Identity conflict remains a prevalent issue in modern Western societies characterized by multiculturalism. One such example is the life of Orthodox Jews who adhere to strict religious and cultural traditions. This often leads to clashes with contemporary life for the younger generations. In the film The Awakening of Motti Wolkenbruch, the protagonist grapples with viii religious and cultural traditions to balance his life with modernity. The film's events also depict the relationship between Orthodox and non-Orthodox Jews, which becomes the catalyst for Motti's internal struggle with Jewish cultural and religious traditions. Therefore, this study aims to delve into the representation of identity conflict through the character of Motti in the film using a qualitative research method with a semiotic approach based on Christian Metz's theory. The findings reveal the presence of identity conflict manifested in Motti's attempts to express himself and his love for a shiksa, a non-Jewish woman, which is forbidden in contemporary Orthodox Jewish tradition. Additionally, the study identifies the film's connection to the Exodus story, a sacred event for the Jewish community that serves to unite the legacy across generations, and the journey of an Orthodox Jewish youth to balance past And present life from an individual experience."

Mir-Kasimo, Orkhan
"In Christian Apocalyptic Texts in Islamic Messianic Discourse Orkhan Mir Kasimov offers an account of the interpretation of these Christian texts by Fadl Allah Astarabadi (d. 796/1394), the founder of a mystical and messianic movement which was influential in medieval Iran and Anatolia. This interpretation can be situated within the tradition of positive Muslim hermeneutics of the Christian and Jewish scriptures which was particularly developed in Shıi i and especially Ismai li circles. Fadl Allah incorporates the Christian apocalyptic texts into an Islamic eschatological context, combining them with Quran and hadith material. In addition to an introductory study, the book contains a critical edition and an English translation of the relevant passages from Fadl Allahs magnum opus, the Javidan nama-yi kabir."

Pratt, Douglas
"Why did the Christian Church, in the twentieth century, engage in dialogue with Islam? What has been the ecumenical experience? What is happening now? Such questions underlie Douglas Pratts Christian Engagement with Islam: Ecumenical Journeys since 1910. Pratt charts recent Christian (WCC and Vatican) engagement with Islam up to the early 21st century and examines the ecumenical initiatives of Africas PROCMURA, Building Bridges, and the German Christian-Muslim Theological Forum, together with responses to the 2007 Common Word letter.
Between them, Islam and Christianity represent over half the earths population. Their history of interaction, positive and negative, impacts widely still today. Contentious issues remain real enough, yet the story and ongoing reality of contemporary Christian-Muslim engagement is both exciting and encouraging. "

Husseini, Sara Leila
"Early Christian-Muslim Debate on the Unity of God examines the writings of three of the earliest known Christian theologians to write comprehensive theological works in Arabic. Theodore Abu Qurra, Abu Raita and Ammar al-Basri provide valuable insight into early Christian-Muslim debate shortly after the rise of the Islamic empire.
Through close examination of their writings on the doctrine of the Trinity, Sara Husseini demonstrates the creativity of these theologians, who make use of language, style and argumentation characteristic of Islamic theological thought (kalam), in order to help articulate their long-established religious truths. Husseini offers close analysis of the authors individually and comparatively, exploring their engagement with Islamic theology and their role in this fascinating period. "

Sharp, Andrew M.
"The patristic, ecclesiological, and liturgical revival in the Orthodox Church has had a profound impact on world Orthodoxy and the ecumenical movement. Orthodox leaders have also contributed to the movements efforts in inter-religious dialogue, especially with Muslims. Yet this book is the first comprehensive attempt to assess an Orthodox position on Islam. It explains why, despite being neighbors for centuries, relations between Orthodox Christians and Muslims have become increasingly complex as internal and external forces challenge their ability to understand each other and live in peace. It demonstrates how a growing number of Orthodox scholars and leaders have reframed the discussion on Islam, while endorsing and participating in dialogue with Muslims. It shows how a positive relationship with Muslims (and Islam in a general sense) is an essential aspect of Orthodox Christians historical past, present identity, and future aspirations."

Cucarella, Diego R. Sarrio
"In Muslim-Christian Polemics across the Mediterranean Diego R. Sarrio Cucarella provides an exposition and analysis of Shihab al-Din al-Qarafis (d. 684/1285) Splendid Replies to Insolent Questions (al-Ajwiba al-fakhira an al-as ila al-fajira). Written in response to an apology for Christianity by the Melkite Bishop of Sidon, Paul of Antioch, the Splendid Replies is among the most extensive and most important medieval Muslim refutations of Christianity, and the primary significance of this study is to provide detailed access to its argumentation and intellectual context for the first time in a western language. Moreover, the Introduction and Conclusion creatively situate the work within the challenges of modern-day Christian-Muslim dialogue."
