"Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji reliabilitas kuesioner frekuensi konsumsi makanan kariogenik, mengetahui status karies gigi, dan hubungan frekuensi konsumsi makanan kariogenik dengan status karies gigi pada anak usia 15-16 tahun di DKI Jakarta. Metode: Survei epidemiologi dilakukan dengan desain penelitian cross sectional. Pemeriksaan karies gigi dilakukan oleh satu pemeriksa, menggunakan indeks DMFT. Indeks DMFT digunakan untuk mencatat prevalensi karies gigi berdasarkan kriteria WHO. Selain itu juga memberikan FFQ/ Food Frequency Quetionare yang dijawab oleh subjek untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai frekuensi konsumsi makanan kariogenik, karakteristik anak, dan keadaan sosiodemografi. Data kemudian dianalisis dengan analitik komparatif. Hasil: Total sampel sebanyak 471 anak, dengan prevalensi yang mengalami karies gigi sebesar 75,4% dengan rata-rata 2,72. Kesimpulan: Status karies gigi pada anak usia 15-16 tahun di DKI Jakarta tergolong moderate, dengan rata-rata 2,72. Kedua kuesioner yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah reliabel. Karies gigi berhubungan signifikan dengan jenis kelamin, pendidikan ibu dan item makanan yogurt, perment mint, kripik, dan minuman bersoda.

Objective: This study aimed to examine the reliability of the questionnaire frequency of cariogenic food consumption, determine the dental caries status, and the relationship between the frequency of cariogenic food consumption and dental caries status in children aged 15-16 years in DKI Jakarta. Method: Epidemiology surveys were conducted with cross sectional study design. Dental caries was examined by one examiner, using DMFT index. DMFT index is used to record the prevalence of dental caries based on WHO criteria. FFQ / Food Frequency Quetionare answered by the subject to get information about the frequency of consumption of cariogenic foods, children's characteristics, and sociodemographic conditions. Data were analyzed with comparative analytic. Results: A total sample of 471 children, with a prevalence of dental caries of 75.4% with an average of 2.72. Conclusion: Dental caries status in children aged 15-16 years in DKI Jakarta is classified as moderate, with an average of 2.72. Both of questionnaires used in this study are reliable. Dental caries is significantly associated with gender, maternal education and food items such as yogurt, mint, mint, and carbonated drinks."

"Tujuan: Menganalisis perbandingan informasi self-perceived dengan diagnosis klinis status karies gigi anak usia 12-15 tahun.
Metode: Penelitian dengan desain cross sectional menggunakan kuesioner untuk mendapatkan informasi self-perceived dan pemeriksaan indeks DMFT dan PUFA dilakukan pada 494 anak di enam SMP Negeri di Jakarta.
Hasil: Hasil sensitivitas paling tinggi untuk indeks DMFT gold standard adalah dari pertanyaan kebutuhan perawatan, yaitu 0.86 dengan spesifisitas 0.23. Hasil spesifisitas paling tinggi adalah dari pertanyaan mengenai sakit gigi 0.89 dengan sensitivitas 0.26. Untuk indeks PUFA gold standard , sensitivitas tertinggi adalah pertanyaan pendapat keadaan gigi 0.92 dengan spesifisitas 0.57. Spesifisitas paling tinggi adalah pertanyaan mengenai sakit gigi 0.82 dengan sensitivitas 0.40. Prevalensi dan skor rata-rata DMFT dan PUFA berurutan adalah 68.4 dan 2.4; 17.6 dan 0.2.
Kesimpulan: Kuesioner lebih sensitif terhadap indeks PUFA sebagai gold standard dibandingkan dengan indeks DMFT. Informasi self-perceived yang didapat dari kuesioner tidak dapat dengan baik mengevaluasi status klinis karies gigi karena kurangnya persepsi anak terhadap sehat dan sakit.

