"Wa merupakan konsep yang mengandung nilai dan norma yang membentuk sikap dan perilaku orang Jepang demi tercapainya keharmonisan sosial. Konsep wa lebih mengutamakan kepentingan kelompok sehingga terbentuk homogenitas pada sifat orang Jepang. Masalah yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini adalah perlawanan terhadap konsep wa yang ditunjukkan melalui lagu Watashi Rashiku Ikite Mitai yang dinyanyikan oleh Little Glee Monster. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan bagaimana perlawanan lagu Watashi Rashiku Ikite Mitai terhadap konsep wa dilihat melalui sudut pandang postmodern. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kualitatif deskriptif analisis. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah lagu Watashi Rashiku Ikite Mitai mengangkat isu individualitas untuk melawan konsep wa. Hal yang menarik adalah adanya paradoks dalam perlawanan lagu tersebut. Lagu tersebut berupaya untuk melawan konsep wa, namun tetap mengutamakan keharmonisan yang merupakan prinsip konsep wa itu sendiri. Berdasarkan teori Narasi Besar dari Jean Francois Lyotard, lagu Watashi Rashiku Ikite Mitai merupakan salah satu contoh bentuk perlawanan terhadap konsep wa di era postmodern di Jepang.

Wa is a concept that contains values and norms which build Japanese people characters and behavior for social harmony. Wa concept values group interest which lead to homogeneity in Japanese people behavior. This paper aims to describe how rebellion towards wa concept that showed in Watashi Rashiku Ikite Mitai song lyrics which sang by Little Glee Monster in postmodern point of view. Using qualitative method, this paper found that Watashi Rashiku Ikite Mitai song lyric is raising individuality issue against wa concept. Also there is paradox in the song lyric. It challenges wa concept, but in other side it still holds harmony principle itself. Based on grand narrative theory, the song lyric is one of form that challenges wa concept as grand narrative in Japan postmodern."

"Homoseksualitas telah dianggap sebagai masalah yang sangat kontroversial di Indonesia. Namun, Glee, sebuah serial TV Amerika yang memiliki konten LGBT yang kuat dan disutradarai oleh seorang showrunner homoseksual bernama Ryan Murphy, ditayangkan di stasiun TV Indonesia yaitu RCTI dan GlobalTV dari 2010 hingga 2011 dan kembali ditayangkan di 2015 dan diterima dengan baik oleh penonton Indonesia. Survei daring dan wawancara mendalam dilakukan untuk mengungkap persepsi penonton Indonesia tentang Glee. Menggunakan konsep respon audiens oleh Stuart Hall, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa meskipun para responden menikmati tontonan serial ini, Glee diterima dengan baik di Indonesia karena unsur-unsur musikal dan dramatisnya menutupi konten LGBT-nya yang kuat.

Homosexuality has been considered a highly controversial issue in Indonesia. However, Glee, an American series which has strong queer content and directed by an openly homosexual showrunner Ryan Murphy, was aired on Indonesian TV stations namely RCTI and GlobalTV from 2010 to 2011 and again in 2015 and well-received by Indonesian audience. Online survey and in-depth interviews were conducted to unravel Indonesian audience perception of Glee. Using Stuart Halls concept of audience response, this research found that although the respondents enjoyed watching the series, Glee is well-received in Indonesia because its musical and dramatic elements overshadow its strong queer contents."

"Skripsi ini membahas pengaruh institutionalized heterosexuality terhadap karakter-karakter termarginalisasi di Glee, serta strategi-strategi yang digunakan oleh karakter-karakter tersebut untuk bertahan dan mensubversi nilai-nilai tersebut. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan analisis tekstual yang berfokus pada perkembangan karakter perempuan dan karakter non-heteroseksual. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Glee menampilkan institutionalized heterosexuality sebagai nilai-nilai yang represif, kuat, dan kasar. Kemudian, Glee mempromosikan penerimaan dan penghargaan diri sebagai sebuah alternatif alih-alih mematuhi nilai-nilai institutionalized heterosexuality. This mini thesis discussed the influence of institutionalized heterosexuality to the marginalized characters in Glee and the strategies used by the characters to survive and subvert the norms. This is a qualitative textual analysis research which focused on the character development of the female and the non-heterosexuals.

This research found that Glee portrays institutionalized heterosexuality as repressive, powerful, and violent norms. Moreover, Glee promotes the self-acceptance and self-embracing as the alternative instead of conforming the institutionalized heterosexuality. Through these two points Glee subverts the institutionalized heterosexuality."
