"Pembatasan politik patriarki dan pemahaman kolektif masyarakat seringkali menghambat interpretasi sejati ekspresi diri perempuan, khususnya dalam konteks seksualitas dan erotisme. Artikel ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi peran erotisisme, sebagaimana disampaikan oleh Audre Lorde, dalam membentuk relasi lesbianisme yang memenuhi kebutuhan, memberikan kebebasan, dan memunculkan life force dalam diri perempuan. Stigma dan asumsi seputar hubungan lesbianisme diidentifikasi sebagai potensi penghalang bagi perempuan mencapai kebebasan. Melalui metode deskriptif-analisis dan pendekatan kualitatif, artikel ini menganalisis erotisme perempuan secara holistik, menunjukkan potensi untuk menciptakan dunia dalam relasi lesbianisme yang menjadikannya salah satu pilihan kebebasan perempuan. Pengumpulan data berbasis kajian literatur diterapkan untuk memperdalam pemahaman terhadap konsep dan makna yang membantu redefinisi konsep erotisisme dan lesbianisme. Artikel ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam memperkaya pemahaman literatur mengenai konsep erotisme, kebebasan, dan relasi perempuan, khususnya lesbianisme.

The constraints of patriarchal politics and collective societal understandings often impede the authentic interpretation of women's self-expression, particularly in the realms of sexuality and eroticism. This article aims to explore the role of eroticism, as articulated by Audre Lorde, in shaping lesbian relationships that fulfill women's needs, provide freedom, and evoke a life force within women. Stigmas and assumptions surrounding lesbian relationships are identified as potential barriers for women to attain freedom. Through a descriptive-analytical method and qualitative approach, this article holistically analyzes women's eroticism, demonstrating its potential to create a world within lesbian relationships that becomes one of the choices for women's freedom. Literature-based data collection is employed to deepen the understanding of concepts and meanings that contribute to the redefinition of eroticism and lesbianism. This article is expected to make a significant contribution to enriching the literature's understanding of the concepts of eroticism, freedom, and women's relationships, particularly lesbianism. "

"ABSTRAKThe main focus of this research is on the representation of lesbianism in Rookie magazine, while most previous studies only focus on heterosexual relationship represented in teen magazines. The method used in this research is textual analysis by utilizing the representation concept from Stuart Hall. Research findings show that Rookie portrays lesbianism in a romantic way; however, the romantic portrayal of lesbianism is merely used as a branding image. As a result, we can say that Rookie gives a different perspective about lesbianism to the American teenage girls."

"Karya sastra merupakan hasil dari rekaan seseorang terhadap realitas kehidupan yang disampaikan dalam bentuk tulisan. Sebuah karya sastra tidak lepas dari peran pengarang. Novel Perempuan Semusim (2005) merupakan karya sastra yang lahir melalui hasil pikiran, perasaan, pengalaman, ide-ide, dan gagasan Amitri Dinar Sari. Novel tersebut mengangkat isu lesbianisme. Lesbian merupakan orientasi seksual perempuan kepada perempuan yang ditunjukkan melalui perilaku seksual. Praktik lesbian di dalam novel Perempuan Semusim (2005) ditampilkan melalui gambaran perilaku seksual para tokoh perempuan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini membahas tentang orientasi seksual para tokoh perempuan dalam novel Perempuan Semusim (2005)  karya Amitri Dinar Sari. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teori pedekatan intrinsik dan hermeneutik. Metode penelitian kualitatif adalah metode penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskriptif dalam bentuk narasi (Sutopo, 2006). Sementara itu, teori hermeneutik, yaitu ilmu interpretasi teks (Palmer, 1969). Hasil penelitian ini, yaitu ditemukan adanya dua pasangan perempuan yang memiliki orientasi seksual lesbian. Selain itu, ditemukan perilaku seksual para tokoh perempuan lesbian, seperti hubungan seksual dan ungkapan verbal seksualitas. Fenomena lesbian dapat disebabkan karena beberapa faktor, yaitu kegagalan dalam menjalin hubungan asmara dan lingkaran pergaulan antara perempuan dan perempuan.

Literature is the result of a person's imagination of the reality of life delivered from in written. A literary work cannot be separated from the role of the author.  Novel Perempuan Semusim (2005) is a literature born through the results of Amitri Dinar Sari's thoughts, feelings, experiences, and ideas. The novel raised the issue of lesbianism. Lesbian is a sexual orientation of women to women which is shown through sexual behavior. The practice of lesbians in the novel Perempuan Semusim (2005) is shown through a description of the sexual behavior of female characters. Therefore, this study discusses the sexual orientation of female characters in the novel Perempuan Semusim (2005) by Amitri Dinar Sari. This study uses qualitative research methods with intrinsic and hermeneutic approach theory. Qualitative research methods are research methods that produce descriptive data in the form of narratives (Sutopo, 2006). Meanwhile, hermeneutic theory, namely the science of interpreting texts (Palmer, 1969).  The results of this study, namely found two female couples who have lesbian sexual orientation. In addition, sexual behavior of characters of lesbian women was found, such as sexual relations and verbal expressions of sexuality. Lesbian phenomena can be caused by a number of factors, namely failure in having a love affair and relationships between women and women."

Reconsidering notions of the 'invisible' or 'apparitional' lesbian, Jodie Medd argues that lesbianism's representational instability, and the scandals it generated, rendered it an influential force within modern politics, law, art and the literature of modernist writers like James Joyce, Ezra Pound and Virginia Woolf. Medd's analysis draws on legal proceedings and parliamentary debates as well as crises within modern literary production - patronage relations, literary obscenity and cultural authority - to reveal how lesbian suggestion forced modern political, cultural and literary institutions to negotiate their own identities, ideals and limits. Medd's text will be of great interest to scholars and graduate students in gender and women's studies, modernist literary studies and English literature."