Objective: To analyze the comparison of self perceived information and clinically diagnosed dental health status among children aged 12 15 years.
Methods: A cross sectional study using questionnaire to obtain self perceived information and clinical examination using DMFT and PUFA indices was performed on 494 children in six junior high school in Jakarta.
Results: The highest sensitivity for DMFT index as the gold standard was found in question about treatment need, 0.86 with specificity of 0.23. The highest specificity was found in question about dental pain 0.89 with specificity of 0.26. When using the PUFA index as the gold standard, the highest sensitivity was found in question about opinion regarding dental health, 0.92 with specificity of 0.57. The highest specificity was found in question about dental pain 0.82 with sensitivity of 0.40. The prevalence and mean DMFT and PUFA index was 68.4 and 2.4 17.6 and 0.2, respectively.
Conclusion: Questionnaire was more sensitive using the PUFA index as the gold standard than the DMFT index. Self perceived information obtained from the questionnaire were of low value in evaluating dental health status due to the lack of children rsquo s health and disease perception.

"Background: Protein is one of the nutrients that teeth need during growth, maturation and, after eruption. Protein consists of plantprotein and animal protein. Plantprotein has the highest average percentage of daily protein consumption inIndonesia.Plantprotein is found in nuts, tofu, and tempeh. The content of food sources of plantprotein has many benefits that are good for oral health.At the age of 8-9 years permanent first molar teeth have erupted they can experience caries within 1-2 years after eruption because of their morphological and functional characteristics. In children, dental caries is one of the most frequent chronic infectious diseases occur and have close links with nutrition.While snacks may also contribute to oral health problems.Aim: To determine the relationship between the level of consumption of plant protein and cariogenic food with the occurrence of permanent dental first molar teeth in children aged 8-9 years in Central Jakarta. Methods: This study isa cross-sectional observational analytic study. The subjects of the study were 109 children aged 8-9 years who were studying State Primary School in Central Jakarta. Teeth examined for permanent first molar teeth that have been erupted. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire and caries assessment using classification (ICDAS). Result:.The results of the study showed the frequency distribution of caries as follows; 1.8% caries free, 63.3% enamel caries, and 34.9% dentin-pulp caries. Meanwhile, consumption of vegetable protein with caries depth and consumption of snack foods with depth of caries both showed very weak correlation results (r = 0.00-0.199) and there was no statistically significant difference (P> 0.05).Conclusion: There is a very weak correlation between consumption of vegetable protein and snack food with the depth of caries in permanent first molars in children aged 8-9 years in Central Jakarta, and there is no statistically significant difference"

"Latar belakang: Karies gigi merupakan penyakit gigi multifaktorial yang dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor. Salah satunya adalah peran genetik. Banyak penelitian mengenai hubungan antara peran genetik kerentanan karies gigi telah dilakukan, terutama polimorfisme gen pada gen gigi tertentu.
Tujuan: Untuk memperkirakan kemungkinan asosiasi gen amelogenin (AMELX) dan non-amelogenin (ENAM dan AMBN) terhadap kerentanan karies gigi berdasarkan populasi.
Metode: Enam database elektronik, terdiri dari: PubMed, Scopus, EBSCO, Cochrane Library, ScienceDirect, dan Wiley Online Library dilakukan secara rumit sebagai pencarian data lanjutan untuk tanggal publikasi hingga Februari 2019. Proses menyeluruh dalam studi ulasan ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Preferred Item pelaporan untuk pedoman Tinjauan Sistematik dan Meta-analisis (PRISMA). Bagian meta-analisis diimplementasikan dengan menggunakan dua perangkat lunak: Review Manager 5.4 dan Comprehensive Meta-analysis 2.0.
Hasil: Empat belas studi termasuk dalam analisis kualitatif (tinjauan sistematis) dan kuantitatif (meta-analisis). Hasil analisis kuantitatif menyimpulkan bahwa ENAM rs3796704 berhubungan sebagai faktor protektif terhadap kerentanan karies gigi, terutama pada alel A (OR=0,7; p-value=0,009), genotipe AG (OR=0,7; p-value=0,03), dan genotipe AA (dominan) (OR=0.7; p-value=0.02). ENAM rs3796704 juga memiliki faktor protektif yang signifikan terhadap karies gigi pada etnis Kaukasia dan kelompok usia anak-anak. Namun, tidak ada hubungan bermakna antara AMELX rs946252, AMELX rs17878486, AMELX rs6639060, AMELX rs2106416, ENAM rs1264848, ENAM rs3796703, AMBN rs4694075, dan AMBN rs34538475 terhadap kerentanan karies gigi.
Kesimpulan: ENAM rs3796704 memiliki hubungan yang signifikan terhadap kerentanan gigi karies.

