"Kemoterapi merupakan salah satu metode pengobatan kanker. Meskipun kemoterapi dapat membunuh sel kanker, pemberian kemoterapi intravena juga dapat menimbulkan cedera pada pasien yaitu ektravasasi. Ekstravasasi merupakan proses keluarnya cairan atau obat-obatan secara tidak sengaja ke jaringan sekitar. Identifikasi yang adekuat terhadap faktor yang berpotensi menyebabkan terjadinya ekstravasasi sangat penting untuk meminimalisir risiko ekstravasasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor - faktor yang berhubungan dengan terjadinya ekstravasasi pada pasien kanker yang medapatkan kemoterapi. Desain penelitian berupa deskriftif korelasional berupa cross sectional. Data diperoleh dari kuesioner pada observasi dari bulan juni 2022 sampai Mei 2022 yang didapatkan 17 kasus ekstravasasi dari 133 pasien yang mendapatkan kemoterapi (12,8%). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yang bermakna antara lokasi pemasangan infus dengan kejadian ekstravasasi (p=0,055) dan kondisi vena (p=0,014). Pemilihan lokasi vena dan memperhatikan kondisi vena sangat diperlukan untuk mencegah terjadinya ekstravasasi.

Chemotherapy is one of the methods of cancer treatment. Although chemotherapy can kill cancer cells, intravenous chemotherapy can also cause injury to the patient, namely extravasation. Extravasation is the process of accidentally releasing fluids or drugs into the surrounding tissue. Adequate identification of factors that have the potential to cause extravasation is very important to minimize the risk of extravasation. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the occurrence of extravasation in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. The research design is a correlational descriptive in the form of a cross sectional. Data were obtained from questionnaires on observations from June 2022 to May 2022 which obtained 17 extravasation cases from 133 patients receiving chemotherapy (12.8%). The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between the location of the infusion with the incidence of extravasation (p=0.055) and venous condition (p=0.014). Selection of the location of the vein and paying attention to the condition of the vein is needed to prevent extravasation."

Saat melakukan praktek residensi telah dilakukan berbagai rangkaian kegiatan yang berhubungan dengan permasalahan pasien kanker yaitu dengan memberikan asuhan keperawatan secara professional dan komprehensif kepada pasien-pasien kanker dan salah satu diantaranya adalah kanker Melanoma Malignan dengan menggunakan pendekatan teori peaceful end of life., melakukan suatu penerapan intervensi keperawatan yang berdasarkan Evidence Based Nursing yaitu penerapan terpai komplementer Abdominal Massage untuk mengurangi konstipasi akibat kemoterapi pada pasien kanker dan penerapan suatu proyek inovasi yaitu untuk mengatasi kecemasan pada pasien persiapan opersai kolorektal, dimana hampir sebagian besar pasien kanker mengalami anxietas atau kecemasan sehingga penerapan berupa edukasi terhadap pasien dengan persiapan operasi kolorektal dapat diatasi.
