"This research aimed to explain the existence of influence of interpersonal effective communication and leadership variables; individually and together, to the dependent variable of performance. In this research, communication variable is divided into two; vertical and horizontal/lateral communication with five indicators: openness, empathy, positive, support and similarity. Leadership variable is comprised of four indicators: good communication, delegation of authority, supervising, and ability to create good work condition.Research was conducted upon 71 respondents, which served as population of patent reviewers in Directorate Patent, Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights, Department of Law and Human Rights, R1. Data analysis technique in used is Linear Regression. First, the linear regression technique is used as simple linear regression between each independent variable (interpersonal communication or leadership) to patent reviewers' performance, to see the existence of influence of each independent variable to performance as dependent variable. Multiple regression technique is used to verify the influence of both independent variables (interpersonal communication and leadership) together to patent reviewers? performance.From these various analyzes, it was found that interpersonal communication individually has negative influence to patent reviewer performance, while together with leadership variable have no influence in enhancing level of performance. Based on respondents' opinion on interpersonal communication existed in Directorate of Patent Reviewer, both vertical and horizontal/lateral communications, is not a dominant factor which can influencing patent reviewers' performance because the level of satisfaction in communication has not optimally met. Meanwhile the independent variable of independent, individually or together, has a significant and positive influence to patent reviewers' performance, where good leadership will influence an enhancement on patent reviewers' performance at Directorate of Patent Reviewer."

"ABSTRAKBerdiri dan berkembangnya perusahaan startup multikultural membuat komunikasi antarbudaya dalam konteks tempat kerja tidak terelakkan. Penelitian kualitatif dengan tipe studi kasus empiris ini bertujuan untuk memahami pengalaman adaptasi dalam komunikasi antarbudaya yang dilakukan oleh karyawan asal Chengdu pada salah satu perusahaan startup di Jakarta dan bagaimana pengalaman adaptasi tersebut berperan dalam pembentukan budaya organisasi yang ada. Dalam studi ini ditemukan bahwa terdapat suatu pola adaptasi yang terbentuk dan berperan penting dalam pembentukan budaya organisasi; dan dengannya pula karyawan asal Chengdu berhasil melakukan proses adaptasi guna menjalankan pekerjaannya dan mencapai tujuan perusahaan.

The establishment and growth of multicultural startup company urge intercultural communication in work place context becomes inevitable. This qualitative research uses empirical case study attempts to comprehend the adaptation experience within intercultural communication that applies to Chengdu employee in a startup company in Jakarta and how the adaptation experience is taking role in order to form the existent organization culture. The study shows the pattern of adaptation and its significance in forming organization culture; within the adaptation pattern, Chengdu employee succeeding the adaptation process to run their job well and achieve the company goals.

"Tantangan yang ditemukan ibu bekerja dalam pengasuhan salah satunya adalah pengaplikasian komunikasi yang baik dengan remaja karena ibu bekerja dan remaja lebih banyak menghabiskan waktu di luar rumah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara mindful parenting dan komunikasi pada ibu bekerja yang memiliki anak berusia remaja. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 118 orang dengan karakteristik ibu bekerja sekaligus mengurus rumah tangga dan memiliki anak berusia 10-18 tahun (M= 13.68). Data dalam penelitian ini diambil menggunakan alat ukur Interpersonal Mindfulness in Parenting (IM-P) untuk mengukur mindful parenting dan Parent-Adolescent Communication Scale (PACS) untuk mengukur komunikasi antara ibu dan remaja. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif antara mindful parenting dengan komunikasi ibu–anak remaja (r= 0.610, n=118, p = 0.05, two-tailed). Maka dari itu, apabila ibu memiliki hasil skor mindful parenting yang tinggi, maka kemampuan komunikasi ibu anak akan lebih baik, begitupun sebaliknya.

One of the challenges faced by working mothers in parenting is the application of communication with adolescents because working mothers and adolescents spend more time outside the house. So, the aim of this study is to see the correlation between mindful parenting and mother-adolescent communication among working mothers with adolescents. Participants who took part in this study were 118 working mothers from various places in Indonesia and having adolescent (M= 13.68). The data were collected using Interpersonal Mindfulness in Parenting (IM-P) to measure mindful parenting and Parent-Adolescent Communication Scale (PACS) to measure the degree of communication between mother and adolescent. The result in this study indicates that there is a significant positive correlation between mindful parenting and mother-adolescent communication (r= 0.610, n=118, p = 0.05, two-tailed). Therefore, if a mother has a higher level in mindful parenting, she will have a better ability to communicate with adolescents and vice versa."
