"Kesusastraan yang menggambarkan latar atau yang ditulis oleh pengarang dari Indonesia timur menjadi semakin penting seiring dengan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai kesenjangan di daerah tersebut. Tulisan ini memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut dengan membahas novel Haniyah dan Ala di Rumah Teteruga karya Erni Aladjai. Novel tersebut menggambarkan masyarakat dalam lingkungan pertanian cengkih di Maluku yang hidup dalam toleransi dan terbuka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan narasi pengucilan dan pemilihan tokoh hantu dalam novel tersebut, termasuk perannya dalam mediasi konflik ketika terbatas dengan kehadirannya sendiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori pendekatan sosiologi sastra dan teori konflik yang dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif dan berbasis studi pustaka. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa tokoh hantu dalam novel tersebut digunakan untuk memberikan petunjuk terkait konflik, mendukung keefektifan cerita, memicu kesan emosional, dan menggambarkan sejarah penindasan pada masa kolonial. Meskipun dinilai sebagai pilihan yang abnormal, kehadiran hantu dalam narasi pengucilan membangun hubungan paralel untuk menyiratkan gagasan pengarang tentang kritik sosial atas sikap represif masyarakat dalam menyuarakan kebenaran dan terobsesi dengan mistikisme.

Literature that describes the setting or written by authors from eastern Indonesia is becoming increasingly important as there is public awareness of the gaps in this region. This paper fulfills this need by discussing the novel Haniyah dan Ala di Rumah Teteruga by Erni Aladjai. The novel describes the people in the clove farming environment in Maluku who live in tolerance and openness. This study aims to describe the narrative of excommunication and selection of the ghost character in the novel, including its role in conflict mediation when limited by its presence. This research uses a sociological approach to literature and conflict theory which is carried out using qualitative methods and based on library studies. This study found that the ghost character in the novel used to provide clues regarding the conflict, deliver the story more effectively, trigger emotional impressions, and describe the history of oppression in the colonial period. Even as an abnormal choice, the presence of ghosts in the excommunication narrative builds a parallel relationship to implying the author's idea of social criticism about society's repressive attitude towards speaking the truth and obsessed with mysticism."

"Jurnal ini membahas mengenai upacara pernikahan arwah yang terjadi dalam masyarakat Cina tradisional. Mempelai dari prosesi pernikahan ini adalah orang yang sama-sama sudah meninggal atau orang yang sudah meninggal menikah dengan orang yang masih hidup.Dalam konsep kehidupan masyarakat Cina, Yin dan Yang sangat berkaitan erat dengan kehidupan manusia. Setiap orang memiliki jiwa yang baik dan buruk, jiwa-jiwa tersebut setelah meninggal memiliki kebutuhan yang sama dengan manusia yang masih hidup, maka keluarga yang masih hidup akan berusaha untuk memenuhi kebutuhan leluhur atau kerabat yang meninggal terdahulu. Salah satunya adalah dengan melaksanakan pernikahan arwah. Peneltian ini secara khusus membahas apa saja yang menjadi latar belakang terjadinya pernikahan arwah dan bagaimana pernikahan ini dilaksanakan dalam masyarakat Cina.

This journal talks about the ghost marriage that occurs in traditional Chinese society. The bride and the groom of this marriage is a person who is both dead or in some cases, a deceased person married to a living person. In the concept of Chinese society life, Yin and Yang is closely related to human life. Everyone has a good and bad soul, the dead souls have the same needs as the living souls, hence the family of the dead souls will try to fulfill the needs of ancestor or relatives who died earlier. One of them is to carry out the ghost marriage. This research is focuses on the background of the ghost marriage and how this marriage is done in Chinese society."