Background: Dental caries is a multifactorial dental disease that is influenced by many factors. One of them is genetic role. Many studies regarding the association between genetic roles dental caries susceptibility have been conducted, especially gene polymorphisms in certain dental genes.
Aim: estimate the possible association of amelogenin (AMELX) and non-amelogenin (ENAM and AMBN) genes to dental caries susceptibility in population-based.
Methods: Six electronic databases, consist of: PubMed, Scopus, EBSCO, Cochrane Library, ScienceDirect, and Wiley Online Library are carried out intricately as data advanced searches for publication date until February 2019. The thorough process in this review study is carried by using the Preferred Reporting items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) guideline. The meta-analysis part is implemented by using two softwares: Review Manager 5.4 and Comprehensive Meta-analysis 2.0.
Results: Fourteen studies are included in both qualitative (systematic review) and quantitative (meta-analysis) analyses. The result of the quantitative analysis concluded that ENAM rs3796704 is associated as protective factor to dental caries susceptibility, especially in allele A (OR=0.7; p-value=0.009), genotype AG (OR=0.7; p-value=0.03), and genotype AA (dominant) (OR=0.7; p-value=0.02). ENAM rs3796704 also has a significant protective factor to dental caries in caucasian ethnicity and children age group. However, there was no significant association of AMELX rs946252, AMELX rs17878486, AMELX rs6639060, AMELX rs2106416, ENAM rs1264848, ENAM rs3796703, AMBN rs4694075, and AMBN rs34538475 to dental caries susceptibility.
Conclusion: ENAM rs3796704 plays a significant association to dental caries susceptibility.

"Latar belakang: Suatu biomarker imunologis diperlukan untuk kasus yang berbatasan antara periodontitis kronis dan periodontitis agresif. Matrix Metalloproteinase-8 (MMP-8) merupakan suatu biomarker penentu risiko dan derajat keparahan penyakit periodonal serta evaluasi hasil perawatan periodontal.
Tujuan: Menganalisis kadar MMP-8 pada cairan krevikular gingiva penderita periodontitis kronis dan periodontitis agresif.
Metode: Penelitian ini mencakup 12 pasien periodontitis agresif, 17 pasien periodontitis kronis dan 6 subjek sehat. Kadar MMP-8 diukur dengan teknik ELISA.
Hasil: Kadar MMP-8 pada periodonitits kronis tidak berbeda bermakna dengan periodontitis agresif (p>0,05).
Kesimpulan: MMP-8 tidak dapat digunakan sebagai acuan diagnosis.

Background: An immunologic biomarker is needed to distinguish between borderline cases between chronic periodontitis and agressive periodontitis. Matrix Metalloproteinase-8 (MMP-8) can be a risk profile of periodontal disease, disease progression and evaluation of periodontal treatment.
Aim: Analyze MMP-8 levels in gingival crevicular fluid of chronic and aggressive periodontitis patients.
Method: Sampel was collected from 6 healthy subjects, 12 subjects aggressive periodontitis and 17 chronic periodontitis subjects. MMP-8 levels were measured with ELISA.
Result:MMP-8 levels in chronic periodontitis did not show any difference to the MMP-8levels in aggressive periodonitits (p>0,05).
Conclusion: MMP-8 can not serve as a diagnostic parameter.

"Prevalensi karies gigi yang ditunjukkan dengan decayed, missing dan filled teeth (DMF-T) masih merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat, termasuk di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran faktor individu, rumahtangga dan kabupaten/kota terhadap kejadian karies gigi guna menyusun model pengendalian karies gigi di Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (provinsi dengan riwayat karies gigi tertinggi). Desain penelitian ini campuran (hybrid) antara ecological study dan cross-sectional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara menggunakan kuesioner, pemeriksaan kesehatan gigi, pengambilan sampel air dan wawancara mendalam. Analisis data menggunakan regresi logistik multilevel (dengan mixed-effect model). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan faktorfaktor pada tingkat individu (frekuensi menggosok gigi, kebersihan gigi dan mulut dan kebiasaan makan makanan asam/bercuka), tingkat rumahtangga (jenis sumber dan keasaman air) dan tingkat kabupaten/kota (ketersediaan perawat gigi dan dokter gigi, angka gizi buruk dan besar anggaran kesehatan per kapita) berpengaruh terhadap prevalensi karies gigi berat pada penduduk dewasa, dimana secara keseluruhan dapat menjelaskan variasi risiko karies gigi sebesar 73,6%. Model pengendalian karies gigi yang sesuai dengan kondisi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung adalah menggabungkan pengendalian faktor pada tingkat individu, rumahtangga dan kabupaten/kota.

