"Secara umum, skripsi ini membahas tentang perubahan AKP dari partai politik Islamis menjadi partai politik pos-Islamis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apa saja yang melatarbelakangi proses perubahan AKP sekaligus bagaimana bentuk perubahan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksplanatif yang bertumpu padasumber-sumber yang bersifat sekunder. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa proses perubahan AKP dilatarbelakangi oleh tiga faktor utama, yaitu (1) faktor politik yang menyangkut partisipasi politik (2) faktor ekonomi mengenai kebijakan ekonomi neo-liberal dan (3) faktor militer yang menyangkut pada peran militer terhadap kelompok Islamis dalam politik Turki. Ketiga faktor tersebut berperan dalam mendorong perubahan AKP yang dapat dianalisis melalui pandangannya terhadap berbagai isu fundamental seperti Islam, sekularisme, dan demokrasi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa ketiga faktor tersebut (politik, ekonomi, dan militer) memainkan peranan penting dalam upaya mendorong perubahan AKP yang dilatarbelakangi oleh kepentingan material atau strategis ketimbang komitmen normatif.

Generally, this thesis investigates about the AKP transformation from Islamist party to post-Islamist party.The purpose of this research is to understand what factors lies behind the AKP transformation process and the form of that transformation. This research uses qualitative method with explanatory research which is supported by secondary sources. The result of this research found that the AKP transformation process caused by three main factors, (1) political factor which involves political participation, (2) economical factor which is about neo-liberal economy policy, and (3) military factor which involves military role towards Islamic groups in Turkish politics. These factors have influence to push the AKP transformation which can be analyzed through their view about fundamental issues, such as Islam, secularism, and democracy. The conclusion from this research is that those main factors (politics, economy, and military) play important role to push the AKP transformation which is caused by material or strategic interest rather than normative commitment."
