DBD adalah penyakit infeksi yang disebabkan oleh virus dengue, dan ditularkan oleh nyamuk Aedes aegypti. Berbagai upaya telah dilakukan untuk menanggulangi DBD di Indonesia, diantaranya adalah dengan program Pemberantasan Sarang Nyamuk dan penggunaan insektisida seperti malation dan temefos.
