"Minangkabau ethnic group known is very strictly implement custom of matrilineal. One of these values is male position (sumando) that marginal, because according to matrilineal custom, a man is urang asing (outsiders) in the group of women (wife families). This is expressed through the proverb bak abu diateh tunggua (like ashes on the stump). This position of course is not profitable, so that they have to negotiate with the women to strengthen ?the identity of maleness" of them. It shows the politics movement of Minangkaba?s men in an effort to show and strengthen their identity. This political identity of Minangkabau?s man will be understood identity politics Minangkabau men will be understood in the case of the existence of traditional institutions. The research assumption, in Minangkabau society that embraces and strengthens matrilineal custom (women custom) was found that traditional institutions more dominated by men. While traditional institutions for women does not stand out, impress hidden, and there is no variation than bundo kanduang (the main women). This article to described how men of Minangkabau through traditional institutions reinforce the position, while the bundo Kanduang?s position only limited powers in rumah gadang alone. Moreover, bundo Kanduang understood even without any power, because bundo kanduang just as the wife of penghulu (clan leaders)."

"

Masjid-masjid abad XIX di kabupaten Agam, Sumatra Barat, sebagai warisan budaya benda dapat memperlihatkan perpaduan antara adat Minangkabau dan agama Islam di wilayah Sumatra Barat, khususnya Kabupaten Agam. Masjid-masjid ini adalah Masjid Bingkudu, Masjid Kubang Putih, Masjid Pincuran Gadang, dan Masjid Siti Manggopoh. Dari berbagai unsur yang ada di masjid-masjid tersebut, ditarik makna untuk mendapat gambaran bagaimana adat dan agama di Sumatra Barat berpadu. Interpretasi akan makna yang dikandung masjid-masjid tersebut dilakukan menggunakan model semiotik Peirce tentang segitiga tanda. Dengan metode ini, setiap tanda yang terdapat pada bangunan masjid dibedah menjadi representamen, objek, dan interpretan, yang kemudian menggambarkan makna. Dengan menggabungkan makna dari setiap tanda, didapat kesimpulan bahwa meskipun adat dan agama ini adalah dua hal yang berbeda dan memiliki beberapa nilai yang cenderung bertentangan, tetapi adat Minangkabau dan agama Islam dapat berpadu secara harmonis di masyarakat muslim Minangkabau pada abad XIX.


Nineteenth-century mosques in Agam district, Sumatra Barat, are example of tangible heritage that can picture how Islam religion and Minangkabau custom blends in Sumatra Barat, especially in Agam district. These mosques are Masjid Bingkudu, Masjid Kubang Putih, Masjid Pincuran Gadang, and Masjid Siti Manggopoh. From various elements the mosques have, it can draw meanings to know how Minangkabau custom and Islam religion unite. The method to get the meanings is by Peirce’s semiotics with his sign triangle. With this method, each sign in the mosques splitted into representamen, object, and interpretant, in which can explain the meanings. By combined interpretations from all signs, eventhough Minangkabau custom and Islam religion is a two different thing and have some value that tend to contradict one anonther, in fact Minangkabau custom and Islam religion can harmonically cohered in Minangkabau muslim society.

"Manusia senantiasa mengembangkan kearifan Iingkungan (ecological wisdom) berdasarkan pengalamannya beradaptasi secara aktif, sebagai pedoman daiam mengolah sumber daya alam dan mengelola lingkungan, karena ketergantungannya pada lingkungan hidup dan menyadari akan arti pentingnya keseimbangan Iingkungan yang harus dirawatnya. Adat Minangkabau merupakan mekanisme adaptif yang dikembangkan masyarakatnya dan memiiiki iandasan filosomi dasar alam terkembang jadi guru, merupakan aouan norrnatif periiaku yang sarat mengandung unsur-unsur pelestarian lingkungan. Melalui peran pendidikan, pewarisan nilai adat menjadi efektif digunakan sebagai sarana pelestafian Iingkungan Salingka Danau.
Penelitian ini bertuiuan untuk menemukan pemahaman masyarakat Salingka Danau terhadap konservasi lingkungan yang berkaitan dengan kualitas pelestarian Iingkungan Saiingka Danau, menemukan pemahaman masyarakat Salingka Danau trhadap pewarisan nilai adat Minangkabau yang berkaitan dengan pelestarian lingkungan, dan membuat model pewarisan nilai adat Minangkabau yang efektif digunakan sebagai sarana pelestarian lingkungan Salingka Danau.
Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan secara kualitatif yang dikembangkan oleh Miles dan Hubemlan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan data primer dan sekunder yang meliputi anaiisis fokus dan sub fokus. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi langsung, pengisian angket, Serta in depth inten/iew dengan responden terpilih. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan analisis jaringan hubungan sebab akibat.
Hasil peneiitian rnenunjukkan bahwa.- pelestarian Iingkungan dapat didukung oleh pemahaman terhadap konservasi lingkungan yang berinteraksi positif dengan pemahaman terhadap pewarisan nilai adat, dimana adat Minangkabau berisi berbagai nilai adat yang dapat diwariskan dengan model yang melibatkan berbagai komponen, sehingga pewarisan nilai adat menjadi efektif sebaga? sarana dalarn pelestarian Iingkungan Danau.

Human often improverecotogicai-wisdom as guidance to process natural resources and 'manage environment due to their independences on living environment and their realization of importance of environmental balance that has to be maintained. The ecological wisdom which is improved based on experience adapting actively will function as guidance to construct relationship with the environment. Minangkabau custom is adaptive mechanism improved by its society, has philosophical basis of nature improved to be teacher. Environmental conservation of Salingka Lake can be supported by understanding about lake environmental conservation which is positively interacted with understanding about inheritance of Minangkabau custom value. Minangkabau custom contains various custom value which can be inherited with model involving education function so that custom value inheritance will be effectively used as facility in Salingka Lake conservation.
The purpose of this study is to know about factors which cause decrease of environmental quality in Maninjau lake area, to find a part of Minangkabau custom being able to be inherited through education in environmental cosenration, and to make a model of custom vaiue inheritance will be effectively used as facility of environmental conservation lake.
Research methods used are qualitative approach improved by Miles and Huberman. Data collection is done with primary and secondary data involving analysis of focus and sub focus. Techniques of data collection are done by directly observation, questionnaire, and in depth intenriew with chosen respondents. Data analysis in this study uses analysis of cause-effect relationship. network.
The result of this study shows that environmental conservation can be supported by understanding of environmental conservation interacting potively with understanding of custom value inheritance Minangkabau custom consist of various custom value inherited with a model including various components, so that custom value inheritance will be effective as a facility in environmental conservation.
