"Artikel ini meneliti bagaimana corporate sustainability (CS) dari perusahaan multinasional yang berasal dari negara berkembang (EMNE) mempengaruhi kinerja perusahaan mereka, dengan internasionalisasi sebagai moderator. Internasionalisasi mengekspos EMNE ke beragam tekanan global dan pemangku kepentingan, yang memotivasi mereka untuk terlibat dalam CS. Saya mengusulkan bahwa tindakan EMNE pergi ke luar negeri adalah untuk memperkuat legitimasinya di pasar global, dan ini dilakukan dengan meningkatkan CS dan kinerja perusahaan mereka. Artikel ini menggunakan studi cross-sectional pada periode tahun 2019. Data sampel diperoleh dari indeks MSCI Emerging Markets Index USD yang berjumlah 550 EMNE. Hasilnya menunjukkan efek negatif yang signifikan dari CS dan kinerja perusahaan. Selain itu, efek moderasi dari internasionalisasi tidak didukung dengan bukti yang cukup.

This article examines how corporate sustainability (CS) of emerging market multinationals (EMNEs) affects their firm performance, with internationalization as the moderator. Internationalization expose EMNEs to a wide array of global pressures and stakeholders, which motivate them to engage in CS. I proposed that the very act of EMNEs going abroad is for strengthening its legitimacy in the global market, and this was done by enhancing their CS and firm performance. This article used a cross-sectional study in the period of year 2019. The sample data was obtained from MSCI Emerging Markets Index USD index, totaling a number of 550 EMNEs. The results suggested a significant negative effect of CS and firm performance. Moreover, the moderating effect of internationalization is not supported with enough evidence."

"Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan antara sustainability disclosure dan kinerja perusahaan pada bank di negara ASEAN-5. Penelitian ini menggunakan regresi data panel fixed effect untuk pengujian hipotesis. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari ESG report scope pada Datastream Revinitiv. Sampel terdiri dari 46 bank dan 356 observasi dari lima negara di Asia Tenggara: Indonesia, Singapura, Malaysia, Thailand, dan Filipina selama 7 tahun (2014-2021). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara sustainability disclosure dan kinerja perusahaan. Hubungan positif ini menunjukkan dengan meningkatnya sustainability disclosure maka akan meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan, dan sustainability disclosure juga akan menjamin pertumbuhan jangka panjang perusahaan. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan tidak adanya hubungan sustainability disclosure pada periode mandatory report, maupun periode voluntary report dengan kinerja perusahaan. Hal ini menunjukkan tidak adanya perbedaan kinerja pada perusahaan yang mengungkapkan sustainability report pada periode mandatory report dan periode voluntary report.

The objective of the study to identify the relationship of sustainability disclosure between banking performance in ASEAN-5 countries. This study used Panel data Fixed affect to test the hypotheses. The study used secondary data, extracted from ESG report scope Datastream Refinitiv. The sample contained 46 banks and 356 observation from five countries in Southeast Asia: Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Philippines for 7 years (2014-2021). The results of the study show that there is a positive and significant relationship between sustainability disclosure and company performance. This positive relationship shows that increasing the sustainability disclosure will improve company performance, and sustainability disclosure will also guarantee the company's long-term growth. The results also show that there is no relationship between the sustainability disclosure in the mandatory report period, as well as in the voluntary report period, with company performance. This shows that there is no difference in the performance of companies that disclosure of sustainability report in the mandatory report period and the voluntary report period."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh corporate sustainability terhadap profitabilitas perusahaan serta membuktikan adanya perbedaan pendapatan, pertumbuhan pendapatan, profitabilitas, dan perubahan total aset yang signifikan diantara perusahaan High ESG Score dan Low ESG Score di Indonesia. Sampel yang digunakan berasal dari 30 perusahaan non-keuangan di Indonesia periode 2015 – 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan balanced panel data dan metode regresi data panel dengan teknik estimasi random effect model. Hasil penelitian menemukan corporate sustainability tidak signifikan mempengaruhi profitabilitas perusahaan. Selain itu, tidak ditemukan perbedaan pertumbuhan pendapatan, profitabilitas, dan perubahan total aset diantara perusahaan HESGS dan LESGS di Indonesia, sedangkan perbedaan pendapatan ditemukan signifikan.

This study aimed to examine the effect of corporate sustainability on firm profitability and show differences in revenue, revenue growth, profitability, and change in total asset between High ESG Score and Low ESG Score firms in Indonesia. This study used a sample of 30 non-financial public firms during 2015 – 2019. This study also used balanced panel data and panel data regression, with the random effect model estimation techniques. The study found that corporate sustainability didn’t significantly affect firms’ profitability. In addition, the study showed that there are no significant differences in revenue growth, profitability, and change in total asset between HESGS and LESGS firms in Indonesia. Instead, revenue differences between HESGS and LESGS firms in Indonesia were found in this study."

"ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh struktur utang terhadap kinerja perusahaan pada perusahaan sektor industrial di empat negara pasar berkembang ASEAN yaitu, Indonesia, Malaysia, Filipina dan Thailand pada periode 2008 ndash; 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan model regresi least square dengan fixed effect model. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa struktur utang dalam bentuk utang bank memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Yang diproksikan dengan Return on Assets ROA untuk profitabilitas dan Tobin rsquo;s Q untuk valuasi.

ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the effect of debt structure on the corporate performance in the industrial sector in four ASEAN emerging market countries namely, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand in the period 2008 2016. This research uses the least square regression model with fixed effect model. The results showed that the structure of debt in the form of bank debt has a significant impact on company performance. Which is proxied with Return on Assets ROA for profitability and Tobin 39 s Q for valuation."

"Studi ini menyelidiki pengaruh ESG Score terhadap performa perusahaan (operasional, keuangan, dan pasar) di industri environmentally sensitive. Studi ini menganalisis pengaruh ESG score terhadap performa perusahaan sebelum dan selama krisis pandemi Covid-19 di negara emerging market untuk melihat dari sudut pandang yang berbeda untuk melengkapi kesenjangan dalam penelitian yang ada. Untuk menguji hipotesis, peneliti menggunakan regresi dengan panel data menggunakan database Thomson Reuters Refinitiv Eikon™ untuk menganalisis data dari 704 perusahaan dengan kategori environmentally sensitive terdaftar yang dipilih dari 16 negara emerging market antara tahun 2016 dan 2021. Temuan yang diperoleh dari hasil empiris menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara ESG Score dan kinerja operasional (ROA), kinerja keuangan (ROE) dan kinerja pasar (TQ) perusahaan sebelum krisis pandemi Covid-19. Temuan lainnya, tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan juga antara ESG Score dan ROA, ROE dan TQ. Studi ini menyoroti apakah pandemi Covid-19 berkontribusi pada hubungan antara ESG Score dan kinerja perusahaan, terutama untuk industri environmentally sensitive di negara emerging market

This study investigates the effect of ESG Score on firm performance (operational, financial, and market) in environmentally sensitive industries. This study analyzes the effect of ESG score to firm performance before and during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis in emerging market countries to see from different perspectives to complement the gaps in existing research. To test the hypotheses, researcher used regression with panel data using the Thomson Reuters Refinitiv Eikon™ database to analyze data from 704 environmentally sensitive listed companies selected from 16 emerging market countries between 2016 and 2021. The findings obtained from the empirical results show that there is no significant relationship between ESG Score and operational performance (ROA), financial performance (ROE) and market performance (TQ) of companies before the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. Another finding is that there is no significant relationship between ESG Score and ROA, ROE and TQ during the pandemic crisis. This study highlights whether the Covid-19 pandemic contributes to the relationship between ESG Score and firm performance, especially for environmentally sensitive industries in emerging market countries."

"Ketika konsumen menjadi lebih sadar tentang pilihan belanja mereka, permintaan untuk Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) meningkat. Salah satu cara mengevaluasi CSR adalah melalui kinerja sosial perusahaan atau Corporate Social Performance (CSP), dimana implementasi yang berhasil dapat meningkatkan dukungan publik dan pada akhirnya berdampak positif terhadap kinerja keuangan perusahaan. Ada beberapa faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi implementasi CSP, salah satunya adalah kultur nasional. Dalam penelitian ini akan dikaji dengan dimensi individualisme dan jarak kekuasaan kultur bangsa. Literatur sebelumnya memiliki bukti yang tidak meyakinkan dan bertentangan tentang masalah ini. Karena penelitian ini tidak membuahkan hasil yang signifikan, perdebatan mengenai apakah budaya nasional mempengaruhi CSP masih berlanjut.

As consumers become more conscious about their spending choices, the demand for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is increased. One way to evaluate CSR is through its Corporate Social Performance (CSP), where a successful implementation can boost public support and consequently, financial performance. There are multiple factors that can influence the implementation of CSP, one of which is national culture. In this research, individualism and power distance dimension of national culture will be investigated. Previous literature have inconclusive and conflicting evidence regarding this matter. As this research yields insignificant results, the debate regarding whether national culture affects CSP still persists."

"ABSTRAK

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh struktur kepemilikan dan mekanisme tata kelola perusahaan terhadap nilai perusahaan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga meneliti pengaruh kepemilikan pemerintah terhadap nilai perusahaan dan perbedaan pengaruh pada masing-masing elemen mekanisme tata kelola perusahaan antara perusahaan milik negara dan perusahaan swasta di Indonesia. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah 279 perusahaan non-keuangan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia dengan periode observasi selama 3 tahun yakni tahun 2010-2012. Hasil empiris menunjukkan bahwa di Indonesia, struktur kepemilikan tidak berpengaruh signifikan, mekanisme tata kelola perusahaan berpengaruh positif secara signifikan, dan kepemilikan pemerintah berpengaruh positif secara signifikan terhadap nilai perusahaan. Sementara itu, struktur kepemilikan diluar kepemilikan pemegang saham mayoritas dan mekanisme tata kelola eksternal perusahaan secara signifikan memiliki pengaruh positif yang lebih tinggi terhadap nilai perusahaan pada perusahaan milik negara dibandingkan perusahaan swasta.


ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research is to examine the effects of ownership structure and corporate governance mechanism to firm value. Furthermore, this study tests the impact of government ownership to firm value and the differences of each corporate governance’s mechanisms effect to firm value between the state-owned and private-owned enterprises in Indonesia. The samples of this research are 279 non-financial firms that are listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange with 3-years observation (2010-2012). The empirical result shows that in Indonesia, ownership structure doesn’t significantly affect the firm value while corporate governance mechanisms and government ownership significantly affect the firm value in positive way. Moreover, ownership structure beside the majority shareholder ownership and external mechanisms of corporate governance have significantly stronger positive effect on state-owned enterprises’ firm value, compared to private-owned enterprises.

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh Corporate Governance, kepemilikan keluarga dan umur perusahaan terhadap Corporate Social Performance baik dimensi environment, dimensi product quality maupun dimensi community relations. Penelitian ini juga ingin menguji pengaruh Financial Performance terhadap asosiasi Corporate Governance dengan Corporate Social Performance. Corporate Governance dinilai berdasarkan indeks yang dikeluarkan oleh Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship (IICD), sedangkan untuk Corporate Social Performance menggunakan kriteria pernilaian yang digunakan oleh Greening dan Turban (2000) dimana pengukuranny berdasarkan dimensi yang digunakan lembaga KLD (Kinder,Lydenberg and Domini).
Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan model regresi logistik dan sampel sebanyak 239 perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia selama tahun 2008. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa corporate governance memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap probabilita high corporate social performance baik dimensi environment, dimensi product quality maupun dimensi community relations. Kepemilikan keluarga memiliki pengaruh positif walaupun lemah terhadap probabilita high corporate social performance dimensi product quality sedangkan umur perusahaan memiliki pengaruh positif walaupun lemah terhadap probabilita high corporate social performance dimensi environment dan dimensi product quality. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa financial performance tidak memperkuat hubungan corporate governance dengan probabilita sebuah perusahaan memiliki high corporate social performance baik dimensi environment, dimensi product quality maupun dimensi community relations.

This research aims to determine whether corporate governance, family ownership, and firm age influence corporate social performance in environment dimension, product quality dimension, and community relations. In addition, this research also would like to know the effect of financial performance on the association between corporate governance and corporate social performance. Corporate governance viewed by an index issued by Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship (IICD), while corporate social performance is measured by KLD?s criteria that used by Greening and Turban (2000).
Hypothesis testing used logistic regression with sample of 239 companies that are listed at Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2008. These result indicate that companies with good corporate governance will have bigger probability getting high corporate social erformance in those dimensions. Family ownership has weak influence on corporate social performance in product quality dimension and firm age also has weak influence on corporate social performance in product quality dimension and community relations dimension. Yet, financial performance is proven that there is no influence of financial performance to the association between corporate governance and corporate social performance.

"This research is aimed to test two hypotheses: (a) the strength of division cultures effects the reliability of the performances of PT Telkomsel's divisions and (b) the effects of the strength of division cultures on the performances of PT Telkomsel's divisions decline after the implementation of changes in the key performance indicators ("KPI") and targets. Since PT Telkomsel's corporate targets are detailed into divisional targets, it is important for PT Telkomsel to be able to predict its company-wide performances through the reliability of its divisional performances.
Based on organizational theories suggesting the importance of variability in firm performance and prior researches evidencing that strong cultures can enhance the reliability of firm performances, the writer conducted a research in PT Telkomsel using the following research methodology. Primary data for the independent variable of the strength of the division cultures were collected through questionnaires distributed to employees stationed minimum one semester in the same division.
The questionnaires used Likert scale of one to five, indicating the weakest to the strongest cultures. Data for the dependent variable of the reliability of divisional performances are obtained from reports on each division monthly performance scores, produced by Department of Performance Management of PT Telkomsel. The reliability of division performance is indicated by the calculated standard deviation of each division monthly score during the observed periods. The smaller the standard deviation, the more reliable the performance. These data of the two variables were then analyzed using statistical tools of regression and Pearson Co-relation coefficient.
The results of this research concluded that there is a strong relation between the strength of division culture and the reliability of 2003 divisional performances. The effect of the strength of division culture on the reliability of performance declined during the first quarter of 2004, after the changes in KPI. Even though the reasons why the effect declined still need to be verified by further researches, the writer suggests that PT Telkomsel provide sufficient time for learning and socialization processes for divisions with strong cultures, before the company imposes on changes."
