"ABSTRAK
In this paper a new way of derivation of an evolution equation for short pulses in a dielectric waveguide including one model of a metamaterial waveguide is shown. This derivation model relies upon projecting to an orthogonal basis. In our case such orthogonal basis for cylindrical waveguides is chosen as Bessel functions. "

"This paper empirically examines the efficient market hypothesis (EMH) in the Islamic stock market
namely Jakarta Islamic Index by emphasizing on the random walk behavior and nonlinearity. In
the first step, we employ Brock et al. (1996) test to examine the presence of nonlinear behavior in
Jakarta Islamic Index. The evidence of nonlinear behavior in the indices, motivate us to use nonlinear
ESTAR unit root test procedure recently developed by Kapetanios et al. (2003) and Kruse (2011).
The nonlinear unit root test procedure fail to rejects the null hypothesis of unit root for the indices,
suggesting that Jakarta Islamic Index characterized by random walk process supporting the theory
of efficient market hypothesis. In addition, Lumsdaine and Papel (LP) test identified significant structural
breaks in the index series."

"Radio Over Fiber is a technique to transmit radio signal over optical fiber in wireless infrastructure network that give low - cost, practical usage, and flexibility system configuration advantage. However, Radio Over Fiber system has weaknesses from laser diode nonlinearity and fiber optic chromatic dispersion . Therefore, the performance of W-CDMA system which is integrated with Radio Over Fiber system is evaluated in this research. It will be analyzed and compared performance of W-CDMA system in eight scheme, which are influence different fiber length, influence of different lambda, influence of different data rate, influence of user amount, influence of channel coding, influence of interleaver, influence of different coding rate, and influence of nonlinearity . The results of simulation show commonly W-CDMA system integrated with Radio Over Fiber system have a good performance"

"This multi-contributed volume provides a practical, applications-focused introduction to nonlinear acoustical techniques for nondestructive evaluation. Compared to linear techniques, nonlinear acoustical/ultrasonic techniques are much more sensitive to micro-cracks and other types of small distributed damages. Most materials and structures exhibit nonlinear behavior due to the formation of dislocation and micro-cracks from fatigue or other types of repetitive loadings well before detectable macro-cracks are formed. Nondestructive evaluation (NDE) tools that have been developed based on nonlinear acoustical techniques are capable of providing early warnings about the possibility of structural failure before detectable macro-cracks are formed. This book presents the full range of nonlinear acoustical techniques used today for NDE. The expert chapters cover both theoretical and experimental aspects, but always with an eye towards applications. Unlike other titles currently available, which treat nonlinearity as a physics problem and focus on different analytical derivations, the present volume emphasizes NDE applications over detailed analytical derivations. The introductory chapter presents the fundamentals in a manner accessible to anyone with an undergraduate degree in Engineering or Physics and equips the reader with all of the necessary background to understand the remaining chapters. This self-contained volume will be a valuable reference to graduate students through practising researchers in Engineering, Materials Science, and Physics."
