Data dan informasi ketenagakerjaan Depnaker menuliskan bahwa dari 189.607 perusahaan di Indonesia yang wajib lapor ketenagakerjaan terdapat 1.240 jumlah kasus kecelakaan kerja yang terjadi selama tahun 2006. Dari jumlah kasus tersebut tercatat 56 kasus berakibat cacat dan 15 kasus berakibat meninggal dunia. Angka kecelakaan kerja mengalami peningkatan drastis dari tahun sebelumnya.