Dental caries prevalence, indicated by decayed, missing and filled teeth (DMF-T), remains a global public health problem, including Indonesia. The objective of this research was to address the role of individual factors, households, and regency/municipality in explaining dental caries incidence, in order to formulate a model to control dental caries in Kepulauan Bangka Belitung—the province with the highest dental caries prevalence in Indonesia. This research was designed as a combination (hybrid) of cross-sectional and ecological studies. Quantitative and qualitative data were collected through interview, dental health examination by dentists, water sampling, and in-depth interviews. A multilevel logistic regression (mixed-effect) model was fitted to the data. The results show that the explanatory variables at individual (frequency of teeth brushing, dental and mouth hygiene, and acidic food consumption), household (main water source and acidity), and regency/municipality (availability of dentist and dental nurse, malnutrition, and per capita health budget) levels influenced the prevalence of severe dental caries among adults; they all explained 73.6% of the variation in risk of dental caries. The appropriate disease control model, given the local conditions of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province, is one that integrates control of risk factors at individual, household, and regency/municipality levels. "

"Latar Belakang: Asupan makanan merupakan salah satu faktor penyebab karies gigi dengan prevalensi yang sangat tinggi di Indonesia terutama pada anak usia sekolah. Tingkat konsumsi sayur dan buah pada anak di Indonesia masih cukup rendah, padahal jenis makanan ini dikenal dapat merangsang aliran dan meningkatkan kemampuan makan anak. self-cleansing saliva yang penting dalam pencegahan karies. Tujuan: Menganalisis hubungan antara frekuensi konsumsi sayur dan buah dengan kejadian karies pada gigi geraham pertama permanen pada anak usia 8 sampai 9 tahun di Jakarta Pusat. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian potong lintang dengan menggunakan kuesioner frekuensi makanan dan pemeriksaan klinis anak usia 8 sampai 9 tahun di Jakarta Pusat. 109 anak di Jakarta Pusat diperiksa karies dengan klasifikasi ICDAS. Hasil: Penelitian ini menemukan nilai median frekuensi konsumsi sayur per hari pada anak adalah 1,6 (0-8,14) dan 1,4 (0-5). Sebanyak 98,2% anak mengalami karies gigi dan 63,3% anak mengalami karies terbatas pada email. Hubungan antara frekuensi konsumsi sayur dan buah dengan karies ditemukan sangat lemah dan tidak signifikan. Kesimpulan: Tingkat frekuensi konsumsi sayur dan buah pada anak di Jakarta Pusat masih rendah, dan prevalensi karies cukup tinggi. Hubungan yang lemah dan tidak signifikan antara frekuensi konsumsi sayur dan buah dengan karies menunjukkan bahwa ada faktor lain penyebab karies yang harus dikendalikan.

Background: Food intake is one of the factors causing dental caries with a very high prevalence in Indonesia, especially in school-age children. The level of consumption of vegetables and fruit in children in Indonesia is still quite low, even though this type of food is known to stimulate flow and improve children's eating abilities. self-cleansing saliva which is important in caries prevention. Objective: To analyze the relationship between the frequency of consumption of vegetables and fruit with the incidence of caries in the permanent first molars in children aged 8 to 9 years in Central Jakarta. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional study using a food frequency questionnaire and clinical examination of children aged 8 to 9 years in Central Jakarta. 109 children in Central Jakarta were examined for caries with the ICDAS classification. Results: This study found the median frequency of vegetable consumption per day in children was 1.6 (0-8.14) and 1.4 (0-5). A total of 98.2% of children had dental caries and 63.3% of children had caries limited to enamel. The relationship between the frequency of consumption of vegetables and fruits with caries was found to be very weak and insignificant. Conclusion: The frequency of consumption of vegetables and fruit in children in Central Jakarta is still low, and the prevalence of caries is quite high. The weak and insignificant relationship between the frequency of consumption of vegetables and fruits with caries indicates that there are other factors that cause caries that must be controlled."

