"This book examines Japan's policies in Korea from 1910 to 1945. A nuanced view of japan's rule in Korea is achieved by juxtaposing it to the European's record in Asia and Africa. It also highlights various ways that Japan's colonial interlude contributed to South Korea's postwar industrialisation."

Until now, North Korea has been reported on several international law violations, including terrorism, human rights violation and nuclear proliferation. While a considerable amount of peaceful methods had been taken, including various negotiations, they are to no avail. Several countries then decided to impose economic sanctions unilaterally, and some has been coordinated by United Nations Security Council Resolutions collectively with the basis of United Nations Charter Article 41. Ideally, with this much amount of sanctions that have been done perpetually and ubiquitously, it should have given some significant effects to the ending process of this conflict. This thesis will analyze the legal methods of settling conflicts between states, the practices of economic sanctions to resolute conflicts between states, and the implementation of those methods and precedent cases to the North Korea conflict."

"Research has shown that, when Japanese companies go abroad, they continue to apply their distinctive Japanese-style management ? with perhaps some adaptation to local economic and socio-cultural contexts. What has not been researched so far is how inclusive or exclusive Japanese-style management is for those working within the organisation. Based on case studies carried out in eight Japanese companies in Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam, this paper investigates how Japanese and local managers and employees are either included or excluded by the values, management styles and ways of decision-making prevailing in their company. The evidence not only shows differences in perceptions but also reveals some questionable aspects of Japanese-style management. It seems to be much more exclusive than suggested by either most stereotypical research on or popular understanding of Japanese management."

"Abstrak
Observers of Timorese culture have long maintained a preoccupation with the term Lulik. Its meanings have fluctuated in the past one-and a half centurie with prominent associations including idolatry, the sacred or prohibited, black magic, Timorese animist expression, or the core of Timorese culture. But Timorese have also commonly used the word as an adjective. This paper attempts to trace the origin of the bifurcated usages of the word Lulik through a reading of early missionary efforts to translate Portuguese religious texts into Tetun since the 1870s. In the early European missionaries ethnographic reports, Lulik was identified as the Other of Catholicism, the opponent to be suppressed. It was adopted as the translation of idolatry in missionary Tetun texts. However, it was impossible to maintain the singular pejorative meaning of Lulik, as the Timorese preferred to call Catholic priests nai lulik (Lord Lulik). A Timorese collaborator on Bible translation further took advantage of the missionaries ignorance of Timorese culture and language: Jesus was called Maromak Oan (the ritual ruler in Wehali) and liurai (the indigenous executive authority), while Caiaphas became the head sacerdote (the Portuguese word for priest) and Pontius Pilate was called Em-Boot (the title for a Portuguese governor). The upshot was that an attempt to present Catholicism as a European religion failed in Tetun, and the Passion became a story of an innocent native who was executed by the colonial and religious authorities. The missionaries Europe centric mistranslation of Lulik and the Timorese cosmology, however, strongly influenced the way the academic discourse on Lulik has developed in the following generations

"ABSTRAK
The early years of the twentieth century introduced Vietnam, then a French colony, to feminism, which helped expose the problem of suicide among women, prostitution, and the trafficking. This article surveyed writings in three influential newspapers published for and by women, namely, Phu Nu Tan Van (PNTV) (Womans Newspaper) 1929 until 1934, Phu nu Thoi Dam (PNTD) (Womens Discussions on Topical Questions) 1930 until 1934, and Dan Ba (DB) (Women) 1939 until 1945. The writings were analyzed to illustrate how feminism was
perpetrated in this period, and how the writers were able to
reconcile it with prevalent Confucianism, which this paper
also argued as having put in place, gender inequality."
