"Sistem detektor LPG dirancang untuk mengantisipasi efek negatif LPG sebagai bahan bakar. LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) adalah bahan bakar yang terdiri dari butana, propana, isobutana, dan zat pembau. Bahan bakar ini mempunyai efek negatif, yaitu apabila menguap di udara akan membentuk lapisan yang bersifat mudah terbakar. Hal ini sangat berbahaya apabila terjadi penumpukan. Sistem detektor LPG dibuat dengan menggunakan sensor gas MQ5 yang dihubungkan ke mikrokontroler. Keluarannya berupa tegangan analog yang mengindikasikan keberadaan timbunan LPG di udara. Apabila sensor MQ5 mendeteksi adanya timbunan LPG, maka mikrokontroler akan mengirimkan perintah ke modem GSM untuk mengirimkan SMS kepada pengguna.

LPG detector system is designed to anticipate negative effect of LPG fuel. LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) consists of butane, propane, isobutane, and odor element. This combustible gas has negative effect in that if vaporize, they will form combustible gas layers due to condensation. So it becomes dangerous if they accumulate in the closed space. This LPG detector system will be composed of MQ5 gas sensor interfaced with microcontroller. The output of the sensor is analog voltage that indicates the existence of accumulated LPG in the air. If LPG sensor detects the existence of accumulated LPG, the microcontroller notifies GSM modem to inform user by sending SMS."
