" The novel compounds of 3-hydroxypicolinyl serine penthyl penthanoyl ester (PSPPE) and 3-hydroxypicolinyl serine hexyl hexanoyl ester (PSHHE) were obtained from modification of the UK-3A that had been known to inhibit cancer cells growth. From this research it is expected to obtain analogous compounds that have higher activities. Synthesis of these compounds were carried out in three steps. The first step was esterification of L-serine with penthanol and hexanol using p-toluenesulfonic acid as catalyst in benzene ... "
