Pelapisan dengan tungsten karbida banyak digunakan sebagai bahan pelapis memberikan kombinasi sifat mekanik ketangguhan tinggi, kekerasan tinggi, dan kekuatan yang baik. Pada penelitian ini 0,05 wt dan 0,15 wt MWCNT dicampur dengan proses ball milling pada larutan etanol dengan material serbuk WC Tungtec 10112. Sebelum pencampuran dengan WC Tungtec 10112 dilakukan, dispersi dan deagglomerasi dari MWCNT dilakukan melalui metode ultrasonikasi dengan larutan SDS. Proses semprot logam merupakan suatu proses perlakuan permukaan untuk memperoleh ketahanan aus yang lebih baik dari logam induknya dan bisa juga untuk memperbaiki dimensi material yang mengalami pengecilan. Pada penelitian iui digunrakan paduan babbitt sebagai umpan dalam bentuk umpan kawat yang dicairkan oleh nyala api dari gas oksigen-asetilen. Paduan babbit itu sering digunakan sebagai bantalan karena memiliki sifat tahan aus dan bersifat sebagai pelumas.
