Urban activities are inseparable from the demand for fossil fuel use, particularly in the transportation sector that continues to increase along with the population growth. Carbon dioxide emissions are produced by the sector of transportation, industry, and households regardless of the limited open space in urban areas at the same time will cause carbon regulation in DKI Jakarta to be disrupted and impact the greenhouse effect. This study aims to determine the economic valuation of carbon dioxide on tree stands vegetation by its carbon dioxide uptake and to analyze the sequestration ability of Fabaceae tree stands compared with the other families in Srengseng City Forest, West Jakarta. Result shows that the total economic value of carbon owned by the urban forests’ tree stands was US$ 5.407,57 or Rp.77.760.804/tonne CO2-e from its 1.502,10 tonnes/ha carbon sequestration or 16.523,12 tonnes. It is also proven that the Fabaceae family has the most prominent carbon economic valuation in urban forests with average price of US$ 138.72 or Rp.1,994,847/tonne CO2-e from carbon dioxide absorption of 38.53 tonnes/ha."

"This title discusses various effects of heavy metal exposure to legumes as well as the bioremediation potential of rhizosphere microbes. Availability of heavy metals, their uptake and the effects of metals on various signaling pathways within legumes are presented. Furthermore, the effects of heavy metals to nitrogen fixing microorganisms and how microsymbionts can overcome metal stress is presented in detail. The role of nitrogen fixers in decontamination of heavy metal toxicity, mycoremediation of metal contaminated soils, microbially mediated transformation of heavy metals and action of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria and nitrogen fixers together in detoxifying heavy metals are broadly explained."