"Latar Belakang: Protein merupakan komponen utama yang berperan dalam pertumbuhan dan perkembangan jaringan tubuh. Protein terdiri dari protein hewani dan nabati. Protein hewani terdapat dalam ikan, daging, dan telur. Defisiensi protein hewani dapat menyebabkan karies akibat menurunnya sistem pertahanan tubuh, atropi kelenjar saliva, serta adanya risiko kelainan struktur email gigi. Gigi molar satu permanen merupakan gigi yang dapat digunakan untuk menilai status kesehatan gigi anak karena memiliki anatomi pit dan fissure yang dalam, dan gigi tersebut erupsi pada usia dimana anak sering mengkonsumsi makanan manis. Usia 8 – 9 tahun dipilih karena pada usia tersebut gigi molar satu permanen telah erupsi dan gigi tersebut telah terpapar selama 2- 3 tahun di dalam rongga mulut, serta pada usia tersebut membutuhkan asupan nutrisi yang baik untuk mendukung pertumbuhan.
Tujuan: Menganalisis hubungan tingkat konsumsi protein hewani dengan karies gigi molar satu permanen pada anak usia 8 – 9 tahun di Jakarta Pusat.
Metode: Desain studi cross sectional. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 109 orang, yang dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling. Variabel yang digunakan bertujuan untuk menganalisis korelasi antara frekuensi konsumsi protein hewani dengan karies gigi molar satu permanen. Kuesioner yang digunakan untuk mengukur frekuensi konsumsi protein hewani yaitu Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) dan pemeriksaan klinis karies gigi molar satu permanen menggunakan skor International Caries Detection and Assesment System (ICDAS).
Hasil: Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan distribusi frekuensi karies pada gigi molar satu permanen anak usia 8-9 tahun adalah 1,8% bebas karies, 63,3% karies email, dan 34,9% karies dentin-pulpa. Hubungan frekuensi konsumsi protein hewani dengan karies menunjukkan hubungan tidak bermakna secara statistik (p>0,05). Kesimpulan : Terdapat hubungan tidak bermakna antara frekuensi konsumsi protein hewani dengan karies gigi molar satu permanen pada anak usia 8 – 9 tahun di Jakarta Pusat.

Background : Protein is the main component that have a role in body tissue’s growth and development. Protein consists of animal protein and plant protein. Animal protein can be found in fish, meat and egg. Protein deficiency can increase caries risk because of decreased immune system, salivary gland atrophy, and abnormalities of enamel structure. First permanent molar is a teeth that can be used to assess children’s oral health because it is more susceptible to caries than any other teeth. This tooth is susceptible to caries because it has deep pit & fissure anatomy and erupts at the age where children consume sweet food more often. Children aged 8 – 9 years is chosen because the first permanent is exposed long enough to oral environment and needed good nutrition for growth.
Aim: To analyze the correlation between animal protein consumption frequency and first permanent molar caries on children aged 8 – 9 years in Central Jakarta.
Method: This study design is cross sectional. Total research subject is 109 people that is chosen by purposive sampling method. The variables that are used in this research aim to analyze the correlation between animal protein consumption frequency and first permanent molar caries. Questionnaire that is used to assess the consumption frequency is Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and clinical examination to assess severity of first permanent molar caries uses International Caries Detection and Assessment System (ICDAS) score.
Result: This research shows first permanent molar caries frequency as follows; 1,8% free caries, 63,3% enamel caries, and 34,9% dentin-pulp caries. The correlation between animal protein consumption frequency and caries does not show any significant correlation (p>0,05).
Conclusion: There is no significant correlation between animal protein consumption frequency and first permanent molar caries in children aged 8 – 9 tahun in Central Jakarta.

