"ABSTRACTFenomena migrasi foreign fighter FF ke Suriah telah menjadi perhatian dunia internasional karena tingginya jumlah FF yang berpartisipasi dan beragamnya asal negara para FF tersebut. Salah satu migrasi FF yang menarik untuk dikaji adalah migrasi FF dari Belgia karena Belgia adalah negara dengan proporsi FF terbesar per kapita di Eropa. Sehingga, penelitian ini mengkaji penyebab migrasi warga negara Belgia menjadi FF di Suriah tahun 2011 sampai 2017. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan teori strukturasi dalam migrasi untuk menunjukkan pengaruh interaksi antara struktur dan agen dalam migrasi FF Belgia ke Suriah. Hasil analisis penelitian menunjukkan bahwa migrasi warga negara Belgia menjadi FF di Suriah merupakan bentuk agensi FF Belgia terhadap hambatan yang diberikan oleh struktur, yaitu negara Belgia. Oleh karena itu, secara umum dapat dikatakan bahwa migrasi FF terjadi karena adanya isu dan permasalahan sosial di negara asal mereka. Isu dan permasalahan sosial tersebut mendorong mereka untuk bermigrasi untuk mencari sesuatu yang lebih baik di tempat lain, yang tidak bisa mereka dapatkan di negara asalnya.

ABSTRACTForeign fighter FF migration to Suriah has become an international concern due to the high number and the diverse origin countries of the FF. One of the intriguing FF migration to study is FF migration from Belgia, due to the fact Belgia has the largest FF proportion per capita in Europe. This study examines the cause of the Belgian FF migration in Syria from 2011 to 2017. To answer the question, this study uses structuration theory in migration to show the influence of agent structure interaction in the Belgian FF migration to Syria. The result of the study indicates the Belgian FF migration to Syria is a form of agency against the obstacles cause by the structure, namely Belgium. Thereby, it could be said FF migration occurred because of societal problems in the origin country. Those societal problems are the catalyst for FF to migrate and looking for something better in another place, something that they could not get in their origin country."

"Belgia sebagai negara federal yang multilingual memiliki tiga wilayah otonomi dan tiga komunitas bahasa, salah satunya adalah wilayah Vlaanderen atau Flandria yang berbahasa Belanda. Setiap wilayah memiliki pemerintahan dan parlemennya masing-masing yang dipilih langsung dalam pemilihan regional. Dalam periode pemilihan, setiap partai politik berhak mempromosikan dirinya melalui kampanye, salah satunya dengan memanfaatkan penggunaan slogan. Slogan merupakan sebuah kalimat pendek yang merangkum sekaligus mempromosikan nilai-nilai yang dianut partai politik tersebut. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai penggunaan gaya bahasa dan pengaruhnya terhadap makna yang terkandung dalam slogan tujuh partai politik pemenang pemilihan parlemen regional di Vlaanderen tahun 2019 berdasarkan data yang dimuat oleh laman resmi verkiezingen2019.belgium.be. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan analisis menggunakan teori gaya bahasa dan makna. Penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa terdapat delapan jenis gaya bahasa yang digunakan dan penggunaannya memiliki beberapa fungsi, diantaranya yaitu untuk memperindah, menyampaikan kritik, memperkuat makna, dan membantu menyampaikan maksud baik dari makna yang terkandung.

Belgium as a multilingual federal country has three autonomous regions and three language communities, one of which is the Flemish region with a Dutch-speaking community. Each region has its own government and parliament which is directly elected in regional elections. During the election period, every political party has the right to promote itself through campaigns, one of which is by using slogans. A slogan is a short sentence that summarizes and promotes the values ​​of the political party. This research discusses the use of the figure of speech and its influence on the meaning in the slogan of the winning political parties in the regional parliamentary elections in Flanders in 2019 based on data published on the verkiezingen2019.belgium.be official page. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative which analysis is based on Wiertzema and Jansen's figure of speech theory and the theory of meaning by Geoffrey Leech. This research concludes that there are eight types of figures of speech used and their use has several functions, including to beautify, convey criticism, strengthen meaning, and help convey the good intentions of the meanings contained in the slogan."

"Gerakan wokisme telah menjadi subjek perdebatan intensif di beberapa negara, termasuk Prancis, Belgia, dan Swiss, mencerminkan kompleksitas politik dan sosial di era kontemporer. Dalam konteks ini, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami fenomena penolakan terhadap gerakan wokisme di ketiga negara tersebut. Melalui analisis wacana kritis, penelitian ini menggali narasi penolakan yang muncul di media serta pernyataan tokoh politik, terutama dari partai sentris-kanan dan sayap kanan. Hipotesis penelitian (ganti dengan asumsi) menyatakan bahwa faktor-faktor seperti identitas nasional yang kompleks, pengaruh politik kanan, dan narasi media yang dominan memengaruhi penolakan tersebut. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang dinamika politik dan sosial terkait penolakan terhadap gerakan wokisme di Prancis, Belgia, dan Swiss, serta kontribusi pada pengembangan teori dan metode analisis wacana kritis dalam konteks politik dan sosial yang beragam.

The phenomenon of wokism has sparked heated debates in recent years, particularly in countries like France, Belgium, and Switzerland, reflecting the complexities of contemporary politics and society. This research aims to understand the rejection of the wokism movement in these three nations. Through critical discourse analysis, the study explores the narratives of rejection appearing in media outlets and statements by political figures, particularly from centrist-right and right-wing parties. The research hypothesis suggests that factors such as complex national identities, right-wing political influence, and dominant media narratives contribute to this rejection. This study aims to provide a deeper understanding of the political and social dynamics surrounding the rejection of wokism in France, Belgium, and Switzerland, contributing to the development of critical discourse analysis theory and methods within diverse political and social contexts."

"ABSTRAKPenyerangan bom Brussel pada tanggal 22 Maret 2016 mendapat banyak perhatian dari media massa, baik cetak maupun elektronik dengan berbagai opini. Peristiwa tersebut menjadi trending topic di berbagai artikel surat kabar, baik surat kabar lokal Belgia seperti De Morgen dan De Standaard, maupun surat kabar Belanda seperti De Volkskrant dan NRC Handelsblad dengan opini yang berbeda-beda. Sebanyak 40 artikel surat kabar Belanda dan Belgia dijadikan korpus penelitian, yang kemudian dianalisis dengan aplikasi AntConc1 untuk meneliti opini media yang terdapat pada artikel tersebut. Hasil analisis korpus data menunjukan bahwa opini surat kabar Belanda cenderung lebih netral dibandingkan dengan surat kabar Belgia yang memuat berita mengenai kaum Muslim yang dikaitkan dengan organisasi IS pelaku pada peristiwa bom tersebut.

ABSTRACTBomb attack in Brussels on 22 March 2016 got a lot of attention on the internet and the mass media, print and electronic as well, with a variety of opinions. That incident became a trending topic in various newspapers, like local newspapers (De Morgen and De Standaard) from Belgium, and the Netherlands newspapers (De Volkskrant and NRC Handelsblad) with different opinions. A total of 40 articles of Netherlands and Belgium newspapers are used as the research corpus, which are analyzed by the application AntConc to examine the opinion of those media. The result shows that the Netherlands newspapers tend to be more objective and neutral than the newspapers of Belgium which has a discussion about Muslims which are associated with the IS organization."
