Salah satu hal penting yang harus dilakukan untuk menjadi seorang apoteker profesional adalah berpartisipasi langsung dalam melakukan praktik kefarmasian. Maka dari itu, calon apoteker dituntut untuk menjalani praktik profesi sebagai bekal dan pengalaman untuk memahami peran apoteker dan meningkatkan kompetensi sebelum memasuki dunia kerja. Praktik Kerja Profesi Apoteker dilaksanakan di Puskesmas Kecamatan Kebayoran Baru periode Januari 2022, PT. Guardian Pharmatama periode Maret - April 2022, dan Apotek Kimia Farma periode Mei 2022. Melalui proses PKPA di industri farmasi, pedagang besar farmasi, dan apotek tersebut, calon apoteker diharapkan mampu memperoleh wawasan, pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan pengalaman yang sesuai untuk melakukan pekerjaan kefarmasian.

Pharmacists have important role in pharmacy practice. One of important things that must be done to become a professional pharmacist is participate directly in the practice of pharmacy. Therefore, prospective pharmacists are required to undergo professional practice as a provision and experience to understand the role of pharmacists and increase competence before entering the world of work. The Professional Practice of Pharmacist is held at Kebayoran Baru Community Health Center period of January 2022, PT. Guardian Pharmatama period of March - April 2022, and Kimia Farma Pharmacy period of May 2022. Through the activities in the pharmaceutical industry, distributor, and pharmacy, prospective pharmacists are expected to be able to obtain appropriate insight, knowledge, skills, and experience to perform pharmaceutical practice."

With the implementation of the Pharmacist Professional Work Practice in the pharmaceutical and pharmacy industry, pharmacists candidate are expected to gain experience and an overview of the work that will be carried out by a pharmacist in the world of work, especially in the pharmaceutical industry and services in pharmacies."

"Praktik kefarmasian harus dapat diimplementasikan oleh seorang apoteker. Untuk dapat menjadi seorang apoteker yang kompeten, calon apoteker harus memiliki wawasan dan pemahaman yang baik terkait pekerjaan kefarmasian yang nantinya akan dilaksanakan. Wawasan dan pemahaman tersebut didapatkan dengan adanya pembelajaran secara teoritis dan praktis. Demi terwujudnya seorang apoteker yang profesional dalam melakukan pekerjaan kefarmasian, salah satu hal yang penting untuk dilakukan adalah berpartisipasi secara langsung dalam melakukan pelayanan dan pekerjaan kefarmasian pada institusi kefarmasian, seperti apotek, puskesmas, dan industri farmasi. Apotek, puskesmas, dan industri farmasi dapat menjadi wadah bagi seorang calon apoteker untuk dapat mengasah keterampilan kefarmasiaannya sehingga dapat diterapkan dalam dunia kerja nanti. Untuk itu, mahasiswa melakukan Praktik Kerja Profesi Apoteker di Apotek Kimia Farma, Puskesmas Kecamatan Pancoran dan PT CKD OTTO Pharmaceuticals. Dengan adanya kegiatan PKPA ini, mahasiswa mampu menambah wawasan, keterampilan, dan ilmu pengetahuan dalam melakukan praktik dan pekerjaan kefarmasian secara langsung di apotek.

Pharmaceutical practices must be implemented by a pharmacist. In order to become a competent pharmacist, prospective pharmacists must have good insight and understanding of the pharmacy practice to be carried out. These insight and understandings are obtained through theoretical and practical learning. For the sake of realizing a professional pharmacist in doing pharmacy practice, one of the important things to do is directly in carrying out work and pharmaceutical practice in the pharmaceutical institutions, such as the pharmacies, public health center, and pharmaceutical industry. The pharmacies, public health center, and pharmaceutical industry can be a place for prospective pharmacists to be able to hone their pharmacy skills so that they can be applied in the current world of work. For that, students do Internship at Apotek Kimia Farma, Pancoran public health center, and PT CKD OTTO Pharmaceuticals. With this internship, students are able to build insights, skills, and knowledge in pharmaceutical practice directly in pharmaceucitcal intitutions."

Mengingat pentingnya peranan tersebut, maka calon apoteker perlu untuk membekali diri dengan pengetahuan dan pengalaman melalui Praktik Kerja Profesi Apoteker (PKPA). Due to the complexity of the field, a pharmacist is required to participate directly in the practice of pharmacy. One form of participation is carried out by holding the Pharmacist Professional Work Practice (PKPA) which is carried out by prospective pharmacists as a provision and experience to understand the role of pharmacists and to improve competence before entering the professional world. Kebayoran Baru Public Health Center, Roxy Pondok Labu Pharmacy, and PT CKD OTTO Pharmaceuticals are one of the agencies that collaborate with the Pharmacist Professional Study Program, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Indonesia so that prospective pharmacists can run PKPA in the period January – May 2022. Through the activities in public health center, pharmacy, pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical industry, prospective pharmacists are expected to be able to gain appropriate insight, knowledge, skills, and experience to perform pharmacy practice."
