"Jumlah lanjut usia yang meningkat membuat tuntutan untuk tersedianya rumah perawatan lanjut usia di perkotaan semakin besar. Rumah perawatan lanjut usia yang tersedia salah satunya yang berada di Sasana Tresna Werdha Karya Bhakti Cibubur yang mengambil konsep dari rumah perawatan yang didalamnya terdapat standar pelayanan diantaranya dapat memenuhi kebutuhan lanjut usia yang mengalami hambatan komunikasi verbal. Karya ilmiah ini bertujuan menggambarkan asuhan keperawatan secara komprehensif untuk dapat berkomunikasi dengan lanjut usia yang mengalami hambatan komunikasi verbal dengan lip reading. Teknik lip reading dapat dilatih dan dikembangkan serta efektif untuk meningkatkan komunikasi lanjut usia yang mengalami hambatan komunikasi verbal, sehingga diharapkan pemberi pelayanan keperawatan dapat melatih dan menggunakan teknik lip reading ini kepada lanjut usia yang mengalami hambatan komunikasi verbal.

Increasing number of elderly people who make demands for aged care homes available in the larger urban areas. The one of elderly care homes are available is Sasana Tresna Werdha Karya Bhakti Cibubur which is taking the concept of home care service, and there is a standard which can meet the needs of the elderly who experience impaired to verbal communication. This paper aims to describe a comprehensive nursing care to be able to communicate with the elderly who are experiencing barriers to verbal communication with lip reading. Lip reading techniques can be trained and developed to enhance effective communication and the elderly who experience barriers to verbal communication. This techniques is expected to nursing care providers using lip reading for the elderly who experience impaired to verbal communication"
