"At present time, the augmentation of "regionalism" has become a striking feature of international economic relations. The motives toward regionalism itself are complex: a belief that economic integration through regionalism is conducive to growth, disillusionment with the framework for global integration, or simply a defensive reaction to the formation or reinforcement of other trading blocs. Regionalism does not merely embrace economic perspective since it also emphasizes on the cultural, social, and political aspects of human existence. This writing calls for an analysis of the paths which Indonesia chooses in pursuing its policies and objectives in the greatly dynamic regionalism and international economic framework. This writing restricts its scope on three domains of observation: ASEAN, APEC, and G20 and beyond."

"Meningkatnya kadar emisi CO merupakan salah satu indikator penurunan kualitas lingkungan. Pembangunan perekonomian suatu negara melalui berbagai sektor sebagai wujud pemerintah meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakatnya. Selain ditopang dari kemampuan dalam negeri, investasi menjadi kerja sama yang baik bagi negara investor maupun negara yang menerima investasi tersebut. Penanaman Modal Asing Langsung atau Foreign Direct Investment dapat diimplementasikan melalui pembangunan perusahaan maupun transfer teknologi yang secara tidak langsung dapat menghasilkan residu yang dapat mencemari lingkungan, salah satunya emisi CO2. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penanaman modal asing langsung atau foreign direct investment (FDI) terhadap emisi gas karbon dioksida (CO2) di negara anggota G-20. Data yang digunakan adalah FDI, emisi CO2, GDP per kapita sektor industri dan GDP per kapita sektor transportasi dari negara anggota G-20. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan data panel dengan pendekatan metode Generalized Method of Moments (GMM), periode analisis dari tahun 2005 sampai tahun 2021. Hasil estimasi GMM menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari FDI terhadap emisi CO di negara anggota G20.

The increased CO2 indicator is one of the factor environments degrading quality. Economic development of a country through various sectors shows implementation of its governments to build the wellbeing of society. However, the factors it’s not only supported by domestic, investment being the great cooperation between the investor country and the investing country. Foreign direct investment shall be implemented through company development and technology transfer that indirectly results in residues which are able to pollute the environment, one of the causes is CO2. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of foreign direct investment carbon dioxide (CO2) emission in the member of G-20 countries. The data collected from this study are, FDI, CO2 emission, GDP per capita of industry sector, and GDP per capita of transportation sector of G-20 member countries. This study utilizes a data panel with Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) method, sampled from analysis period 2005 until 2021. GMM estimates that there are significant impacts of FDI to CO2 emission in members of G-20 countries."

"Batalnya kehadiran Presiden Rusia Vladimir Putin untuk mewakili delegasi Rusia di pertemuan KTT G20 Bali tahun 2022 menarik perhatian publik dan media massa baik itu dari dalam negeri maupun luar negeri. Penelitian tugas akhir ini ingin meneliti mengenai point of view atau sudut pandang sebuah media massa asing khususnya media massa ABC News (Australia) yang meliput serangkaian kegiatan acara KTT G20 Indonesia di Bali dan media massa asal Rusia Vesti.ru sebagai komparasi akan kehadiran Menteri luar negeri Sergey Lavrov yang menggantikan posisi kepala negara Rusia Vladimir Putin. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian framing yang lebih memfokuskan kepada berita-berita media massa ABC News, dan Vesti.ru. Media massa ABC News dan Vesti.ru dipilih karena media massa ini cukup banyak dalam meliput rangkaian acara KTT G20. Liputan konten atau isi berita dan analisis framing yang dibuat oleh media ABC News akan penulis teliti berdasarkan berita-berita yang sudah terbit pada rentang waktu akhir tahun 2022. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa media massa ABC News lebih condong mengikuti apa perkataan negara-negara Barat seperti menyudutkan posisi Rusia ke dalam konflik perang dan tidak menghiraukan pendapat dari delegasi Rusia, sedangkan media Vesti.ru lebih memperlihatkan kepada kejadian atau fakta yang ada di lapangan berupa data-data objektif bukan narasi-narasi negara Barat untuk menolak kehadiran delegasi Rusia di KTT G20 Bali.

The cancellation of the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin to represent the Russian delegation at the G20 Bali Summit in 2022 has attracted the attention of the public and mass media both domestically and abroad. This final project research wants to examine the point of view or point of view of a foreign mass media, especially the mass media ABC News (Australia) which covers a series of activities at the G20 Indonesia Summit in Bali and the mass media from Russia Vesti.ru as a comparison of the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov has replaced Russian head of state Vladimir Putin. This study uses a framing research method that focuses more on news from the mass media ABC News and Vesti.ru. The mass media ABC News and Vesti.ru were chosen because these mass media cover quite a lot of events in the G20 Summit. The writer will examine content coverage or news content and framing analysis made by ABC News media based on news that has been published at the end of 2022. The results of the analysis show that the ABC News mass media is more inclined to follow what Western countries say, such as cornering Russia's position in the war conflict and did not pay attention to the opinions of the Russian delegation, while the Vesti.ru media showed more events or facts on the ground in the form of objective data not narratives from Western countries to reject the presence of the Russian delegation at the Bali G20 Summit."

"Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis peran Indonesia sebagai anggota G20 pasca KTT G20 2022 yang diselenggarakannya, dengan menggunakan analitik data canggih. Penelitian ini menyelidiki bagaimana penyelenggaraan acara seperti KTT G20 mempengaruhi kedudukan ekonomi dan politik Indonesia, serta kesesuaiannya dengan Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs) dan kawasan ASEAN. Studi ini menggunakan berbagai sumber data, termasuk data perdagangan, kehadiran asing, dan teks legislatif, dengan menerapkan metode seperti analisis jaringan dan deret waktu untuk evaluasi yang komprehensif. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa penyelenggaraan mega-event tersebut mengarah pada peningkatan yang signifikan dalam hubungan luar negeri Indonesia, peningkatan kehadiran internasional, dan hasil ekonomi yang positif. Selain itu, penelitian ini menyoroti posisi unik Indonesia sebagai satu-satunya anggota ASEAN di G20, yang memberikan keuntungan strategis yang belum sepenuhnya dimanfaatkan. Studi ini juga mengidentifikasi indikator SDGs utama yang harus diprioritaskan oleh pembuat kebijakan Indonesia, seperti kesetaraan gender, aksi iklim, pendidikan berkualitas, dan kemitraan untuk tujuan-tujuan tersebut. Kesimpulannya, penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya terus menyelenggarakan acara internasional dan menyelaraskan kebijakan nasional dengan standar global untuk meningkatkan kedudukan global Indonesia dan mendorong pembangunan berkelanjutan. Wawasan ini bertujuan untuk memandu pembuatan kebijakan di masa depan, terutama dalam konteks prioritas ekonomi Indonesia yang terus berkembang dan keterlibatan internasionalnya.

This study focuses on analyzing Indonesia's role as a member of the G20 post the 2022 G20 Summit it hosted, using advanced data analytics. It investigates how hosting events like the G20 Summit affects Indonesia’s economic and political standing, and its alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the ASEAN region. The study utilizes a range of data sources, including trade data, foreign presence, and legislative texts, applying methods like network and time-series analysis for a comprehensive evaluation. The results indicate that hosting the mega-events leads to significant improvements in Indonesia's foreign relations, increased international presence, and positive economic outcomes. Additionally, it highlighted Indonesia's unique position as the only ASEAN member in the G20, providing strategic advantages yet to be fully exploited. The study also identified key SDG indicators that Indonesian policymakers should prioritize, such as gender equality, climate action, quality education, and partnerships for the goals. In conclusion, the research underscores the importance of continuing to host international events and aligning national policies with global standards to enhance Indonesia's global standing and foster sustainable development. These insights aim to guide future policy-making, particularly in the context of Indonesia's evolving economic priorities and international engagements."

"The latest global financial crisis was not merely provoked by the fate of the United States (US) financial and economic system. At a wider perspective, it is indeed a result of crisis in global governance which was caused by the exclusivity of state members playing role as decision makers in world economic and financial sector, and the weakness of surveillance as well as regulation concerning the dynamics of financial sector at the global stage. G20, therefore, has been a significant forum to respond to the global financial crisis and as an effort to establish a new world economic order that can cope with the dynamics of international changes. This writing is aimed to highlights: (i) The focus of Indonesian economic diplomacy within the G20 forum during the 2008-2009 global financial crisis; (ii) The opportunities and challenges that Indonesia faces in G20 during the crisis; and (iii) The implementation of global governance concept in international relations in the framework of G20."

"Salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan tingginya emisi karbon dioksida yaitu semakin cepatnya pertumbuhan urbanisasi dan industrialisasi, dimana saat ini seluruh dunia sedang fokus pada masalah ini karena dapat menyebabkan emisi global. Group of 20 atau G20 yang berisi 2/3 populasi dunia, berkontribusi sebesar 85% dari perekonomian dunia termasuk didalamnya perdagangan dan investasi, mengakibatkan grup ini menjadi contributor utama terhadap semakin meningkatnya emisi karbon dioksida di dunia. Tesis ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara urbanisasi dan industrialisasi terhadap emisi karbon dioksida dengan menggunakan metode panel regresi pada periode 1992 – 2014. Hasil utama dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Dampak dari industrialisasi pada emisi karbon dioksida menunjukkan hubungan yang positif dan signifikan, sedangkan  urbanisasi hubungannya positif namun tidak signifikan terhadap tingginya tingkat emisi karbon; (2) Dari hasil analisa, pengembangan sumber energi terbarukan (renewable energy) dapat berkontribusi dalam menurunkan kadar emisi karbon di udara, selain itu, semakin padatnya jumlah penduduk dalam 1 km² wilayah juga dapat mengurangi emisi karbon di wilayah tersebut. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, mendorong pengembangan sumber energi terbarukan dan mengaplikasikan penggunaan energi terbarukan dalam kegiatan industry di negara-negara G20 merupakan pendekatan yang paling tepat untuk menurunkan kadar emisi karbon di atmosphere tanpa harus menghambat pertumbuhan perekonomian negara tersebut.

A rapid growth of urbanization and industrialization contribute to the increase of CO₂ emissions level, in which the world pays a big concern because it has led to global warming. The G20 represents about two-thirds of the world’s population, 85% of global economic output, and over 75% of global trade and investment, which make it, be partly responsible for the increase of carbon emissions in the world. This paper wants to observe the relationship of both urbanization and industrialization on CO₂ emission by using panel regression approach covering the period 1992 – 2014.

These are the main results that can be exposed. First, the impact of industrialization on CO₂ emissions is positive and significant, while urban population is positive but not significantly affects CO₂ emissions. Second, the analysis also presents a clear result that developing renewable energy decreases emissions level. Interestingly, more densely populated area is turning to decrease CO₂ emissions. To address these matters, promoting the development of renewable energy and then implementing it on every industrial and service sector might become the most appropriate way to reduce the CO₂ emissions within the G20 countries without hindering the economic growth."
