ABSTRAK Makalah ini membahas tentang ciri-ciri gaya arsitektur Neo-Renaissance yang terdapat pada bangunan akademi
di Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Bangunan yang didirikan pada tanggal 1614 ini menyimpan kenangan akan masa
lalu akademisnya dan ikatan yang dekat terhadap kota dan provinsinya melalui desain bergaya arsitektur Neo-
Renaissance. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada makalah ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan
kajian pustaka yang disajikan secara deskriptif disertai dengan analisis data berdasarkan buku Illustre School.
Het academiegebouw, historisch hart van academisch Groningen (2006). Penulis akan memperlihatkan ciri-ciri
gaya Neo-Renaissance yang terdapat pada bangunan akademi tersebut serta fungsi gaya arsitektur Neo-
Renaissance yang diaplikasikan pada setiap ruangan. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan secara nyata bahwa
bangunan akademi di Rijksuniversiteit Groningen sangat kental terhadap gaya arsitektur Neo-Renaissance.
ABSTRACT This paper discuss the characteristics of the Neo-Renaissance style which can be found in the academy buildingin Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. The building which was established in 1614, has memories of the past about theiracademic background and close ties to the city and province through the design using the Neo-Renaissance style.The research method which was used in this paper is a qualitative method with using a literature review whichwill be presented descriptively and analysis of data based on the book Illustre School.
