"ABSTRAKSetiap orang di dunia pernah mengalami kehilangan seperti kehilangan benda, kepercayaan, dan orang yang dicintainya. Khususnya untuk kehilangan seorang teman sangatlah menyedihkan terutama jika ia meninggal. Setiap orang yang ditinggalkan akan merasa sedih dan mereka akan mengekspresikan rasa duka cita mereka dengan menuturkan kata atau ungkapan tertentu seperti ?turut berduka cita atas kehilangan yang menimpamu?. Namun, ada beberapa cara lain untuk mengekspresikan duka cita. Jurnal ini memaparkan bagaimana orangorang mengekspresikan rasa duka cita mereka dan bagaimana mereka merespon berita tentang kematian dan bunuh diri Jochem, sang tokoh utama dalam film Spijt!. Jurnal ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dalam menganalisis pertuturan dari tokoh-tokoh dalam film Spijt! setelah kematian Jochem.Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ada dua cara untuk berbelasungkawa yaitu dalam bentuk verbal dan nonverbal. Bentuk verbal dilakukan dengan pertuturan lokusioner yang didengar oleh mitra tutur, contohnya pengumuman berita kematian Jochem dan pertuturan perlokusioner sebagai respon terhadap pertuturan ilokusioner ?Jeetje lieverd, me erg. Wat vreselijk.?. Sedangkan, bentuk non verbal direpresentasikan oleh bahasa tubuh dan mimik wajah.

ABSTRACT

Everyone in the world has experienced the loss of their belongings, trust, and their loved ones. In particular, losing a friend is very saddening, especially when he or she passed away. The ones who are left behind will be sad and they will express their condolences with certain sentences or words, such as, ?I am sorry for your loss?. However, there are some other ways to express condolences. This paper will identify how people express their condolences and how they respond to what they hear about the sudden death and suicide of Jochem, the main personage in the film Spijt!. Using the descriptive qualitative method, the speech acts of the remaining personages after the death of Jochem are being analysed.

The result of this study shows that there are two ways of expressing condolences, the verbal form and the non verbal form. The verbal form is represented by locutionary acts which are heard by the listener for example the announcement of Jochem?s death and the perlocutionary acts are responds to ilocutionary acts for example ?Jeetje lieverd, me erg. Wat vreselijk.? Meanwhile, the non verbal form uses the body language and the face expressions."
