The sea becomes a biome that is associated with being a key to sustainability in the future life of humans – considering how the sea provides abundant resources and/or affordance towards the anthropogenic industrial and economic development. For the sake of ‘sustainability’, human exploit, force reclamation, and/or interfere the nature under the umbrella terms such as ‘blue economy’ and such. However in reality, humans have left much more anthropogenic footprints than what is visible to the eye, nor ironically demolishing the extant sustainability of the unfortunate community (e.g. traditional fishermen). This research will explore and reimagine the spatial potential of the oceanic noise pollution as the unheard and unseen substantive emission of the anthropogenic quest of sustainability. With the given context of the Cilincing’s traditional fishermen as the protagonist of the sea biome, this research will further interpolate the existing architectural – spatial definition of Cilincing’s traditional fishermen towards the sea biome as a redemptive response towards the extreme and quasi-dystopic case of the oceanic noise pollution."

Indonesia is known as an archipelagic country where most of its area is the sea, making coastal areas have large economic potential, one of which is the coastal area in Karawang regency. It must also be supported by good infrastructure design. As is known that infrastructure is the main key to advancing economic growth and improving the quality of human life. The purpose of this study is to identify infrastructure and design the infrastructure needed in the Karawang coastal area which can increase the income of fishermen and with the help of the development of information and communication technology. By conducting a survey to one of the sub-districts in the Karawang coastal area then proceeding to do descriptive statistical analysis and cross-analysis, found infrastructure such as roads, fish tanks, fisheries refueling stations, sanitation, clean water facilities, telecommunications and markets can help increase income coastal communities. Infrastructure conditions such as roads, fishermen refueling stations and fish auction sites there are already good but there are still some supporting facilities that are still lacking in the area so that the facility development plan is made and it is also found that information and communication technology development is needed by coastal communities from the way they get information everyday through the internet, telephone and television.

""This book explores contemporary maritime piracy in Southeast Asia, demonstrating the utility of using historical context in developing policy approaches that will address the roots of this resurgent phenomenon. The depth and breadth of historical piracy help highlight causative factors of contemporary piracy, which are immersed in the socio-cultural matrix of maritime-oriented peoples to whom piracy is still a thinkable option. The threats to life and property posed by piracy are relatively low, but significant given the strategic nature of these waterways that link the Pacific and Indian Oceans, and because piracy is emblematic of broader issues of weak state control in the littoral states of the region. Maritime piracy will never be completely eliminated, but with a progressive economic and political agenda aimed at changing the environment from which piracy is emerging, it could once again become the exception rather than the rule." -- Back cover."

"ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT
ASEAN Way has been frequently applauded by some scholars as the manifestation of shared belief in Southeast Asia. Some of them even recognize it as the fundamental basis of regional collective identity. However, Southeast Asian states engage great powers differently in addressing growing maritime security agenda through regional normative mechanism. Therefore, this research will investigate normative dynamics of how international maritime norms brought by great powers accepted by ASEAN member states. The aforementioned norms include Freedom of Navigation and Fishing. In so doing, this research shall proceed with two case studies which are territorial dispute in South China Sea, and illegal, unregulated, and unreported fishing. Thus, this paper shall discuss about the nexus between norms, maritime security, and great powers. "
