"For more than two decades, the concept of student engagement has grown from simple attention in class to a construct comprised of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral components that embody and further develop motivation for learning. Similarly, the goals of student engagement have evolved from dropout prevention to improved outcomes for lifelong learning. This robust expansion has led to numerous lines of research across disciplines and are brought together clearly and comprehensively in the Handbook of Research on Student Engagement. The handbook guides readers through the field?s rich history, sorts out its component constructs, and identifies knowledge gaps to be filled by future research. "Keberhasilan seorang mahasiswa dalam memahami materi perkuliahan dan mencapai kelulusan sangat ditentukan oleh proses belajarnya. Proses belajar ini dapat dilihat dari bagaimana mahasiswa tersebut memanfaatkan waktunya untuk belajar. Untuk mengefektifkan waktu belajar tersebut, mahasiswa harus mengefektifkan pula student engagegement-nya. Student engagement merupakan inisiasi dari tindakan, usaha, dan persistensi pemelajar dalam pekerjaan sekolah mereka juga keadaan emosional mereka secara keseluruhan selama aktifitas pembelajaran. Student engagement pada pemelajar ditandai dari adanya motivasi intrinsik dari pemelajar dalam proses belajarnya. Penting bagi pemelajar untuk menjalani proses belajar berdasarkan keinginan dan keputusannya sendiri. Kemampuan pemelajar untuk mendapatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan melalui proses yang ditentukannya sendiri ini lah yang disebut sebagai student autonomy. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana hubungan antara student autonomy dengan student engagement pada mahasiswa. Metode pengambilan sample dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode convenience sampling. Peneliti mengadaptasi alat ukur student autonomy dari Autonomous Learning Scale (Macaskill & Taylor, 2010) dan student engagement dari Student Course Engagement Quotient (Handelsman et al, 2005). Penelitian ini melibatkan 51 mahasiswa sebagai sampel penelitian. Hasil korelasi menunjukan terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan, yaitu r = 0,560 antara student autonomy dan student engagement pada mahasiswa.

A college student‟s success in understanding study materials and achieving graduation is highly determined by his/her learning process. This learning process can be observed from how that college student spends his/her time for study. In order to optimize that study time, a college student should also optimize his/her student engagement. Student engagement is defined as student‟s initiation of action, effort, persistence on schoolwork, as well as their ambient emotional states during learning activities. Student engagement is indicated by the existence of intrinsic motivation within a student when taking his/her learning process. It is important for student to take his/her learning process according to his/her own will and decision. This student‟s capacity in gaining knowledge and skill by his/her own decision is known as student‟s autonomy. The purpose of this study is to know how far is the relationship between student autonomy and student engagement in college student. Researcher use convenience sampling as sampling method in this study. The adaptation of Autonomous Learning Scale (Macaskill and Taylor, 2010) is used as student autonomy instrument while the adaptation of Student Course Engagement Quotient (Handelsman et al, 2005) is used as student engagement instrument. This study involved 51 college students as research samples. The result shows that there is a positive and significant correlation, with r = 0,560, between student autonomy and student engagement in college student."

"Skripsi ini membahas tentang literasi informasi mahasiswa internasional pada Program BIPA di Fakultas Ilmu Pengetahuan Budaya Universitas Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kasus dengan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 6 orang mahasiswa BIPA yang dipilih dengan metode random sampling untuk diwawancara dengan pertanyaan yang merujuk pada teori literasi informasi Big6 yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menganalisis kemampuan literasi informasi informan dengan 6 tahap Big6 yaitu, definisitugas, strategi penelusuran informasi, lokasi dan akses, penggunaan informasi, sintesis, serta evaluasi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil bahwa mahasiswa internasional program BIPA di FIB UI melakukan tahapan literasi informasi tanpa mereka sadari untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi yang timbul dari luar perkuliahan yaitu, kebutuhan informasi dasar, informasi tentang pekerjaan masing-masing, informasi tentang perbedaan bahasa kosakata dan informasi tentang hobi masing-masing informan. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan literasi informasi setiap mahasiswa BIPA yang dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan Bahasa Indonesia informan, latar belakang kemampuan/pengalaman Bahasa Indonesia informan sebelum tinggal di Indonesia sebelum menjadi mahasiswa BIPA, dan lama tinggal di Indonesia.

This research aims to analyze information literacy skill of Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing BIPA students at Universitas Indonesia in accordance with their foreign language learning need, Bahasa. Einsberg 2004 asserted that information literacy skill is important in foreign language learning. This can be seen from the purpose of foreign language learning comprising of communication, culture, relation, comparison and community which increases the need of information literacy learning to overcome the problems concerning the learning. In order to support the need, the collaboration between information literacy and the use of Bahasa by BIPA students is necessary. Lecture curricula for foreign students would be more up to date if it is adjusted to information need of the students. BIPA students are foreign students who study Indonesian language as their foreign language or it can be called as Indonesian as Foreign Language IFL. Information literacy skill of BIPA students will be analyzed using Big6, consisting of problem defining stage, information finding strategy, location and access, information use, synthesis and evaluation. This research is using qualitative approach with case study method. Data for this research is collected through interviews, observation and literature study. Research informants were 6 six people selected using random sampling. They consisted of two students from South Korea and one student from Slovakia, Japan, Netherland and Vietnam. Most existing researches discuss English as foreign language second language EFL ESL, but no research on information literacy related to Indonesian as foreign language second language. Therefore, this research is going to fill the gap between the previously conducted researches on information literacy related to language skill."

"Penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan literasi informasi oleh mahasiswa pascasarjana program studi Ilmu Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia. Mahasiswa ini seharusnya memiliki kemampuan literasi informasi yang baik. Dalam penelitian ini fokus kajian lebih ditekankan pada kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menelusur informasi menggunakan fasilitas internet. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Model Empowering 8 digunakan sebagai metode dan menguji penerapan literasi informasi. Model Empowering 8 terdiri dari identifikasi, eksplorasi, seleksi, organisasi, menciptakan, presentasi, penilaian dan penerapan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa pascasarjana Program Studi Ilmu Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia melakukan penerapan literasi informasi hanya beberapa tahap di Model Empowering 8. Namun tidak semua tahapan tersebut dilakukan, seperti tahapan yang termasuk pada bagian identifikasi, menciptakan, presentasi, dan penilaian.

The focus of this study is about information literacy application for postgraduate student of Library and Information Science, University of Indonesia batch 2013. The informant must have a good information literacy skill. Information literacy we talks about in this research related with internet. This study emphasize in the postgraduate student information literacy skill using internet. This is a qualitative research with descriptive methods. The analysis of this study is based on Empowering 8 model which consist of identification, exploration, selection, organization, creation, presentation, assess, and application. The result of this research suggests that the postgraduate student of Library and Information Science apply some of the steps of Empowering 8 model. The steps that are not being applied areidentification, creation, presentation, and assess."

"Tesis ini meneliti tentang tingkat literasi informasi mahasiswa skripsi dan apakah pelatihan literasi informasi yang diberikan di luar kegiatan Orientasi Belajar Mahasiswa (OBM) memiliki pengaruh terhadap tingkat literasi mahasiswa. Tesis ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode pengambilan data berupa kuesioner yang dibuat berdasarkan Information Literary Competency Standards for Higher Education dari ACRL serta uji kemampuan literasi informasi yang tersedia secara online dan juga berdasarkan observasi yang dilakukan pada saat pelatihan literasi informasi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa pelatihan literasi informasi yang diberikan di luar kegiatan OBM memiliki pengaruh terhadap tingkat literasi informasi mahasiswa.

This thesis examines the information literacy level from undergraduate students who worked on the thesis and weather the information literacy training that held outside the Student Learning Orientation (OBM) has an influence on student literacy levels. This thesis uses a quantitative approach, while questionnaire was used for data collection. The questionnaire was made based on Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education of the ACRL and from the test that available online and also based on the observations from the information literacy training activities. The conclusion of this study is that information literacy training that held outside the OBM activities have influence to the information literacy levels."

"Skripsi ini membahas tentang kemampuan literasi informasi mahasiswa tingkat akhir Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Indonesia Banking School. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kemampuan literasi informasi mahasiswa tingkat akhir STIE IBS. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan masih terdapat indikator ACRL Information Literacy Standard for Higher Education yang belum terpenuhi oleh mahasiswa tingkat akhir STIE IBS. Penelitian ini menyarankan STIE IBS untuk mengadakan program pelatihan literasi informasi untuk mahasiswanya.

This paper discusses about information literacy skills of final years students of Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Indonesia Banking School (STIE IBS). The purpose of this research is to identify information literacy skill of final years students of STIE IBS and to identify of implementation of information literacy to support their course. This study is a qualitative research using case study design.

The results showed there are indicators of ACRL Information Literacy Standard for Higher Education that has not been met by the final year students of STIE IBS. This study suggests STIE IBS to create information literacy training for students."

Sumber berita yang ditemukan pada dasarnya menjadi tersedia di mana-mana dalam jaringan, dari mulai penerbit berita resmi sampai salah satu fitur Web 2.0, media sosial.Dengan mengetahui bahwa orang remaja adalah jumlah pengguna media sosial terbesar, pentingnya memahami literasi digital menjadi sangat mendesak bagi masyarakat. Dengan metode penelitian kualitatif, jurnal ini akan memeriksa tingkat literasi digital dengan mengamati dan melakukan penyelidikan mendalam terhadap perilaku media sosial remaja ketika mengumpulkan informasi secara online. Tujuan jurnal ini adalah mengevaluasi tahap kerangka melek digital seperti yang diperkenalkan oleh Renee Hobbs yang umum ditemukan pada remaja, khususnya mahasiswa sarjana.

Due to rapid technology advances, people have migrated from conventional media to a more contemporary media that is often known as the digital media. With a new technology being used by mass audience, user 39 s competence in utilizing digital media should be observed carefully.Digital literacy is no longer just a principle, but it 39 s a science that play dominant part in shaping user 39 s knowledge in gathering online information. When the Web 2.0 was introduced, Internet user has the freedom to explore and collaborate to things that is shared through the Internet. News resources are found basically everywhere within the network, from the official news publisher, to Web 2.0 most visited feature called the social media.Knowing that young adults have prevailed the number of social media users, the importance in understanding digital literacy becomes very urgent for society. Using qualitative research method, this journal will examine the level of digital literacy by observing and seeking an in depth investigation towards young adults social media behaviour when gathering online information. The purpose of this journal is to evaluate which stages of digital literacy framework as introduced by Renee Hobbs that is commonly found in young adults. "
