" Artikel ini membahas afirmasi identitas dan ideologi tokoh utama dalam novel The Reluctant Fundamentalist karya Mohsin Hamid melalui analisis strategi narasi dan fokalisasi teks. Novel tersebut dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori Mieke Bal 1999 dan Shlomith Rimmon-Kenan 2003 . Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tokoh utama, sebagai narator primer-fokalisator, menunjukkan proses perubahan kesadaran identitas dan kecenderungan ideologi oksidentalisme tokoh utama. Lewat narasi dan fokalisasinya, tokoh utama yang merupakan seorang Pakistan menunjukkan usaha untuk menghapus dominasi Amerika yang ... "
