" 4chan’s ROBOT9000 or /r9k/ imageboard has long had a controversial reputation. Many studies merely view this as being rooted in conservative values and hegemonic masculinity. This paper aims to question this by analyzing the masculinity of the /r9k/ subculture through how it is represented in Wojak memes found on the imageboard.
