"One important aspect of district public health service is the management and budgeting of drugs. Up to this time no indicators can be used yet as guidelines for evaluating drug management and budgeting effectiveness in a district in Indonesia. The objective of this study is to determine the effect of training managing drug
staff on the evaluation capability increase and their knowledge.
Training has been conducted twice in 2 provinces, 4 districts ex HP IV each, covering Dinas Kesehatan, GFK, 5 PHCs per district and 300 outpatients. There are 7 groups of indicator which include a total of 29 indicators. Training involved computation of indicators of drug management and budgeting in a district.Tests were carried out before training and after the first and second training. Data were analyzed using paired t-test for the effect of training on the increase of
knowledge and capability of managing drug staff in indicator computation for the evaluation of drug management and budgeting as well as linear regression for the relation between education and working experience of the staff and unpaired t-test for the difference in the increase in knowledge of pharmacy assistant and non pharmacy assistant. Results from the study on 54 managing drug staff in 8 district shows that knowledge increase significantly after the first and second training, whilst the latter increase is greater than the former one and that the increase in knowledge of pharmacy
assistant exceeds that of non pharmacy assistant."

"Drug is one of the essential elements in healthcare that should be effectively and efficiently managed. Following the
decentralization in 2001 in Indonesia, drug management has changed in district drug management units and also in
District General Hospitals. Certainly this condition influences the sustainability of drug access in primary health care
such as in Community Health Center and District General Hospital, especially in drug financing policy. A cross
sectional descriptive study to obtain information on drug management in public healthcare in district had been carried
out between July and December 2006 in 10 District Public Drug Management Units from 10 district health offices and 9
district general hospitals as samples. Data were collected by interviewing heads of Drug Section in District Health
Offices and heads of Hospital Pharmacies using structured questionnaires and observing drug storage in District Drug
Management Units, Community Health Centers, and Hospital Pharmacies. Results of the study show that drug planning
in District Health Offices and General Hospitals did not meet the basic real need in some districts nor District Hospitals.
The minimum health service standards had not been achieved yet. Furthermore, drug procurement, storage and
recording as well as reporting was not good enough either, such as shown by the existence of expired drugs. Lead time
for drug delivery to community health centers in some districts was longer than the average of lead time in the past 3 years."

"In the effort of increasing the prescription payment at the Dispansary of Kopkar RSUD Budhi Asih, it is necessary to have description regarding the factors connected with the action of prescription payment. In addition, the information about
the satisfaction of the patients who pay it at the dispensary is also needed. In the paper, the researcher used the cross sectional design, with the sample of 384 respondents, calculated with 5% level of significant and the used methods were univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. The result indicated that correlation
between the knowledge of the existence of Dispensary Kopkar and the action of the prescription payment was significant (p = 0,0048), the relationship between the attitude toward the prescription payment at the Dispensary and the action of paying was significant (p = 0,0000), the relationship between the fund availability and the action of paying the prescription was significant (p = 0,0291), the relationship
between the time availability and action of paying the prescription was significant (p = 0,0000) the relationship between the one who guarantee the cost and the action of paying the prescription was not significant (p = 0,863). From all dependent variabels, indicated that only knowledge of existence of Dispensary Kopkar, attitude toward the prescription payment at the Dispensary, fund availability and time availability who have relationship was significant (p < 0,05) with the action of paying the prescription."
