikan budaya dan arsitektur Australia."
