"The research is done by using qualitative research. The writer discusses five type of language functions based on the theory proposed by Finocchiaro and Brumfit, such as persona functional, interpersonal function, referential function, and imaginative function. The data is taken from Jakarta Post, and this is a qualitative research. The data are 4 articles of economics. In this study, the most dominant type of language function id referential function. It means most of the content of the news is used mostly for sharing information. The writer also advice English teacher to be able to teach the student using articles (economical, history, sports, medical, etc0 so the students can be enriched with kinds of terms in their English vocabulary."

"This study adresses language style, different ways of communicating, and the purposes of communication of male and female in Twitter status. The objectives of the study are: a) to find out the dominant type of language style used by male and female; b) to describe the way of communicating between male and female; and c) to describe the purposes of communicating of male and female in Twitter status. The data were obtained from 20 male’s status and 20 females’ status in December 2012 until March 2013. The data were analyzed based on three theory, first is five language style according to Joos (1967), they are formal style, consultative style, frozen style, intimate style and casual style; second is the difference ways of communicating between male and female according to Tannen (l992), they are advice versus understanding , information versus feeling, and conflict versus compromise; third is purposes of Twitter conununication according to Patrick (2010), they are entertainment, integration into community, relationship maintenance, and identity construction. The findings show that: a) the dominant style used male in Twitter ststus is Consultative style which are ll status (55 %) because male express their status for their existency, integrity, their style and social status to show that they are not jobless while female dominantly used Casual style with 9 status (45 %) because most of woman write status for their existency in the community Twitter, to express their feeling, opinion and theirstyle; b) Male used advice which are 10 status (50 %) because most of man think logically, to show their responsibility and look wise while female dominantly used feeling which are 8 status (40 %) because most of woman think based on their feeling, emotionally, and expressively; c) The resons of communication of male and female in Twitter status are: identity construction, giving information, praying, showing feelings, and giving advice."

"Conflicts and wars in several areas in Indonesia have caused a large number of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). IDPs adolescents are a vulnerable group for developing psychological problems. There was a concern about the form of time perspective that these adolescents have and its relationship with the occurrence of psychological problems in thefuture. However, there is a lack of studies of internally displaced persons that assess the relationship between psychological distress and time perspective in low income countries. The study aim was to assess psychological status and time perspective of adolescents who were affected by violent conflict in Indonesia. Cross sectional community based study. Questionnaires were used to obtain data from 129 adolescents whose lives were affected by violent conflict, both displaced and non-displaced. Subjects were selected by simple random sampling. Displaced adolescentswere present-past oriented, while non-displaced adolescents were future oriented. Displaced adolescents had more difficulties compared to non-displaced adolescents, especially in emotional symptoms. Factors like migration status, gender and religion have partial significance toward time dominance and psychological problems. There is a significant association between time perspective and psychological problems in which present-past oriented adolescents had greater difficulties than future oriented adolescents. The most common problem was emotional symptoms, especially anxiety problems."

Our aim is to provide an introductory and practical guide for students and professionals who are embarking on fieldwork in or around Indonesia. Describing practical methods of language data collection, processing, and management, our aim is to provide a guide for any research which involves the collection of language materials, including linguistic research, oral history or literature, and ethnography."

"Semenjak Deregulasi Perbankan diluncurkan maka Perbankan di Indonesia mengalami pertumbuhan yang demikian pesat, dimana banyak sekali bermunculan Bank dan cabang-bank baru hal ini dikarenakan ditetapkannya syarat yang begitu mudah di dalam peraturan deregulasi Perbankan. Namun pada saat krisis datang terlihat bahwa bank-bank yang dihasilkan setelah digulirkan Deregulasi Perbankan tidak tahan akan efek dari krisis, Hal ini terlihat banyak sekali bank-bank yang mengalami negatif spread sehingga dalam operasionalnya tidal( mengalami keuntungan, bahkan banyak bank yang pada akhirnya harus di tutup (co/aps).Melihat kondisi ini penulis ingin melihat bagaimana kinerja perbankan pada periode 1995-2001, dimana periode tersebut dipilih untuk membedakan bagaimana kinerja perbankan sebelum krisis terjadi (1995-1997) hingga datangnya masa krisis 1998-2001). Data yang dipakai adalah data sekunder yang didapat dari hasil peratingan bank-bank yang dilakukan oleh majalah Infobank. Data dipakai oleh penulis karena data ini sudah dipublikasikan kepada masyarakat sehingga kebenaran datanya sudah diakui oleh masyarakat, terutama pemilik bank.Dalam penelitian penulis juga ingin melihat bagaimanakah kinerja perbankan berdasarkan kepemilikan dengan maksud agar terlihat bank-bank pada kelompok mana yang berkinerja paling baik selama krisis terjadi, begitu juga penulis juga ingin mengetahui pengaruh kelas asset pada kinerja perbankan kita dengan maksud agar terlihat pengaruh kelas asset manakah yang mempunyai kecenderungan dapat mempengaruhi kinerja perbankan kita selama krisis tcrjadi.Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa selama krisis terjadi perbankan kita rata-rata mengalami penurunan pada profitabilitasnya, yang berarti bahwa kinerja perbankan kita mengalami menurunan selama masa krisis tcrjadi. Adapun bank yang cukup kuat bertahan selama krisis terjadi adalah bank pada kelompok bank asing. Sedangkan kelas asset yang paling mempengaruhi kinerja perbankan kita adalah kelas asset dengan jumlah diatas 5T, dimana kinerja perbankan kita dengan jumlah asset tersebut mengalami penurunan yang cukup berarti pada kinerjanya."