"Karies gigi merupakan salah satu penyakit gigi dan mulut yang banyak dialami khususnya oleh anak umur sekolah dasar. Kejadian karies gigi pada anak diukur melalui indeks DMFT. Karies gigi berkaitan erat dengan kebiasaan anak SD dalam mengkonsumsi makanan kariogenik. Di Kota Serang, jumlah siswa SD yang menderita karies gigi tertinggi yaitu berada di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Taktakan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan karakteristik siswa dan perilaku konsumsi makanan kariogenik dengan kejadian karies gigi pada siswa umur 11-12 tahun di SDN terpilih wilayah kerja Puskesmas Taktakan Kota Serang tahun 2015, meliputi karakteristik (jenis kelamin, uang saku, pengetahuan, sikap, pH saliva), perilaku siswa (konsumsi makanan kariogenik, kebiasaan menggosok gigi, cara menggosok gigi yang benar).
Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan rancangan penelitian Cross Sectional. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SDN terpilih yang berada di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Taktakan Kota Serang dengan memakai teknik cluster random sampling yaitu SDN Drangong I, SDN I Taktakan, dan SDN Pereng. Hasil penghitungan besar sampel diperoleh sebanyak 140 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner, pemeriksaan gigi, pengukuran pH saliva dan observasi cara menyikat gigi yang benar. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis univariat, uji bivariat dengan uji Kai Kuadrat, dan multivariat dengan Regresi Logistik.
Hasil rekapitulasi indeks DMFT bahwa frekuensi DMFT terbanyak berada pada SDN Drangong I dan SDN Pereng termasuk tingkat keparahan karies gigi tinggi. Sedangkan SDN 1 Taktakan termasuk dalam tingkat keparahan karies gigi rendah. Makanan kariogenik yang paling sering dikonsumsi siswa adalah makanan kariogeniknya tinggi yang berbentuk padat lengket dan manis. Variabel yang mempunyai hubungan bermakna dengan kejadian karies gigi dengan p value < 0,05 adalah variabel uang saku, variabel pengetahuan, variabel sikap, variabel kebiasaan menggosok gigi, variabel cara menggosok gigi yang benar, dan variabel konsumsi makanan kariogenik, sedangkan variabel yang tidak memiliki hubungan bemakna dengan kejadian karies gigi dengan p value > 0,05 adalah variabel jenis kelamin dan variabel pH saliva. Faktor paling dominan adalah variabel konsumsi makanan kariogenik berhubungan dengan kejadian karies gigi. Sedangkan variabel pengganggu yaitu variabel kebiasaan menggosok gigi dan cara menggosok gigi yang benar.
Saran bagi siswa dapat membawa bekal makanan yang tidak terlalu manis dan lengket, selain pemeriksaan gigi rutin pada semua siswa Puskesmas Taktakan bekerja sama dengan pihak sekolah untuk memberikan penyuluhan kepada orangtua siswa tentang kesehatan gigi anaknya terutama mengenai waktu yang tepat untuk anaknya menyikat gigi setelah makan makanan yang kariogenik.

Dental caries is one disease the teeth and mouth that many experienced particularly by primary school children. The incidence of dental caries in children is measured through an DMFT index. Dental caries is closely related to elementary school children in the habit cariogenic foods consumption. In Serang City, the number of students who suffer from dental caries highest in the Puskesmas Taktakan working area. This study purpose was to determine the relationship students characteristics and cariogenic food consumption behavior with dental caries incidence at students aged 11-12 years Selected the State Elementary School At The Puskesmas Taktakan working area Serang city 2015 include characteristics (gender, pocket money, knowladge, attitude, salivary pH), student behavior (cariogenic food consumption, tooth brushing habits, tooth brushing method).
The method used in this study is using Cross Sectional design. Research conducted at Selected The State Elementary Schools located in the Puskesmas Taktakan working area serang city using cluster random sampling techniques that is Drangong I State Elementary School, Taktakan I State Elementary School and Pereng State Elementary School Calculation results of the samples Size about 140 people. Data collection using questionnaires, examination of teeth, salivary pH measurement and correct brushing method. Data was analyzed using univariate analysis, Bivariate with Chi Square Test and multivariate with Regresi Logistic test.
DMFT index recapitulation that frequency is the highest DMFT on Drangong And Pereng I State Elementary School and Pereng State Elementary School while Taktakan I State Elementary School including the severity of dental caries low Cariogenic foods most frequently consumed foods kariogeniknya students is high and sweet sticky solid. That have a significant relationship with the dental caries incidence by p value < 0,05 is pocket money, knowladge, attitude, cariogenic food consumption, tooth brushing habits, tooth brushing method and whereas variables that do not have a significant relationship with the dental caries p value > 0,05 is incidence is gender, salivary pH. The most dominant factor is cariogenic food consumption variable associated with the dental caries incidence. While the confounding variable is the tooth brushing habits variable, tooth brushing method variable.
Suggestion for students can bring food that is not too sweet and sticky, Routine dental examinations on all student Puskesmas Taktakan cooperate with the school to provide counseling to parents about their dental health, especially regarding the right time to brush her teeth after eating cariogenic foods.
