Penggunaan teori Barat dalam penelitian indigenous tetap dipergunakan mengingat masih sedikitnya literatur berdasarkan teori lokal. Padahal penelitian budaya dengan menggunakan teori Barat secara bulat dapat menghasilkan temuan yang bias. Karena itulah peneliti lokal perlu kehati-hatian dalam mengaplikasikan teori Barat.
