Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesulitan siswa dalam menguasai bentuk-bentuk derivasi. Berdasarkan hasil tes, dari keempat jenis pembentukan derivasi yaitu, verb (kata kerja), adjective (kata sifat), dan noun (kata benda), kesalahan yang paling banyak dilakukan siswa adalah kesalahan membentuk derivasi pada verb (kata kerja).
