"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji representasi nasionalisme pada peristiwa Gwangju Uprising yang ditunjukkan dalam film Taeksi Unjeonsa. Taeksi Unjeonsa adalah salah satu film terlaris di Korea Selatan karya Sutradara Jang Hoon yang dirilis pada tahun 2017. Film ini mengangkat kisah tentang seorang sopir taksi dan reporter asal Jerman yang bekerjasama dalam mengungkap fakta mengenai gerakan Gwangju Uprising di tahun 1980. Gwangju Uprising merupakan salah satu peristiwa terpenting dalam sejarah Korea Selatan karena menjadi langkah awal bagi kemajuan sistem demokrasi di negeri tersebut.Rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana representasi nasionalisme pada peristiwa Gwangju Uprising yang digambarkan dalam film Taeksi Unjeonsa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan menggunakan teori nasionalisme dan representasi.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sikap masyarakat Korea Selatan dalam film Taeksi Unjeonsa sudah merepresentasikan nasionalisme dilihat dari pendekatan reflektif. Adegan dan dialog dalam film ini menunjukkan adanya aspek-aspek nasionalisme yaitu rela berkorban, mengutamakan persatuan dan kesatuan, cinta tanah air, serta berjiwa pembaharu dan tidak kenal menyerah.

This research aims to examine the representation of nationalism shown in the movie Taeksi Unjeonsa during Gwangju Uprising. Taeksi Unjeonsa is one of the best-selling movies in South Korea directed by Jang Hoon in 2017. This movie tells the story about a taxi driver and a reporter from Germany who teamed up to expose facts about Gwangju Uprising in 1980. Gwangju Uprising is one of the most important events in the history of South Korea because it is the first step in the progress of democratic system there.

This research discusses about how representation of nationalism during Gwangju Uprising potrayed in the movie Taeksi Unjeonsa. This research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive method and used the theory of nationalism and representation.

The results shows that based on a reflective approach, South Korean`s behaviour in the movie has represented nationalism. The scenes and dialogs in this film shows the aspects of nationalism such as the willing to sacrifice, prioritizing the national unity, love for the nation, having the spirit of a reformer and doesn`t give up easily."

"ABSTRAKPenulisan jurnal ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui makna yang terkandung dalam puisi Nunmur-ui jumeokbap karya Koh Jung-Hee dengan melihat kaitannya dengan tragedi Pemberontakan Kwangju 1980. Penulisan jurnal ini menggunakan metode analisis kualitatif. Hasil penulisan jurnal ini menunjukkan bahwa puisi Nunmur-ui jumeokbap karya Koh Jung-Hee memiliki makna mendalam yang menggambarkan suasana ketika pemberontakan Kwangju 1980 terjadi. Puisi ini diterbitkan tahun 1990 dalam buku kumpulan puisi Koh Jung-Hee yang berjudul Kwangju-ui nunmulbi, dalam buku kumpulan puisi tersebut, puisi-puisinya menceritakan tentang tragedi pemberontakan Kwangju, bagaimana kondisi masyarakat pada saat itu. Kata kunci jumeokbap atau dalam bahasa Indonesia berarti ldquo;nasi kepal rdquo; juga memiliki peran penting dalam peristiwa yang menjadi pintu gerbang demokrasi di Korea tersebut. Jumeok sendiri dapat diartikan sebagai kepalan yang menandakan kekuatan dan semangat juang masyarakat Kwangju pada masa itu. Puisi Nunmur-ui Jumeokbap karya Koh Jung-Hee ini menggambarkan tragedi pemberontakan Kwangju 1980 melalui larik-larik puisinya dan makna yang terkandung di dalamnya.

<ABSTRACT

This study aims to know the meaning contained in the poem Nunmur ui jumeokbap by Koh Jung Hee by looking at the connection with the 1980 Kwangju uprising tragedy. This study using qualitative analysis methods. The results of this journal show that the Nunmur ui jumeokbap poetry by Koh Jung Hee has a profound meaning that describes the atmosphere and situation when the 1980 Kwangju uprising occurred. This poem was published in 1990 in Koh Jung Hee 39 s poetry book entitled Kwangju ui nunmulbi, in the collection of poems, her poems recounting the tragedy of the Kwangju rebellion, the condition of society at the time. Keyword jumeokbap or in Indonesian means ldquo nasi kepal rdquo also has an important role in the event that became the gate of democracy in Korea. Jumeok itself can be interpreted as a fist that denotes the fighting spirit of Kwangju society at that time. Koh Jung Hee as a writer from Kwangju made the tragedy her inspiration for writing poetry. Nunmur ui Jumeokbap by Koh Jung Hee illustrates the tragedy of the Kwangju 1980 revolt through its poetry lines and the meaning that contained in this poetry."

"Representasi sejarah dalam film-film sejarah merupakan cara penulis menggambarkan atau menceritakan bagian tertentu dari peristiwa-peristiwa sejarah. Lewat film sejarah, para pembuat film dapat memperkenalkan berbagai perspektif yang berbeda tentang suatu peristiwa sejarah. Salah satu sejarah di Korea Selatan yang menarik perhatian para pembuat film dan drama televisi adalah gerakan demokratisasi Gwangju terjadi pada 18 Mei 1980. Peristiwa tersebut melibatkan institusi militer dan warga sipil serta merupakan salah satu titik balik dari perjuangan demokratisasi di Korea Selatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan representasi agensi militer dalam gerakan demokratisasi Gwangju dalam objek penelitian berupa drama televisi Korea Selatan berjudul Youth of May di tahun 2021. Untuk memahami bagaimana peran agensi militer terutama militer pada peristiwa gerakan demokratisasi Gwangju direpresentasikan dalam drama Youth of May, penulis menggunakan konsep representasi dari Stuart Hall dan Foucault. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis kualitatif deskriptif untuk menganalisis data transkrip film berupa dialog, monolog, non-dialog, dan potongan gambar yang ada di dalam drama. Hasil analisis pada drama Youth of May menunjukkan adanya dua bentuk representasi agensi militer dalam gerakan demokratisasi Gwangju, yaitu kekuasaan tidak terbatas yang dimiliki institusi militer dan gerakan demokratisasi menjadi proses yang mengarah pada tragedi.

Historical representation in historical films is the filmmaker’s way of describing or telling historical events in their works. Through historical films, filmmakers can introduce different perspectives on a historical event. One of the historical events in South Korea that has caught the attention of film and television drama makers is the Gwangju Democratization Movement that occurred on May 18, 1980. This event involved military institutions and civilians and was one of the turning points of the struggle for democratization in South Korea. This study aims to explain the representation of security agencies and the government in the Gwangju Democratization Movement in the object of research, namely one of the South Korean television dramas entitled Youth of May in 2021. To understand how the role of security agencies and the government, especially the military in the events of the Gwangju Democratization Movement is represented in drama Youth of May, the author uses the concept of representation by Stuart Hall and Foucault. This study used a descriptive qualitative analysis method to analyze film transcript data in the form of dialogues, monologues, non-dialogues, and stills in the drama. The results of the analysis in the drama Youth of May show that there are two forms of representation by military agency in the Gwangju Democratization Movement, namely the unlimited power possessed by military institutions and the democratization movement which is a process that leads to tragedy."
